he was prescribed aciclovir and valaciclovir both at 200mg every 8 hours for 30 days. From what I have read so far it seems that it is usually one or the other not both. He was able to obtain the aciclovir but not able to find valaciclovir anywhere in Cuba at this time...should the one be enough for the first outbreak...and perhaps controlling any future outbreaks should he use the valaciclovir??
the only thing I use, or have been using these past 10 months has been aciclovir cream whenever I feel my skin getting a bit rough. It seems to stop the outbreak fast.
can anyone give a little more details of their experiences?
is this normal? these length of breakouts?
is there anything in particular I can do to make it receed faster?

I've recently been diagnosed with Oral Herpes. I don't know whether it's hsv 1 or 2, but it's on my lips, and I'm having my first outbreak. I was drinking water, and some of the water went up my lip and into my nose as I had my head back. I worried this may spread the sores into my nose. I realize that's a bit silly. Well, then when I was applying aciclovir cream, I finished applying it to my lips and immediately put my finger into my nose thinking I'd stop it early.
Hi i was tested at the Sexual Health clinic in March 2012 i found two spots they cut them off took swabs and they said it was herpes type 2.No syptoms.Until now no spots on vagina but pain in side,thigh sometime the Sexual Health doctor called them Promdol i am very frighten,Scare.My skin has some kind of underskin rash with pigmentation spots it is cancerous? I always been very carefull when applying cream to the infected area, but recently I applied the cream to the infected area with one finger and then washed my hands. Then, I took a piece of tissue paper and apply some eye makeup removing cream but before rubbing it to my eyes I spread the cream on the paper with the same finger I previously apply the cream on the infected area. I did not touch the eyes directly with the finger but with the tissue paper.
I have used a different version of this cream. It was called Aciclovir cream. When i put this cream on my vaginal area swollen up by about 2 times its normal size. I washed off the cream thinkin maybe it was an allergic reaction? The next morning i was fine. I may have swollen up but it did infact make my herpes tons better, do i continue use?
Some people do have a terrible breakout during the first episode, she will need anti viral meds, such as aciclovir and an anti viral cream as well, you can buy cream from the pharmacy but I'd recommend she gets the meds, it could be another week before the body fights it off and it is a very miserable pain..
Aciclovir cream (generic brand of zovirax) and tea tree oil both work as broad-spectrum antivirals in the treatment of warts.
To remove a wart that had been on my neck since childhood, I used an alternating combination of tea tree oil and aciclovir cream.
1. Gentle abrasion with pumice stone to remove outer layer of wart (allowing penetration to the virus through the core).
2. Apply directly over whole of wart, tea tree oil (100%) one day and aciclovir cream (5%) the next.

Is it possible to have Oral Herpes and only get the tickling without developing any signs of the sores (could the Aciclovir cream have prevented them?).
Normally wouldn't the sores have developed by now (7 whole days since the irritation started)?
Does the tingling sensation associated with Oral Herpes ever register in other parts of the face and body?
If it's not Oral Herpes, do you think it's anything else I should be worried about?
It is located on my cheek and I recently had a test for cold sores and it came back negative, but I put cold sore cream by chemists own (aciclovir 5%) on it and that seems to work. What is it?? I remember placing Bactroban on it which seemed to speed up the healing process, could this cold sore cream help a bacterial infection or could bactroban help a cold sore? Please help

I was prescribed a low quantity of antidepressants (Sertralina ratiopharm), anti anxiety meds (Aprazolam ratiopharm) and concentration pills (Ritalina). I was also given Melamil and later Risperidona Ratiopharm to help with insomnias (the last one the site says it is an antipsicotic, but I don't have psicosis? I only realized this now).
He then prescribed Ocuvir 400 (aciclovir) Tablets 3 times a day for 5 days along with Ocuvir cream. This created a lot of problems for as it gave me severe diarrhea and actually confined to the bed. After using the Ocuvir for 2 days I had the first outbreak which included severe burning, red blisters on the penis head and the foreskin which were visible when pulled the foreskin back.
Hi - my doctor was completely incompetent and whilst he thought I have herpes , he also thought I have thrush. He gave me a pessary and cream (I've stopped using the cream) and the pessary is just very painful because it's obviously coming out (horrid sorry). Anyway , two blisters appeared on Thursday morning - escalated to many by Friday in a cluster at the opening of my vagina and also one just below my clit to the left. I was prescribe aciclovir by midday and started it immediately.
I cant seem to shake the pain but live with it every day - Im on aciclovir tabs and nupetin 300 - I just dont know if these pills are actually working. Is there anything else that may help please???

hi, i think i'm not alone in this case. I know a lot of people have either HSV1 or HSV2 or both...this is my first time to experience herpes symptom (cold sores). Honestly I dont know if I should take the medication (aciclovir). i've read somewhere that we do not really need to do anything if we get the sores. Some people claim it will disappear on its own within few days. Is it true? so what's the point of people buying aciclovir if it disappear on its own?
I've been given a 5 day course of 800mg x 4 of Aciclovir as a treatment for shingles
About a day into my treatment I started to get chills/feel weak (slight fever)
the next, though I was on the mend, but last night - i had SEVERE chills. Literally i was shaking like anything
Could this at all be related to Aciclovir, or did I just coincidentally get another virus at the same time --- the side effects sheet doesn't really mention this.
