Zegerid and neck pain

Common Questions and Answers about Zegerid and neck pain

prilosec

Avatar f tn It helped and in three days I was fine so I stopped it. I went back and told him the pain was easing up and that I had stopped the Zegerid so he said ok and if it did come back to take prilosec. Pain did come back so I took it for 12 days and had major reactions to it. So I again stopped. He then did the upperendocopy with biopsy just to check for ulcers and all was fine and I was diagnosed with reflux.
Avatar f tn Hi- I have taken Zegerid and found it to be the best of GERD/acid-reflux med's. They all do take some time, but for me it's the best by a good margin, with Kapidex/Prevacid second. My insurance co. doesn't cover Zegerid as well as they cover Prevacid, but my doctor calls it the "Rolls Royce" of stomach meds.
Avatar n tn So far I have tried Prevacid, Aciphex, Prilosec,Protonix, and Nexium. Aciphex gave me bad side effects and Nexium made my reflux symptoms worse. Prilosec did absolutely nothing for me. I was successfully treated for H. Pylori in Nov 07. Since then I have been suffering from Water Brash and now heartburn. I don't know where to turn. My GI now wants me to take Zegerid(isn't this med just like Prilosec with sodium?). Any input will be greatly appreciated.
Avatar f tn t have any feeling of acid in my throat, it did correlate to my main symptoms of pain, nausea and cough. I started taking Zegerid 40/1100. Then I became sick with bronchitis and needed to take an antibiotic and had to stop taking the Zegerid for about a week. Upon continuing the Zegerid I have had increasing typical acid reflux symptoms, to the point of waking me up at night. So I called my doc and started taking another Zegerid during the day, and taking Gaviscon before bed...

Avatar m tn Since then, yesterday morning I woke up with pain in my neck. At first I figured they were unrelated and thought I just slept the wrong way on my neck. I was okay through most of the day and the abdominal pain subsided. But in the evening my neck started hurting more and I also started getting a minor headache. The ab pains were very slight and I concentrated more on my neck and head. Plus I also realized I had a loss of appetite.
Avatar f tn I was using ranitidine (generic for zantac). I was having horrible stomach pain and dr told me to try zegerid....and holy smokes its awesome!!! Expensive but good stuff $23 for 42 @ target.
Avatar n tn I saw a GI specialist who switched me off Nexium and put me on Zegerid. Abdominal x-rays and H. Pylori breath tests were negative. Endoscopy showed irritation, but no major damage. There was also a small amount of bile in my stomach. Biopsies were negative and no sign of ulcers. Blood tests were normal. Initially I had a rough start with the Zegerid where I couldn't even eat.
Avatar f tn I get terrible heartburn and I dont know what to do with myself because I take Zegerid EVERY DAY!! This is starting to seriously interfere with my life, and work. I can't do much when I get stomach pains. Why does the zegerid not work sometimes? And how do i get rid of this terrible heartburn? and why do i have to keep taking it if there's nothing specifically wrong with me?
Avatar f tn I have even had prescription pain medicide prescribed to me to manage the severe pain I do get with this condition. I have also had a barium swallow and an Upper GI performed that allowed my gastro to rule out Esohageal Spasms (which my symptoms are not like the ones that are described for this condition). Also, these "episodes" do not follow swallowing. They have occurred while relaxing on the couch, walking and even exercise.
Avatar f tn As I read more off this site, I decided to have old rheumo. report and swallow study from by GI sent to neuro. Neuro pa called and said--did anyone ever talk with you about your swallow study. No, only confirmed that I did have esophageal spasms, but not really said anything. (That was 12/09) She told me yesterday that my neuro said there is info on the report about silent aspiration showing, too. That could increase my risk of pneumonia, etc.

Im on Zegerid in the am and zantac in the pm. I started a new plan about the ibc-c and im going every other day. It just feels like the tube where it hits my stomach is cold/chilled.
168348 tn?1379357075 Our GI wanted to give me samples of it for Jenna since my copay went up to 100 for the Protonix and I asked him what it compared to and that is what he told me, needless to say we did not change meds since the Protonix was working fine, I didnt want to risk changing meds.
Avatar n tn , caring for elderly parents, unexpected deaths of brother and brother-in-law, and most recently, learning that my husband has cancer. Prilosec and Prevacid offered temporary relief 10 years ago and since going on Zegerid, I really have felt much better. My pharmacist assures me the the nitro has been in use for these spasms for "quite awhile". I guess the jury will be out for me until my next episode and I can try a tablet.
394931 tn?1208115595 i get heartburn bad enough to cause me to vomit, or i eat and i get severe pain right afterwards a very yucky feeling, where i am doubled over in pain and it lasts for anywheres from half an hour to an hour. if i eat or drink anything i have bad heartburn doesnt matter what it is. my doctor prescribed me pantoloc for the heartburn which is not working at all. all it does is make me vomit..i am at the end here i am 23 years old and i am usually so uncomfortable because of the heart burn.
Avatar f tn The only thing they found with those were mild GERD and gastritis. I was prescribed Zegerid (after failed attempts on other meds) and it still didn't help. Eventually it subsided to where I was only have pain once a month (this might also be because I was on constant pain medication for other reasons). Recently I have been taken off the medicine that helps with pain and my symptoms are back.
Avatar f tn I've been having issues for months. I'm a 37 year old female who was in generally good health until about 7 months ago. I ended up in the ER because I was having heart palpitations. The ER couldn't find anything wrong, and after 2 different cardiologists, two holter monitors, many EKGs and an Echocardiogram, it was determined that I have "harmless" skipped beats (PVCs or PACs).
709686 tn?1277432159 maybe a little weight loss. Omeprazole (Prilosec or Zegerid) causes me all kinds of problems. Headache, chest pain, red/irritated eyes, all kinds of body aches, constipation and extreme thrist. Problem is...protonix is by script only and VERY EXPENSIVE! Someone talk to me about this. Has anyone else experienced these problems with Omeprazole?
Avatar f tn Has anyone had to try more then 1 type of medicine to relieve their stomach pain from too much acid, gerd or whatever reason they are on the meds. I tried prevacid for 5 weeks and it didn't help at all. I am now trying prilosec and have been on it for a week now, It does seem to have helped somewhat but I still do have problems. I know some of my problems could be from not eating a lot. I don't know what to eat so sometimes I will skip eating which probably isn't good for my stomach.

Avatar n tn pylori is a bacteria that is able to live in the harsh environment of the stomach. It is suggested to cause GERD and ulcerations.
Avatar f tn I've been having reoccurent upper gastric pain for 11 months now. These attacks come on at different times and I usually end up at the ER. There is really no pattern to them, foods, stress ect. I feel like throwing up, then the pain sets in and I start to sweat and can't breathe and then start to vomit.
Avatar f tn About a week ago, I had a couple of days of palpitations (95 to 110 b.p.m.) constantly. I went to my pain doctor and he noticed it was unusually fast so he told me to stop the Mobic. I had all day fast heart rate for next two days. It's much better now; however, about a week ago, i woke up at around 4:00 a.m. with heart pressure. Usually, I ignore anything with my heart because I suffer from anxiety and i always blame it on that. But, it didn't go away.
