yasmin and getting pregnant

Im 28 and have never been pregnant slightly overweight but not too concerred and getting it back down periods were always regular and pain free went on for birth control, my husband has 1 child already and decided to start are own family.

got way longer on it- I used to only bleed for 4 days on Aleese, then gradually this increased and due to weight gain and water retention switched to Yasmin...well after a year on that I was bleeding for 8 to 9 days (still bleeding even while taking the 'active' pills) also I started getting cramps and what not and my dr kept saying that should not be happening since you only have a withdrawal bleed...

I recently switched from Ortho-trycyclin to Yasmin, and I was wondering if it may be possible that I could be pregnant....I am due to start next week, and when I switched pills, I just went right to the new ones like normal.

But, because my organism is disposed to endometriosis and I am a rare case in this illness (if I may call it that way), eventhough I was taking Yasmin the chocolate cysts on my left ovary started to grow rapidly and Yasmin was no longer usefull for me, so six months ago I had to do a punction and I started with Zoladex treatment (this injections make you go into the condition of early menopause). I took five injections till now and I have one more and my treatment will finish.

i took yasmin for nearly one year then stopped(my periods were regular while taking yasmin), got pregnant after 2months of stopping yasmin, but unfortunately it was ectopic and so i lost it. i would advice you to be careful once you stop yasmin. Also i was taking caltrate(vitaminD+calcium) tablets once a day.

-S i was only on the the pill for about 5 months. I started on microlite but then was told by my doctor to change to yasmin cause i was getting terrible mood swings. I had to run the 2 different packs into one another. After coming off Yasmin (I was only on it for a month) Ive suffered from panick attacks and very low moods. Can anyone help? should i be worried that im late or havent even got the symptoms of a period?? Thanks!

I am taking Yasmin four years and I never had any problems with mood swings and other horrible things that are caused from hormonal pills (like sweating, depression, anger, irritability). So, from my experience, Yasmin is good, better than some other medications of this kind.

But I thought I would ask, is anyone that has PCOS symptoms (high testosterone, insulin resistance) and on BCP on any other BCP besides Yasmin, and does it control PCOS symptoms? Have you seen any side effects?

I started Yasmin birth control pills 9 days ago and last night i had sex with my boyfriend and he ejaculated inside without a condom. This morning I started taking antibiotics, what are the chances of pregnancy? Does the fact that i started antibiotics after I had sex increase the chance of pregnancy?

Hi. I was on Yasmin three years, after that I was on Zoladex and now I am on Yasmin again. I don't know for sure, but I think that Yasmin prevents ovulation and it makes harder for sperm to reach uterus (it is harder for the fertilized egg to attach to the uterus). I have read this: The primary mechanism of Yasmin is inhibition of ovulation.

I had protected intercourse on 4th day of my cycle and usually my cycle is 30-31 days long. I was still worried so i took 2 Yasmin pill on day 5 and 2 Yasmin pills on day 6. ok i need some help here...i was on yaz for about 10 months when my periods started going hay-wire...like i would get a period in the middle of my cycle and not get my period while taking the"reminder pills"...my dr. gave me yasmin since i guess the level of estrogen is a little stronger...i have been taking it for over a week...i feel pregnant. my body feels just like it did when i was pregnant and i don't remember feeling this way at all when i started the yaz almost a year ago.

The first day I took Isabelle pill and that night I had sensitive skin when touched, my body ached and it felt like I was getting the flu! I had an early night sleep and then woke up feeling fine - def not the flu! I continued to take the pill and noticed that my stomach wasn't processing food properly, I was gassy and had cramps. Hello, I am taking Yasmin five years for treating endometriosis... One of the side effects of this pill (like in most of the BCP) is decreased sex drive. So, that's normal consequence from taking the pill. The sex is very important part of one relationship and you should work on it, to try to find some way, some other methods to increase your sex drive, not just to wait to get your period so you can feel better about having sex desire.

Its not sure fire either since I took it the day after I had unprotected sex and still ended up pregnant. Also, if you are going to engage in sexual activities and you dont want to be pregnant get on birth control. Like Raerae said there are places that will give it to your for free or for very cheap. The morning after pill should never be taken as a substitute for birth control since it can harm your body.

I am a healthy 45 yr old woman who started taking Yasmin on November 26, 2008. My last period was around the 12 of November. I started taking the Yasmin immediately because I wanted to try to hold off the horrible PMS I've been having for the past 6 months or so. With all the commercials you see on TV about YAZ and Yasmin and all the problems it has caused, i cant imagine that the positives out weigh the negatives. Currently I am on Levlen birth control, it has the minimum amount of estrogen and it works wonderful! But because everyone is different, i would suggest doing some research on birth control types and find whats best for her, then talk to a doctor about those types you have looked over. Good Luck!

If you missed 2 doses of yasmin, take them on next or as soon as you remember, then you can not be pregnant.
