actonel and ulcers

i currnetly am taking actonel for my bones the past 3 years and klonopin i per night and take alot of vitamins such as B compex etc. no alcohol consumption but i do smoke half a pack of cigarettes per day no other medical conditions known 6 months ago all my blood workups were normal . ANY IDEAS WHAT CAN BE GOING ON WITH ME ?

I am 3 years post breast cancer i had lumpectomy chemo rads i have taken tamoxofen for 2,5 years now on aromasil i had a bone density scan and was told i had low calcuim levels, now on calcuim sandox and actonel asked if i had osetoprosis and was told no have read around actonel and have not taken it yet as of the side effects please can you advice thanks.

I take once monthly Actonel. While I was pushing the pill through the foil blister, it broke. I did not take that pill for fear that it could cause stomach problems. My question is would it have been safe to take? Also, if I contact Proctor & Gamble, do you think they might replace the pill. If it was a daily pill, I wouldn't worry about, but I just lost a whole month of medicine due to a faulty package design.

Hi All, I am a 30 year old male suffering from obssessive thoughts, I had a stomach ulcers 6 years back and i use Rabeprazole 20 mg daily as a maintenance therapy, My GP suggested escitalopram (Lexapro 10mg) daily, after 2 weeks using the medicine i feel much better and my thoughts have come down, however 2 weeks into the medication i started having severe stomach burning sensation especially in the upper stomach behind the breast bone and the center of the rib cage, i recognise its the same fee

You might want to ask your pharmacist for more specific directions as far as the timing of your meds. I take Actonel once a month and my pharmacist said it was fine to take it at the same time as my levothyroxine since Actonel is also supposed to be taking first thing in the morning. Don't mix meds unless you get an all clear from a pharmacist.

I agree with AnnieBrooke - you need to be seen by a different doctor! And preferably an ear, nose and throat doc! When you have a throat so sore that you can barely swallow, can't eat at all and have ulcers on your tonsils, SOMETHING definitely needs to be done! Did your doc even bother to do a strep test or anything? Strep throat can also cause ulcers in the throat and mouth and strep is definitely something that neeeds to be treated with antibiotics.

Let your mother take omeprazole (empty stomach in morning) and antacid gel and see if it helps. Possibility of H pylori infection, hiatal hernia and gastric reflux should be looked into. Liver and kidney dysfunction is another cause. Hence kidney and liver function tests should be done. Other causes are diabetes and hypothyroidism. Electrolyte imbalance too can cause nausea. IBS, gluten or lactose intolerance, parasites in gut too can be the cause.

I know you have guilt issues going on - do not confuse guilt with risk - they are 2 totally different things. My advice to you is to turn off the computer and stop reading about std's and stop reading posts and stop thinking about std's all the time. hey everybody! sorry i haven't been on for a while, but i've been in the hospital with a preforated ulcer. i had emergency surgery about a week ago for it. my question is this: can lorecet (sp?) cause ulcers? the doctor gave me this for pain, and i'm scared to take anything after the surgery. the doctors say the ulcer happened because of use of goody powders. i've been taking them since i was in my early 20's, i'm 36 now.

I'm going on 32 weeks and have a mouthful of ulcers. Don't know what to do it hurts too bad to eat.

I'd be seen and make sure that indeed they are fungal related for starters. Many otc antifungals but you have to make sure that that is what is going on.

also if you have acute hiv will the ulcers take longer to heal ? some website tell me that outh ulcers are a sign of acute hiv (but can they be the only sign) others tell me that they rae more likely a later sign of hiv rather than ARS.

I have started mega doses of supplements and calcium and D and excercise and I want someone to tell me that that has worked for them. Most comments I get is to take the drug because it's more effective. I can't believe everyone is taking bisphosphonates or other drugs like that. I have taken fosamax and actonel and have had stomach problems and aching bones. My doctor is thinking about the yearly injection of reclast. How safe is it and will I have more problems with my bones aching - I can't sleep at night a lot from the pain. Maybe since I am having ulcers my body it taking longer to transfer to a positive? Any cases like this? Never had blister ulcers on vagina before what else is it it not HIV and not herpes?

However, in the past week and a bit the ulcers have been reappearing, and the glands in my neck are swollen and painful. With a flashlight I am able to see that I have 5 ulcers on my cheeks and gums and multiple ones on the back of my very red throat. So I guess my question is: Is it possible that the test the doctor did could be a false negative? I have never had a cold sore ever, and I am not getting them now either, just the ulcers.
