Yeast infections and late periods

Common Questions and Answers about Yeast infections and late periods

yeast-infection

I too am prone to frequent yeast infections and UTI's for some reason. I don't know anything about the specfic drug that you're referring to, but I thought I'd share some things that have helped minimize them for me. I always seemed to get them every single time I had sex, I mean almost EVERY single time. (We are trying to have a baby, so those infections were pretty much constant!) I started showering and making my husband shower right before any intimacy.
Food allergies are found by trial and error, I think, and they can cause a lot of discomfort for both you and your dog. Yes, Yeast stinks on our Westie. He will lick and chew his paws and leggs raw - hair gone and the skin all festered and red. It is the problem we all have when we itch, we scratch and make it worse until something is done to stop the itch.
It was always my first sign of pregnancy because it would happen exactly 3 days after my fiance and I had sex. And thats what happened this time. I got a yeast infection 3 days after I had sex (on the 12) and I was looking at one of my pregnancy apps and it said that I ovulated on the 12. I started my period January 30-February 3. I dont know how long my cycles are buying they are always normal. I start on the same day every time or just one day late. I was just wondering am I pregnant?
I posted this on the women's health forum, but there don't seem to be many people answering over there. My period is 2 months late, and I have pelvic tenderness. I have had 2 negative HPT's. The 2nd was only a week ago. I am nursing, but have had regular periods all the time since 30 days post partum. My baby is now 9 mos, and is nursing less than before. I think I may have a yeast infection because of itching. I have increased discharge, but not cottage cheesy. I know I should go to the Dr.
I read more on penile yeast infections online, and i took the much publicized spit test first thing this morning. (Found here, but also on countless other sites: http://www.stopyeast.net/saliva.html) The reaction of my spit in the glass was out of a sci-fi movie... it did that exactly what the site said it might if i had high levels of yeast in my body. It webbed out in jellyfishlike strings and clumped together in cloudy particles that fell slowly to the bottom.
I really hope this information helps all you ladies out there that are battling with re-current or stubborn yeast infections. One more thing... yogurt with active live cultures and/or with probiotics WILL help ease discomfort when applied directly to the infection. Just get a maxi pad, place about 2 tbls of plain (sugarless - because it only feeds yeast) yogurt onto the pad and wear it for about an hour. I know this sounds gross, but it does help. (1) it's cold which offers relief.
I have always started on the 26th or the 27th of every month since my son was born last april. I am now 7 days late and cramping every now and then like im going to start bleeding. every time I go to check (because I feel like im leaking) I don't see any signs of blood. ive even reached in there with a tampon to check for any signs of blood and nothing at all. the only thing is is that once I feel hungry and start to eat, I only eat a little bit of what I have and feel like I don't want it..
Here is the rest: A little over a wk later (26th of March), the area showed no sign of healing, so I got a walk-in appointment. The sores had kind of crusted over & were scabbing. They were never filled with puss & they never ruptured. They also never hurt or looked like the herpes pictures I found online... still I thought it could just be a milder case. I requested my results and told the female doctor the whole story.
I know that sounds like an old wives tale but i would literallty get one instantly if he drank beer and gave me oral without brushing his teeth and rinsing with mouth wash,,,, anyways i am now with a new partner for the past 3 months and we recently started having unprotected sex and I have had 2 yeast infections... hopefully the nuvaring will help me out here. I used an over the counter medicine the first time and now am on a prescription terconazole i think it's called.
On the 21st I got a yeast infection that is still there. Other then that I have had minor cramps and my boobs hurt but its the regular boobs soreness you get before your period. No pregnancy symptoms. I have no reason to have a late period (such as stress, weight loss/gain ect) to cause me to miss my period. Any one have any suggestions. I dont know if it matters but I was on BC for almost 6 years, Ortho Tri Cyclen.
no a yeast infection will not mess up your period. im prone to yeast infections & my doctor said that yeast infections never interfere with periods. a lot of things throw off our periods...stress, poor diets, hormonal problems, etc. so, it could be a normal of .
I had skipped 2 periods in my life and this last one I skipped, I was 44 days late, then started the very next day. It is normal to skip a month every now and then..but, if you want to be pregnant, good luck! Keep us updated!
So here I am all confused as to whether having a yeast infection is what is causing me not to start or whether it's because I am indeed pregnant and that's what caused me to get a yeast infection. My periods are like clockwork and never this late. Plus, I didn't start having a yeast infection until I was like already 5 days late and I am never that late. Who knows. I am so confused. I will let everybody know my outcome on Thursday. Any comments would be greatly appreciated.
I returned to my doctor around the 3rd of September complaining of the burning at the tip (not during urination, afterward), crotch discomfort like skin bacteris, and sore throat. He swabbed my throat and found yeast, and I had a white film on my tongue. He put me on 2 weeks of 100 mg flucozanole, stating this would take care of pain in the tip and my throat. He also performed a HIV test which came back negative at 5 weeks.
at this point, you need to continue to be seen monthly as needed for itching to be properly tested for yeast and bacterial infections vaginally. unfortunately the vaginitis/itch cycle has went on for far too long and it's going to take a lot to break it :( not unusual at all to go back and forth between yeast and bv - sometimes when you treat one, it allows overgrowth of the other. what to do for your itching? I recommend taking benadryl pills at bedtime to help with itching.

Also having sex while the other person can transmit infections especially yeast related ones and Candida is a yeast. Please please please DON'T take advice from friends about sex and pregnancy prevention and go to a reliable source like your doctor or other health professional.
Usually when your late people automatically assume your pregnant, not true, obviously! I am only 18 and I do still have irregular periods, but when i had kinda the same symptoms as you ( i had a yellowish almost off-white discharge) i went to he dr. and she told me it was an infection in either my cervix or uterus. after a pap smear and cultures and blood work they found it was in my uterus. she gave me antibotics and it cleared up after the pills were gone. so go get checked.

Dear Doc, I am a 32 years old female, have had re-occuring bladder infections and gross hematuria for the past several years. Many or these UTI's I can pin-point because of a specific event. Because of my job, I am often not able to use the restroom when I need to and have to "hold it" for several hours. During the course of UTI's and having symptons of an UTI, my UA's have usually shown low WBC counts and my general practioner has prescribed Cipro or Imotrex.
There is so much information out there though and it gets pretty scary at times. A lot of stuff links Yeast Infections with Herpes and that is one thing I wasn't tested for because there were no sores or anything. Plus the swab came back that it was a VERY bad yeast infection. It has had me an emotional mess though. I have never experienced anything like this and I started to worry that it was something else and NOT the Monistat.
- I'm 10 days late - My breasts are huge and painful - I have some cramping randomly (and not even everyday) - I have to eat every 3 hours or I feel extremely dizzy and faint (i dont black out though), i feel weak, like my body is exhausted - I have this weird mucus (sorry for the information but i really need help). Its like white and smelly and its kind of a lot..
I started having all kinds of issues such as yeast infections and constant itching and severe burning even when the infection was gone. Within 2 weeks of starting this pill my energy level, motivation and spirit hit rock bottom. I had never been so depressed in my life. I think I cried for a couple weeks strait which didn't make any sense because things in my life were great at the time. Being on this pill was a disaster for me and my relationship.
Finally, a site that lets me know my problem is not unique. Before stumbling upon this site, I could not find any reference to this problem on any medical website. I've had vaginal gas on and off for over 10 years. When it first began, my internist suggested it was sex related. I did not accept that. Since then, I consulted my GYN who suspected a fistula, even though the gas is odorless. I had an ultrasound, D&C, barium enema and colonoscopy, all of which failed to detect a fistula.
I have had swelling to the hood and labias for past 2 months. I have recurrent yeast infections and 2 months ago had one of the worst yeast infections ever. The white specs under the hood was also present...even changed the brand of toilet tissue I use thinking it was from the "softer" brands.Needed to use Monistat 3 to no effect and had to use Monistat7 and be placed on antibiotics.
I am sure you can relate to that feeling when sex is getting really good and then suddenly you gasp with pain because just by moving your legs a particular way he has stretched and split the skin again!! I would like to get to the cause here. I've had reoccuring bladder and yeast infections and now this strange paper cut problem. I use Canestan (might be english brand) which might be a cause. My perinium seems to be short, meaning my vagina and anus are quite close together.
I'm an active, well educated, hard working 30 year old female. I work 50+ hours a week and I workout at the gym a few times a week. My husband and I have a great life together. I have taken a very limited amount of medication over my 12 years of struggling in pain. This is probably not what you pictured when you heard that I have Fibromyalgia. We are stereo typed into a group of whining women (and some men), who are pill seekers, who need to toughen up and deal with life.
I have had two periods since then and my periods are usually 3-4 days of light flow and now they are very very light but last over two weeks. I am going crazy already. I feel like I am a crabby mad woman. I really want to give it time but The long periods are making me and my husband crazy. I have been looking online to see if others who have had longer periods say that they start to fade each month but have not found that yet.
