what does mobic do

i actually had to be on mobic for a while. its generic name is meloxicam..its a nonsteriodal anti inflammitory. i am no longer taking it, but its good and works well.

Now, since like a month ago, I have been feeling like big pulses on my legs, buttock, arms, neck, face, back and stomack at times. It does not last too long but, i do have then through out the whole day. It is somewhat worrying me. Does anyone know why this is happening or what lab test can I get done?

The others here are better at explaining how long withdrawals last, what to expect, what to do, what to buy. It was 5 good days of the harder withdrawals off of lortab for me back when I quit it abruptly or as they say here, "cold turkey," or CT. I don't understand why your doctor didn't work up a plan to taper you off of the lortab. He had to know what you would go through.

wants me to take Suboxone. Do you think I need it and if so what is the shortest amount of time that I will need to take it? Is the withdrawal from Suboxone the same as for Percocet?

I am taking Levothyroxin 50 mcg and Mobic for inflamation. My THS ( I think) was 17 the first time I had it checked. I do not know what is is now but as of February it was within the normal range. What exaclty is my swelling and joint pain related to?

I work for an Ortho Surgeon who specializes in knee and hip replacements and also sees a lot of patients with severe arthritis, he does use Mobic alot but also uses the Arthrotec. Find a good dr. and get some definitive answers then proceed from there as far as what medications will help you. Keep us posted and welcome to the forum.

what is mobic? Ssgtwirtz--when did you realize you had worries about this combo of drugs? And i see this sort of question a lot about patients leaving the dr. office without full knowledge of effects. Then many times unless directly asked the same for the pharmacy! I know it should be patients responsibility but often they are occupied with more pressing concerns---pain---sickness- anxiety etc. so maybe----maybe the drs. ands pharmacists are just not taking the time for it?

My doctor wrote me a script for Mobic to help with some nerve pain. Im wondering if anyone knows if its similar to tramadol at all, Im hoping not, but anyone who has any helpful info please let me know. I cant start back on opiates again for the pain and Ive heard too many bad stories about tramadol to even consider it as an alternative. I can wait to feel free, im not rushing it anymore than i have because if i let the WD get to bad im afraid of what i might do. So, now the next problem, i hurt, im in pain, YES it is legit pain im only 3 months post op from major surgery and a chronic pain suffer, does anyone have any ideas as to what helps for bone/joint pain? I take excederine and Aleve, is there a stronger RX that's not addicting? OR do i stick to just OTC? Any and all ideas im open.......

I have had 18 pt visits (traction now up to 32 lbs.. does provide relief temporary,(24hr) also take mobic.. recently prescribed a home traction unit.. confused as if this is right treatment..

My baby girl is sick. She ate dinner last night, through up 3 times. I feed her chicken & rice this morning. Needless to say, she through that up. I can't get her to drink, take her mobic or glucosamine. She only drank a little after eating this morning. She's been sleeping all day. She's 12 yrs. old & usually just sleeps most of the time anyways. She's had surgery on both ACL'S, one 5 ys. ago & he left back leg 3 yrs. ago.

not at this point, we switched medical coverage and are having problems with finding doctors as well as coverage continuation for certain meds and supplies that is why he was switched from mobic to gabapentin, one costs 80+ the other only 13. We are sceptical of what doctors say and always try to find first hand from others their experience he was misdiagnosed twicw before he went into ketoacidosis and they figured out he was diabetic.

Starting this new anti-inflammation med and I read it could cause weight gain and swelling.....anyone have this as a symptom? How well does it work? Have a lot of pain from herniated discs in my neck and back.

Today a Doctor gave me a script for Mobic,for wrist pain that I have had for the past month from repative work,my Urate levels are at 52 just over limit.Im on Asprin and fluid tablets which can raise these levels. A specialist doctor I saw says it is gout I don't believe it is...I'm unsure about taking the Mobic though for my wrist ??

t know what to do anymore my pain is the worst as soon as i get up in the morning and ranges from 3-7 ( on 1-10 scale)as a daily average...I don't think this is a tension headache. I'm not under stress to cause this "tension" Why does my face hurt 24/7? ...Also when i wake up i often feel like i have fluid behind my ears? ibprofin helps with the pain but is only a temporary fix....I feel like i need to find the cause of my pain not treat the symptoms...
