what is the difference between xyzal and zyrtec

I checked my favorite drug site and they are the same. OTC Zyrtec is essentially the same medication. Some people say that Xyzal is a more 'purified" form of the chemical. You can try Zyrtec to see if it works as well. Take care.

I have been dealing with hives since 2000. All i have to do is be in the sun and i break out. I have tried Zyrtec, Allegra, Singular and now i'm on Xyzal. The Xyzal i only tried one time and woke up the next morning feeling like i was drunk and hit by a train. It left a horrible taste in my mouth. I am so sick of these hives. I'm getting married in August and have a terrible farmers tan and i am asking for any advice on what to do.

Hello there, Welcome to the allergy forum. I see you joined Med help this month. You say you have taken the xyzal tablets for 5 years. That's a long time to be taking a medication. Here is what I would suggest. I would make an appointment with the doctor who prescribed the xyzal tablets for you. I would tell your doctor what you just shared in your post. That if you do not take the tablet for more than a day, you experience itchiness all over your body especially on your arms and legs.

ve tried em all, Loratadine, Claritin, XYZal, Benedryl, Zyrtec, etc..... I see an allergist on the 28th, but was wondering if anyone has ever experienced tingling/shaking due to allergy/sneezing.

NOTHING works to control the itching except Calamine lotion. It provides the only relief and that is temporary at best. Between the allergist and two dermatologists I've tried just about everything. The itching is driving me nuts! Any suggestions?

My daughter of age 5, yrs got hives(Acute urticaria) on 7thSep,2010 suddenly .Before this she had suffered with stomach pain and diarrhea and got cured.When she is using Zyrtec,get relief.when she is not taking Zyrtec,hives are coming Again.When I go to dermatologist he had given steroids. when she use steroids, hives are increasing than normal stage.Another Dermatologist had given zentel, Ivermectol for only one dose. and xyzal daily.Now She is not getting hives than previous days.

HI, Mar 2018 I was fine. Allergy test revealed Cedar, Elm tree allergen. I began allergy shots, for a month, afterwards I began sneezing up a storm. Developed chronic rhinitis in the process. I've also developed montly infections, non stop since Mar 2018. Was on antibiotics for 4 months straight, last year. This year Feb/March been on antibiotics Amox/Clav. Each time, I complete course of antibiotics, I begin sneezing up a storm !!

I have been trying to google this and find out what I can in the difference between these 2 areas as far as where lesions present in different areas. So far I have only become more confused. Thank you in advance.

I was diagnostic with anemia like a month ago. Im really scared cause i have never in my life had hives until halloween 2008. At first i thought it was just a rash but then it started going all over my body. My ankles, knees, and elbows were really swollen. They are still kind of itchy, burn, and hurt. I went to the doctor he gave me some pills called xyzal.

for 7 months i was on 40 - 50 mg of ultralan DAILY (it seemed to work better than Prednisone), 2 atarax tablets, 3-4 Xyzal (or zyrtec) daily. if i even tried to lessen the dose then my lips, tongue, eyes and throat would swell. the hives lessened but never fully went away. my weight ballooned and i was in a constant stupor and NOT HAPPY. oh noooo. eventually i started bi-weekly sessions of acupuncture which really really helped and finally i was off the medication.

I am taking xyzal but my appetite has slowly decreased every day. Now i am to the point that I dont want to eat at all. If I do eat all I want to eat is nuts. Also have been trying to get pregnant for 1 1/2 years after miscarriage.

Have tried several medications such as Zyrtec D, Flonase, Nasonex, Xyzal....also nasal rinses, and some vitamins and herbs...nothing works for long. Today the doc decided to start testing me for allergies to try to get to the root of the fluid and swelling in my ears. Your results sound interesting. My best way to describe the baby movement (early movement) have you ever felt a gold fish swim in a bag of water?!?! That light swooshing is simular to the baby moving. Also when a fish pecks at the bag is simular to the kicks! I alway been able to feel the baby by laying on my belly (at this point of pregnancy it won't hurt baby)! If you lay on your belly and feel that fish movement you will know if it's gas or movement when you are not laying on your belly!

m on day 12 off the norco 10s(vics when my script ran out) I am doing pretty good besides the sleep part but my question is...what is the difference between addiction and dependence? what is the difference between Graves Disease and Hyper thyroid? I have been diagnosed with Graves Disease, I am scheduled for surgery but wonder if the leave half or part of the smallest side of the my gland, will that cure it, or will I be at risk of having to get yet another surgery?

This can happen if the child is in a hurry to pass urine. The child stops the urine flow voluntarily and since the bladder is not empty, it will fill up again. You can talk to your son regarding this, and train him and put him on a schedule to pass urine every 2-4 hours to start with and slowly increase the gap. There are medical causes too like diabetes mellitus and diabetes insipidus. Small for size bladder is another possibility. Please consult an urologist. Hope this helps.

t remember the name, Zyrtec, Xyzal and Ranitidine. I have changed my shampoo to Neutrogena, stopped using hairspray and use Neutrogena lotion. Nothing is working. Do you have any ideas what this could be it is driving me crazy.

What is the difference between herniation and overcrowding, I understand the concept of each but from a Chiari perspective is there a difference, if the tonsils have herniated into the foramen magnum then surely this leads to overcrowding….. on some of the medical sites they talk of these as separate issues, others role them into one. No matter what time I go to bed, 10pm, 1am, 3am and take my Xyzal and Flucin-cream, I have for the past 6 days woke up between 7:43 and 7:48 am. No alarm, no usual schedule of that, nothing. My current dermotologist takes over a month to get into, and he seems convinced that its an allergy thing and wants to run a allergy test on me. I think it has nothing to do with allergies.

In the past I have taken Zyrtec, Claritin, and Xyzal....Zyrtec seems to work best for me. You can get both Zyrtec and Claritin over the counter, and both come in a generic form (I take the generic form of Zyrtec). This helped my allergies tremendously, I would recommend taking one daily while your symptoms are in full-force, and then backing off to just whenever it's needed when your symptoms settle down.
