221122 tn?1323014865 Hummmh, Rita I was on Prilosec when the pvcs got real bad and then I had the VT. You may have stumbled onto something here. I have only had a couple PVCs since then and have not taken Prilosec since then. I know one of the side affects of certain GERD Meds are arrythmias that is why I do not take them since being diagnosed with VT. I was just thinking the other day that my pvcs always happen when my reflux is bothering me. Wonder what the connection can be???????
Avatar m tn I was diagnosed in 2004 with a hiatal hernia. I have been on many different medications and prilosec seems to be working the best. I've been taking it for 6+ years and have been told essentially that I will be on it for life as the military (in 2004) would not authorize an operation. I am concerned about the long term effects of medication use. I don't like taking this medication because I don't like pills that keep my body from doing what it is supposed to be doing.
Avatar n tn If this has been determined to be the case, you can consider a referral to a pain clinic for SI joint injections. Steroids would be injected to decrease the inflammation. 2) I am not aware of a hormonal cause that would increase joint flexibility. 3) If spinal stenosis is a concern, a pain clinic or visit to an anesthesiologist can be made to determine if epidural injections would be helpful in pain relief.
Avatar m tn I was diagnosed with some type of neuropathy about 6 years ago of a so far unknown cause. About the same time I developed symptoms of fatique, muscle weakness, joint pain, burning/tinglinng/numbness, loss of balance at times after I eat certain foods. This happens every time I eat certain foods and has become quit disabling. I can only eat all natural vegetables and fresh meats.
Avatar n tn If the enzymes are 3 times more than the upper limit of normal, it has to be evaluated. As far as the side effect of prilosec is concerned, joint pains though reported are not common side effects of prilosec. ================================================================ The information provided is for patients’ education only and is not a medical advice. Avatar n tn Hello, The headaches, dizziness, fuzziness, numbness and nausea can be attributed to migraine or panic attacks. Stress is one of the most important factors for the precipitation of migraine headaches. Migraine headaches usually are described as an intense, throbbing or pounding pain that involves temples or forehead and change sides from one attack to the next.
Avatar n tn Your doctor would have prescribed prilosec because he/she suspects acidity as the cause of pain. However, if you have pain in moving the joint then it can be due to arthritis, osteoarthritis, rotator cuff injury, or due to infection or injury to the shoulder joint. Do discuss this with your doctor and get yourself examined. Take care!
15916551 tn?1444016133 I can give you my opinion but it's not definitive. When you have pain and inflammation in a joint, the pain is not necessarily confined to just the joint. It's like if you fracture a bone - say your thigh. Obviously the thigh hurts - but it can and often does refer pain into the knee or upward into the groin. When my SI Joint flares I also have pain in my flank, down the back of my leg, on the side of my leg, etc. Get the picture?
473384 tn?1210209842 that really contributes to joint pain in the lower extremities and i have seen people get the weight off and the pain is virtually gone....of course i have joint problems and i am not overweight so that is not always the case...mine is in my back and i find that stretching, walking, ice, yoga, heat help mine alot...i do get steroid injections every 4 months and take a steroid pack when it gets out of hand....hold on and try to keep u dose low so that u can get some pain relief post op ..
Avatar f tn In some cases Nexium can cause muscle weakness that could be interpreted as joint pain. You sister may want to discuss the problem with her physician.
424634 tn?1277861128 The GERD pain tends to show up in the outer ears, at the same time I start getting upper-throat acidic pain. The TMD pain is in the inner ear, head, jaw, face, neck, and can radiate as low as the chest at times. You may wan to try something like Zantac (an H2 blocker) or Prilosec OTC (a Proton Pump Inhibitor) to see whether that helps symptoms. Of course, consult with your doc about this. FYI, my first symptoms of GERD were about the same as yours.
Avatar f tn When I was a child, I had severe abdominal pain, diarrhea and constipation with severe joint pain especially my hips fingers and toes. I was a stick thin child and was very picky about what I ate because, most everything made me sick, so I hated eating. My doctor told my parents I was spoiled and was just being dramatic and overly picky. I would have such bad abdominal pains that I would curl up and rock back and forth in agony and anxiety with cold sweats.
Avatar n tn You may also have blood or mucus in your stools, fever, unexplained weight loss, skin rashes, tiredness, or joint pain.-- Crohn's disease (pain in the right side) or ulcerative colitis (with pain in the left side). Pain or tenderness in the lower left side of the abdomen, along with fever. You may also have nausea, vomiting, chills, stomach cramps, and either diarrhea or constipation.----Diverticulitis” Please consult your doctor. Hope this helps.
Avatar n tn I am plagued with fatigue, mild nausea after eating, excessive sweating, muscle and joint pain as well. My ex-wife tells me she has just been diagnosed and succesfully treated for H. Pylori for similar symptoms. My research indicates my symptoms are conststant with HPylori except for the diarhea. Could HP cause diarhea due to excessive acid production & the pain be from an ulcer? Your coments would be appreciated as my doctors seem to go around this pain in the side issue.
Avatar n tn Julie: My heart goes out to you! I, too, continue to suffer with chest pain (I'm 43 years old, F, married, 2 children/ 1 husband :-)). It all began on March 5, 2000 for me, while walking on a nature trail I developed svt/palps/lightheadedness/sweating/something wrong feeling. Had a sustained heartbeat of 180 while resting awaiting the ambulance. During the first 24 hours of hospital, enzyme/ekg changes were noted and I immediately underwent a cath which showed normal coronary arteries.
Avatar n tn I now have a constant sideache on my left side, plus fatigue and a lot of joint pain in my hips and my knees, really painful to sleep at night. I had my gallbladder removed in 1969 so that couldn't be the sideache pain. I am 54 years old and I'm tired of being told it's all part of aging.
Avatar m tn I tried Pepcid first, and after about a week with no results, I tried the Prilosec (omeprazole). After a few days, the pain was gone. I had already taken down the pillow ramp by this time in order not to confuse the results, and so this was the first real good night’s sleep I’d had in years. I did not want to post my account until I had had enough pain-free time to suggest that PPIs were likely a viable solution rather than just a temporary relief.
Avatar n tn then I started to feel it more and more there (though that pain is preferable to feeling it in the chest). Pain gets worse; he ups the prilosec doseage. still the same. I am taking any pain medication I can to numb it. of couse, that's not good for my stomach, but the pain is bad for me too, eh? he has me on smooth muscle relaxants. they don't do a thing. about two months ago, I started feeling queasy, almost like I was pregnant, but I'm not. that went away, though, after a couple of weeks.
Avatar n tn Wombate I have been experiencing something very similar to what you describe, for about 6 months no and the pain seems to get progressively worse. My pain also wakes me up in the early morning (around 4am) but is based in my left side. It is basically impossible to sleep on my left side but sleeping on my right side it is a lot less painful. I feel the pain only in my left side and it increases when breathing in (even during normal breathing but the pain disappears when I get up.
1639131 tn?1510822231 I've just been super sick to my stumach to the point that I've spit up acid and ben having head aches and joint and muscle pain. I have good days as well but just haven't been fealling all that grate.

Avatar f tn My joint pain is deep and pain will travel up and down my legs causing horrific pain. Any suggestions for pain meds could take for this? I'm also on neurotin 1200mg per day and cymbalta 60mg per day. Those help but when I ha e these flareups they are unbearable. I go to my pain Dr Thursday morning and would love suggestions.
1806721 tn?1554337007 I got lots of gas and feel very bloated this morning. Chest pain gets better. Tummy still hurts. Just took some prilosec. I only ate egg noodle, shrimp, and salmon last night. Which one sounds suspicious?
Avatar n tn I have chronic pain in my chest area as well as my joints and such. I knew that chronic joint pain was common with EDS, it is actually a relief to know that my pain can be explained finally after years of misdiagnosis and being called nuts. I didn't realize the chest pain connection though. I assumed that it was because of my chronic lung problems and coughing (which probably does aggrevate my already tender ribs). I agree that GERD could be causing your breathlessness...
Avatar n tn Hi, I have a been experiencing pain in my navel for about two weeks now. It's happened once in the past (3 months ago?), but I thought it was caused by wearing jeans that were too tight (the button pressing into my abdomen in the belly button area). The pain went away and I didn't think twice about it afterwards. The pain returned about two weeks ago. It's not intense, but more like an uncomfortable "pressure." It occurs if I bend over, lean forward, or stretch.
