Avatar n tn Lots of missing pieces. What is the nature of the surgery, what is your medical history and what drugs are you on?

Avatar n tn I take once monthly Actonel. While I was pushing the pill through the foil blister, it broke. I did not take that pill for fear that it could cause stomach problems. My question is would it have been safe to take? Also, if I contact Proctor & Gamble, do you think they might replace the pill. If it was a daily pill, I wouldn't worry about, but I just lost a whole month of medicine due to a faulty package design.
Avatar n tn Shows chronic sinus problems but no current infection and no need for surgery at the present time. I also do the sinus rinse and have veramyst spray. Ear, nose, and throat specialist said to keep doing what I am doing and contact him in 2 months. I also have GERD and am currently taking Nexium since last May 2007. I also just bought an air purifier to put in the bedroom as a last hope. No one seems to be able to help. The allergy medicenes such as drixoral, etc. seem to cause a cough.
Avatar n tn As you understand that was a bleeding surgery. We had a lot of deeply kissing. There is 6 days between surgery and our kissing. Can there be blood in her mouth because of the surgery? 6 days enough to recover ?
Avatar n tn Then a friend asked me if I had any dental work or flu recently. The week before I had dental surgery for last part of dental implant where they uncover the skin around the screw that had been inserted previously then drill in the screw and pound in some white cap. Now I am in the month wait before getting an appointment to have a crown made. This has been a year process. I have been told to return in around 6 weeks or so.
1709021 tn?1308184343 Hi lady, that would be awesome if the Obamacare did cover dental too. I'm on disability and I don't have dental coverage either and it's sad because bacteria in the gums can affect your heart health. I know the false teeth are expensive, my mother had a tooth knocked out during surgery last August, it was hanging there literally, it had to be pulled. It was from a tube they put down her throat, she was furious! I would have been too.
Avatar m tn Inform ur dentist about ur dx, but I don't know what effects ur dental surgery could have. I was dx back in Feb....and had several surgeries while waitin on the dx.Granted they weren't dental , but surgery the same. Are u concerned with the anesthisia(sp?) or the type and location of the surgery?
1754670 tn?1312378295 I do have my concerns however, how long do these new teeth last? How long is the healing process?
315737 tn?1407298997 I would not recommend major dental surgery during tx, but just uncovering the implants and fitting crowns on them should fe just fien. And you will love it when the dental work is complete. I don't think you have to wait. Good luck.
1297538 tn?1278546102 I know that I get dental pain, and do think it is associated with my LD. The reason I think that is it moves around, affecting different areas at different times. I can tell when my inflammation is up (I consistently have high CRP levels and SED rate), and I'm more likely to have tooth pain at those times.
874521 tn?1424116797 as most of you have read Sami had an appointment yesterday to go under anesthesia and got more x-rays done on his teeth. He has a condition called FORLs that the Vet has been watching for a few years..and its progressing. Unfortunately he's getting a referral to a dental surgeon in the city(I've been putting $$ away for 2 yrs for this).....he'll need 6-8 more teeth extracted and they'll have to dig into the gum line and remove all the roots too(at least on some of them)....
Avatar f tn I have taken fosamax and actonel and have had stomach problems and aching bones. My doctor is thinking about the yearly injection of reclast. How safe is it and will I have more problems with my bones aching - I can't sleep at night a lot from the pain. This discussion is related to Atrial Fibulation / Multi-Infarct Dimentia.
Avatar n tn I am currently wearing braces and my orthodontist said that I will have to get a wisdom teeth extraction surgery. Ive heard that people with heart disease and who are undergoing dental prosedures are at higher risk for developing endocarditis...Is that true? If so, should I tell my cardiologist? HWat prevaentive steps should I take?
Avatar n tn When you look down it pulls on the cervical spine and some of that area inside may still be swollen from surgery and just from it being compressed b4 surgery, it takes time for all of it to relax and calm down..... Surgery for Chiari is not flipping a light switch and it takes time....sorry.
Avatar m tn Hiv is not transmitted via dental extractions and all dental tools are sterilized to meet guidelines and health standards.Your safe.
Avatar m tn Hello, I have a question regarding HIV transmission from kissing after recent gum surgery. Healthy male here 43yo HIV- and disease free. I had gum surgery about a week ago as part of a new crown. Has been healing well with little to no bleeding, swelling etc (that I can tell of at least). During this time had a makeout session with another younger friend who said he was also disease free.
Avatar n tn care for your teeth/gums is usually considered dental care and will be covered by you detnal insurance only, regardless of other systemic conditions one may have. You are right when you say gingivitis and diabetes are related, but just because you have diabetes does not mean your gingivitis stems from it. most adults have gingivitis, which is a mild inflammation of the gum tissue. It should be able to be addressed within the parameters of your $1000 maximum. treatment is not that involved.
Avatar f tn I will be getting a hernia surgery and then will be finishing the dental implant process about 3-4 weeks after the hernia surgery, so if the dental implant gets infected again will it be able to infect the hernia mesh since the mesh was placed in before the new dental infection started? Thank you!
Avatar m tn I watched an online surgery video recording where a patient had stents inserted. The cardiologists then took questions from an audience of doctors and the public. One question posed was "does plavix have to be stopped for dental surgery". The reply was "no, plavix has actually been shown not to produce uncontrollable bleeding and even a tooth extraction is very safe". This was a video from 2009, so I'm wondering if the general concensus has now altered.
Avatar f tn I am having knee surgery after the first of the year (2009), and know that it is important to have my teeth cleaned prior to that surgery to avoid potential infections in my mouth from migrating to the knee surgery location. However, my dentist is insisting that I need complete (18) dental xrays to spot potential infection at the root of the teeth. My orthopedic surgeon has not recommended such xrays. Do I need them?
874521 tn?1424116797 If you leave a viable root in then it is extremely painful after the surgery and eventually can set the patient up for a dental infection. WCVM is a great school...maybe not as great as OVC which is where I graduated from :) but I am sure your cat will be in great hands. Please dont tell them I said this Ha!
Avatar m tn 1. Does the AB I took (not finished yet) make me immune against gonorrhea or chlamydia ? 2. In case I got a STD (gonorrhea, chlamydia or syphilis), does this propagate to my penis ? 3. In case it's only located in my throat, how does it potentially propagated to other partners ? Thanks for yout help.
467604 tn?1214938733 Bad thing is i may go one vics soon only because i have to have more dental surgery..i have handle the pain and got this far and my husband says if i have to have the surgery he will help me and never leave me with the pills,,,but im worried..
Avatar m tn Yes, my teeth and gums were damaged from GERD. I noticed the enamel on my teeth was eroding and quickly forming black spots, a very upsetting thing. I went to my dentist and he and his staff eliminated the possibility of having an eating disorder (people who force themselves to vomit get bad teeth and gums) and GERD was the primary suspect of my issues.
