zofran for nausea in pregnancy

I'm new here, and I was wondering if you have any thoughts or helpful tips to nausea. I'm on my second pregnancy and I've never had to deal with nausea while being pregnant with my daughter. Now I just feel as if I can't eat anything without vomiting.

I was on diclegis for the first few months. Its especially made for morning sickness and nausea. One of the only pregnancy safe medications. It worked great for me.

ve used it for migraine nausea as well as with pregnancy. It works quick and no side effects for me. Life saver!

I used zofran in both my pregnancy I used it everyday for like 6 months with my first my daughter had to holes in her heart that she still has today an she's 3 my son only had a small hole an closed around 1 year I didn't know the effects until this pregnancy an i have the extreme morning sickness there's a fancynword for it I take diclegis a few times a day an it works great

I was recently sent to the ER by my ob for rehydration since I wasn't able to keep ANYTHING down for the past week. I was prescribed zofran but it honestly doesn't seem to be working for me. I'm 9wks. My prev pregnancy I had bad nausea but not nearly this bad vomitting. Anyone experiencing the same???

Ginger pills. Gravol makes a ginger pill. Worked for my morning sickness.

Hi, I am 6 weeks pregnant almost 7 now and I have had the worse nausea of my life. Not much of throwing up just nausea. I was prescribed Zofran to help with that but I have found that a lot of women who have taken it have had their child born with deformities. Has anyone taken this medicine before???

I took zofran for the first 20 weeks of pregnancy it was that or become dehydrated and starve bevel with that I didn't each much but puked a lot less. Feel better!! Strangely enough my OB recommended drinking little sips of coca cola (not diet) it actually did help!

I took it in my first trimester and it worked like a charm for me. At my anatomy scan at 20 weeks baby was perfectly fine.

The risks of defects associated with Zofran occur before 12 weeks of pregnancy. I had to take it for a few weeks during that period before my morning sickness went away. They check for defects and everything at your 20 week scan. It seems like she prescribed it because the risk of you running into a health issue due to your weight loss is higher than a birth defect caused by Zofran.

Zofran is NOT recommended by the FRAME for use in pregnancy. There is evidence of cleft palates and heart deformation in pregnancy. Diclegis is much safer and is the ONLY anti nausea med is the class A safety rating for meds. It has been studied for 50 years with zero correlation to negative side effects in the fetus. Only downside is it makes you really sleepy. Do your research.

Yes, definitely ask your doctor fir zofran. I couldnt even hold water down and the doctor prescribed me zofran bc I waa getting dehydrated.

I've never heard of this before unisom is a sleep aid but i don't see why sleeping better would help with nausea i have an abnormally high level of hormones that my body produces and have been diagnosed with hyperemisis during this pregnancy and both of my previous two it's excessive vomiting due to the high level off hormones my body produces.

Emetrol is an over the counter med for nausea that is safe, try always keeping something in your stomach, eat crackers before getting up in the am, try ginger tea. Good Luck, I never found anything that worked.

I too took Zofran the entire pregnancy - my nausea came back w/a vengance during the 3rd trimester - I hpe this helps & your nausea gets better - jen

Have you tried Zofran? My first pregnancy I was sick for 6 months straight.. All I drank was milk and ate potatoes.. Nasty I know.. But I tried everything and anything to keep the nausea to a minimum..

Zofran worked for my first pregnancy but it did not for this one. This one is twins though so maybe that's why. It does constipate you almost immediately though!

Is it safe to take zofran during pregnancy. My doctor perscibed it to me for nausea. But then i got freaked out about a commercial i saw in tv about zofran causing birth defects.

Has anyone else taken zofran while preg? I read that it was bad for baby one some sites and is a miracle drug on others. I'm just concerned and would never want to take anything that could harm my baby.

I took zofran my entire first pregnancy because I was horribly sick an the first 3 months I couldn't even get out of bed let alone eat!

I know I haven't been on much, but I need some opinions...I called the RE's office this morning to see if he will go ahead and prescribe me Zofran for the nausea...I don't remember throwing up this much with Travis and at least with him, I could eat meat - This one - Nadda.

I was soo sick before I started taking it, like leaving work early and calling in sick for 2 days at a time with nausea and vomiting. I hope it works for you.
