I take Lamictal and Zoloft and I drink alot everynight and the reason is self medication because the real meds aren't working. So far, the only side effects I've had are headaches and severe hangovers and visits to the porcelin god. I don't recommend drinking while on ANY meds. It's alot more fun to drink a coke and watch other people drink and make fools of themselves anyway! You're young and in college and if you take care of yourself you have a good future ahead.
Zonegran is awesome! It really has worked great for my daugther with little to no side effects. Initially, there was some problems with being a little sleepy during the morning, but that wore off. It also did cause some appetite suppression in the morning, but that wore off too.
I hope you find the right dosage and it works well for you too.
Were you able to lose the weight you gained off of the Trileptal?

How was your MRI and tilt table study? Topamax may cause side effects such as muscle spasm or shaking while Zonegran may also cause chills, tiredness or body aches. If these persist, it is best that you inform your attending physician for proper management. Increase in blood pressure may be caused by a variety of issues as well such as underlying condition and from physiologic causes like sickness or from physical exertion. Regular Blood pressure monitoring and low salt diet may also help.
Dilantin was toxic to me in even small doses...it made me so sick. That was the first medication I ever tried and it didn't really help so my nuerologist kept increasing my dose despite what I was telling him. Then he put me on Tegretol which caused me to have major balance issues and night paralysis, every night, several times a night...very disturbing.
Hello, I very much need an answer because my doctor will not give me a straight answer. I'm currently on Lamictal (800mg a day) and Zonegran (200mg a day) and I'm a college student so I tend to drink. I've never had a seizure while consuming alcohol but im terrified when doing so. So heres my question...
When I drink (beer) with my meds, will it bring on a seizure? or just enhance the side effects?
Please I very much need to know asap! Maybe even stories would helpl too.

re with a doctor you trust and be careful with the meds, the side effects can be devastating. Infantile spasms can cause severe developmental delays and doctors work hard at trying to stop them because of it. Seizures are very complex and what works for one may not for another. What I have found is that all of the cases are so different, each child may have the same "type" of seizure but won't respond to the same med. They have never found a cause for his seizures.
I am 55 yrs old female and went for a physical and was told i had high blood presure, that day it was 144/92. I had a blood test and it showed high cholesteral 257. Doctor put me on 10 MG Lisinopril. I took the tab for 5 days on the fifth day my heart was pounding so hard in my chest and i felt like someone was sitting on my chest. I woke this morning with aches and pains and have been experiencing a headache on and off all day that is when I am not SLEEPING. Honestly I am not complaining especially since I had expected much worse. My question is do the symptoms change or/and get worse as treatment continues. I would assume they do get worse since the meds build up in your body. I have 3 kids ages 16,11,and 7.
Did you taper off the vibryd or quit abruptly? You can't just switch from one medication to another even in the same class and avoid withdrawal -- these meds are not easy to stop taking and it must be done carefully. Unless you completely stop taking a medication before starting another it's impossible to tell if your symptoms are a sign you're suffering withdrawal and quit too quickly or are side effects of the new medication.
You definitely need to get some high quality moisturizer and start lathering your body with it. Also note – hot water dries out the skin. If possible, you might feel better if you skipped a daily shower when possible.
The nausea stinks big time. The Pegasys folks are pretty clear that this particular side effect doesn't last and in my case it didn't. After about a month it went away. Try to eat small, frequent meals. Anything you like. Cold food is better than hot food.

would this statement not really get you thinking.I never had any serious deseases but thought that the hep c would kill me. how irronic. those serious side effects are all that occur in our bodies, for some of us. I never experienced any thing like this before on the treatment.
It could be a side effect of the methadone or even an allergic type reaction to it. I remember when I took Macrobid (antibiotic) for a urinary infection, I had a high fever (102.3) every time I would take it, so I called my doctor's office and they told me to stop it immediately because I was having an allergic reaction to it. As it turned out, my father had had this same type of reaction to it a couple years before.
I had many side effects. Headaches, severe heartburn accompanied with hiccups. Blisters and discoloration all over my tongue and back of my throat. By day 6 my feet and ankles were badly swollen and it was getting difficult to swallow. My doc said I was having a systemic reaction and to quit immediately. We are going to try Subutex now and I hope it works.
On all the info I found, the only side effect I had that was listed was headache.
