On March 28th I had started feeling bad and had diarrhea twice and felt extremely weak my husband brought me to the ER and when they tried to do my IV they said I was very dehydrated and all the digging around for a vein caused me to vomit but they gave me fluids and zofran and after that I never did again and just felt weak for a couple days.

So, it could be the stomach virus. You're still sick even if you inhibit vomiting. Glad that worked for you! The other possibility is that perhaps you had a touch of food poisoning but with your house having a stomach virus, likely you did as well and while the meds you took (don't take someone else's meds, take only what is prescribed by a doctor for you personally)--- stopped vomiting, it doesn't mean you didn't have the virus and other effects of it.

I was almost in the hospital with dehydration from mt stomach virus. Try to drink warm flat ginger ale but take small sips at a time. Drinking it flat is the best thing because the bubbles can make your stomach act up and cause you to vomit. My doctor suggested that and that was the only way I could keep fluids down. 7-Up also worked well for me. I'm 12 weeks tomorrow and still very naueous and drink flat ginger ale or 7-up on the regular.

The Lomotil couldn't even touch my diarrhea, but the Zofran has worked magixally. I have taken my zofran and am hoping that that is the end of it. I took phenegren for a couple of years when needed but earlier this year when my hubby took me to the ER they gave me zofran and I found it worked WAY better than the phenegran. But it seems lately like it's kinda lost its luster and is not as efficient as it once was. I just got a sprite and am trying to sip my way through that. Anybody have any suggestions? Do you think its from the ulcers?

This all started to happen after having the stomach virus about 6 months ago. So far I have lost 30 pounds, I used to weigh about 190 now I weigh 160. I'm 18 yr old male. I have been feeling nauseous, with a weird feeling in my throat almost as if I have to vomit and abdominal pain. I've only vomited twice because of this. My general doctor prescribed me Prilosec thinking it could be acid reflux. The medicine didn't help or couldn't see a difference.

I have been on triple therapy for 4 weeks now and nausea is terrible. My Dr prescribed zofran. Zofran is for nausea in chemo and radiation patients...it does wonders. See if he will prescribe you some. Good luck.

Anyone else have or had the stomach flu while pregnant? I'm 4 months and have had the flu for past 2 days. Was given a prescription for zofran but I'm still super exhausted and worried it will hurt the baby all this vomiting and and soreness around my back and stomach.

You can try ginger ale saltines just don't take more meds then prescribed. With my first pregnancy zofran just took the edge off but it didn't work miracles.

I had a stomach virus for three days on the second day was feeling very nauseated and dizzy and i am done with my stomach virus and am still left with this horrible feeling of dizziness and nausea that is accompanied by tiredness. Help im tired of feeling sick, i wana get back to being me.

Some people refuse to take meds for it but I had to eventually take zofran because I couldn't work. I would suffer through the nausea on my days off and use the zofran when at work.

What can u do for a stomach virus while ur pregnant.?? Other than drinking lots of fluids...(i throw the water right up) i juss took a zofran so im hoping it helps.

Same here... It works great for me. I took it for about 4 days and then the constipation kicked in. Ouch, horrible. Now I need to do remedies for constipation problems.

they recommended me to take it on an empty stomach, but it all depends on how you feel. Zofran works perfectly!

those pills helped with all the extra acid in stomach...he also gave me zofran for nausea and vomting which helped alot... I feel much better now and have finished the prescription for the acid pills...my blood tests were also normal... sounds like you are having same reaction as me...sometimes the antesethic can cause alot of problems for a couple weeks...did the IV fluids help at all?

I have been using phenergan/promethazine it's an antihistamine for nausea and itching, it made me sleepy until I got used to it. It works well for me on the nausea and I guess the itching as well as I haven't had to much of a problem with that yet.

I tried to take the pills but I was way to sick for that! So I have been on the Zofran pump (pumps Zofran into my stomach 24 hours a day) for the last 3 months. It's been "Heaven sent" for me! I lost 28 pounds in my first trimester and was unable to eat or drink anything for 11 weeks! Now because of the pump, I can eat anything and have gained 3 of those pounds back!

It could still be a stomach virus, however, it could be a bacteria or even parasite. I recenlty had a stomach virus that lasted about 7-8 days. Have you ever been tested for or diagnosed with IBS (Irritable Bowel Syndrome)? Your headaches could very well be a sign of dehydration - with all the diarrhea, you can get dehydrated pretty quickly. Be sure and stay well hydrated - water, ginger ale, sports type drinks are all good.

And, will that be less when he is only on ribra and interferon? And what do you use for the anaemia - because I have been reading that iron is not good, de virus loves the iron. Thanks!
