Aciclovir eye ointment

Common Questions and Answers about Aciclovir eye ointment

zovirax

Avatar f tn He came home with OptiVet drops, antibiotic eye ointment, atropine ophthalmic ointment, and Rimadyl. He has not had the atropine ointment in about 48 hours and his pupil is still very dilated. Is this normal?
Avatar f tn The only eye ointment I am familiar with is called Ottomune (or something close to that - I can look it up, but haven't). It is for "dry eye" which can lead to loss of eye sight. I use it twice a day, every day. The symptom that led to the dry eye diagnosis was the production of an eye "film" I'll call it, not sure it might also be called "weepy".
Avatar n tn At first I ignored it but then I got to wondering if it might be the onset of Oral Herpes so I bought some Aciclovir cream. However, the slightly tight and tingly feeling has stayed although there is absolutely no sign of any blisters after 7 days. Additionally, I am now getting occasional tingling in other parts of my face and body.
Avatar n tn I always been very carefull when applying cream to the infected area, but recently I applied the cream to the infected area with one finger and then washed my hands. Then, I took a piece of tissue paper and apply some eye makeup removing cream but before rubbing it to my eyes I spread the cream on the paper with the same finger I previously apply the cream on the infected area. I did not touch the eyes directly with the finger but with the tissue paper.
Avatar m tn On the third day, I applied ointment myself. I realized my right eye started to become pink eye. On the fourth day when I woke up, my left eye totally couldn't open and then able to open after a while. After I closed my left eye for a long time, my left eyelid was stick together and it dropped tears after I opened my left eye. Later I found out my left eye felt pain when seeing light.
Avatar f tn he was prescribed aciclovir and valaciclovir both at 200mg every 8 hours for 30 days. From what I have read so far it seems that it is usually one or the other not both. He was able to obtain the aciclovir but not able to find valaciclovir anywhere in Cuba at this time...should the one be enough for the first outbreak...and perhaps controlling any future outbreaks should he use the valaciclovir??
Avatar m tn Hello, I'm having a few concerns and am hoping that this little community could help me settle my mind. About 4 months ago me and my longtime girlfriend decided to part ways and lead separate lives, after 3-4 weeks and one new sexual partner I developed red bumps leading from the base of penis upwards and eventually leading to my first outbreak of HSV-1.
Avatar m tn Some morning I would wake with a shooting pain in my eye, and otherwise it has hurt every day since towards the end of the day. I went to the eye doctor and he prescribed me drops and an ointment because he said that maybe I have a cut that wont heal because each morning my eyes are so dry that when I open them my eyelid reopens the wound. He suggested I use the ointment and drops for 10 days and afterwards I could stop.
495284 tn?1333894042 Hi everyone! I'm Liberty's mom and Dominosarah is my mom! Liberty seems to be doing pretty good. She is squinting a bit but I suppose I would to if I had to have ointment in my eye. She tolerates me applying it to her eye but when I have to "rub" it in, she tries to squirm a bit. Makes me feel good that she trusts me enough to apply the ointment beings I have only had her for about 9 months. I must be doing something right!
Avatar f tn ve had a puntal plug placed in my left eye ( which is the worst of the two), been on Restaisis twice a day for awhile, have tried numerous dry eye drops ,which actually make them worse! I take flax oil in the morning, have used a sodium ointment at bedtime, have tried a sleep mask, and was tested for Sjrogen's Syndrome.
Avatar m tn hi, i think i'm not alone in this case. I know a lot of people have either HSV1 or HSV2 or both...this is my first time to experience herpes symptom (cold sores). Honestly I dont know if I should take the medication (aciclovir). i've read somewhere that we do not really need to do anything if we get the sores. Some people claim it will disappear on its own within few days. Is it true? so what's the point of people buying aciclovir if it disappear on its own?
Avatar f tn These questions cannot be answered with any certainty as each 'scratch' is different. You will need to ask the Eye MD ophthalmologist you see or a non-physician optometrist. Also it is unlikely you scratched the sclera since it is covered by two layers the conjunctiva and Tenon's fascia. Likely you scratched the cornea.
Avatar m tn I had chicken pox age 17, I've also had cold sores (herpes simplex) since I was about 2 which I believe are related too (I'm sure JJ will correct me if that's not right). Due to an unconnected event with an ulcer on my eye and the fear I'd get the virus moving to my eye, I've been taking Aciclovir ever since. No cold sores bar the odd 'threatening' to come feelings. Might be worth having a chat to your GP or Neuro perhaps.
177275 tn?1511755244 I already tries antibiotics such as natravox 500mg, erithromycin (sorry I dont know the spelling), terramycin. One ointment I always used when I feel that an eye stye is going to pop up the tobrex an eye ointment It may disappear a week but after that it goes back again.hope you could help me for prescriptions to try some other antibiotics/ointment for fast healing.thank you so much.
Avatar n tn Avoid rubbing the eye. If the eye wants to stay shut from the ointment leave it shut, splash with warm water till it opens then put in an artificial tear or Muro 128 DROPS (available as 2% or 5% [which often stings] also available over the counter. If Muro 128 products are irritation try Refresh-PM ointment at bedtime and a good artificial tear on awakening and several times during the day (Systane, Opteve, Soothe, Refresh, Tears Naturale, etc).
Avatar n tn A visited my doctor the next day as I started seeing patchy skin around the circumference of my penis head. He prescribed Momate (mometasone) Ointment along with Daskil (terbinafine) cream to be applied twice a day on the penis and Zanocin 400 (ofloxacin) tablets thrice a day for 10 days. This didn't help at all as the condition remained the same all throughout and I also experienced severe burning at that time. I also experienced sever urination problems during that time.
Avatar m tn I've been given a 5 day course of 800mg x 4 of Aciclovir as a treatment for shingles About a day into my treatment I started to get chills/feel weak (slight fever) the next, though I was on the mend, but last night - i had SEVERE chills. Literally i was shaking like anything Could this at all be related to Aciclovir, or did I just coincidentally get another virus at the same time --- the side effects sheet doesn't really mention this.
Avatar n tn Following a course of Aciclovir, she no longer has symptoms but he still has sores present on the penis. The sores have scabbed over and look to be healing - is it safe to have sex without a condom during this time? Or is she at risk of re-infection or a flare-up?
Avatar n tn ( My doctor told me I will be putting an ointment in my eye. I have heard that you swell, your eye is painful and very red, ect. Has anyone had this surgery being older and can tell me what to expect? I have even heard that it is more painful when you are older. If you used the ointment..how often and how long did you use it for? Thanks for any advice!!
Avatar n tn I have been to Optho and checked the eye totally, dilated the eye, peeked inside the eye and everything looks fine. He has given an ointment Neomyc-Polym-Dexamet to apply over the eyelids. As for white floaters he says could be the jelly at the back sometime settling in. Do you think I should wait for sometime or see neuro-optho? Any ideas?
1006035 tn?1485575897 I brought him to the vet and they said it was definitely pink eye and gave him some eye ointment. I find it so odd to put ointment in an eye...he doesn't seem to care though. Do you think he'll have allergies like this every year? He is a 2 year old labradoodle.
Avatar f tn I had a very itchy and sore red rash that circles each eye and the eyelids. the discharge is watery and clear, and I have blepharitis like flakes on my lashes. My eye doctor prescribed drops and ointment and advised me to cleanse wit baby shampoo. It persisted for many weeks until I went to a dermatologist who precsribed an anit-bacterial ointment. It has gone away and hasn't returned.
