You might want to look into other medications you're taking. I've been on benazepril for blood pressure for over 20 years and have had periods of horrible fluid retention (long before hypo set in), but recently, over a few months the swelling was so bad, I couldn't even get shoes on 1/2 the time. A complete heart work up and ultrasound on my legs showed that there were no heart related issues that would cause the swelling.
Glad to hear he's feeling better :) what are you feeding him? If your vet is worried about him gaining weight, you could add a little pasta to his food... it's higher in calories and bland enough that it won't make his levels go up or down. I highly recommend the kidney food or homemade diet.
1 more question: what type of magnesium do you take? Oxide, Citrate or some other type. . .I've read comflicting reports about absorbablilty. thanks!
I was shocked because my diet has not included simple carbs for the past 6 months. Can you give me some insight as to what may be driving up my fasting gluclose and A1C if I'm not eating high carb foods? I do not cheat on my diet and I exercise 3-4 days per week. I would be happy to adjust my diet again, but I'm at a loss as to what can be causing this. Thank you.
There are a lot of things I like to do, but unfortunately, some of them aren’t practical for my circumstances. I’ve always loved to walk, so that’s my # 1 “go to” exercise. I have a “winter neighbor” who is here from Oct – Apr, so I have a walking partner all winter. During the summer, since it gets so hot here (and my husband doesn’t like me walking alone), I often resort to the treadmill. My second favorite is yoga.
His blood sugar came back fine so it's not Diabetes. It's starting to look more and more like Cushings. I don't know what we'll do if it is. Money is real tight right now and I heard the treatments are very expensive. I pray it's not but I guess I'll take one day at a time. I guess we'll finally find out what they've suspected the last couple of years, whether he truly does have Cushings.
It leaks out at night when lyng in prone position and seems like sweat with the area and clothes all wet and when up and moving gravity pulling fluid Ito ankles and feet, this seepage feels like your feet are sweating.......at least that's what my doc attributes my symptoms to.
When she goes through these spells does that mean she cant breath? cause I can hear it in her chest. like a weez. PLEASE help. I'm just at a loss of what to do anymore. But, when she isn't going through these spells she is as happy as can be. Running around like a puppy.
scared to take next one prescribed!! I've been to an Allergist this past week for skin testing... but, does anyone else suffer from BP med allergies? I get itchy all over, cheeks swell, face puffs a bit and face and neck turns bright red...Help!
I'm asking this because I'd like to get a feel for where you are at w/the meds, how long it's been, etc. Sounds like you were dx'd quickly. what did the reports say in reference to demyelinating lesions? ARe they in your brain and your spine? If you are able, please describe your pain. The narcotics will not work for CNS related pain from what I've learned here.
When you suggest someone should do their investigation what does that say about the treating doctors'? They don't know about the treatment or don't approve?
My 12 year old was just diagnosed with it the other day. I would like to know what to expect and what to be on the look out for. Currently he is on 50mg. Lasix, which I understand is a very low starting dose and he weighs 121 lbs. I'm not seeing much improvement. Still coughing/gagging and fatigued. I see no increase in urine output so I'm worried that it's not getting the fluid off his lungs. Also, his appetite has tanked. does lasix effect their appetite? This is weighing very heavy on me.
They are usually self-sufficient and, needless to say, I really didn't know what to look for in a sick dog. Once we got to the vets, she was quite bad off. Dr Howard (whom I will forever be indebted to for saving her life) had to give her nitroglycerin pills to jolt her back. After many days of EKGs, ultrasounds, bloodwork, we started our daily reigm of meds. One of her Dr's was a holistic vet. She actually did not recommend anything because of her condition.
what is he like at night? does he sleep through? Let me know what your vet says, once you have a few minutes to spare. Until then, take good care of yourself and give Gilly a big hug from me.
If you find that he does not like the distilled water, try mixing it half and half with his regular water. Best wishes Melissa...Hugs to you and Zeus.
I too have had these problems. I'm 43 and have been diagnosed in the past with borderline hypertension. After I eat salty junk food; fries, hamburgers, chips etc, even soda and beer would trigger my heart rate and blood pressure to increase. For me, I felt my body was telling me "what the hell did you just put in me, I don't like it". I wasn't fat, only about 25 pounds or so overweight. I'm 5'10 and weighed 188 at the time. This experience has been life changing.
Ablation changed my life. I've had nearly a lifetime of SVT until last November when I finally decided to have it done. It was the best thing I ever willingly chose to do outside of marrying my high school prom date 38 years ago! I too would get episodes from landing hard which created a jarring vibration. I use to get them from lots of other stimulus too. I sisn't say how long you've had it, but to be free of it is truely life altering.
Talk about primitive camping! During those years, that end of the island was nearly deserted - nothing like what you see there today. Our dogs loved the whole camping routine, but once we bought a boat (actually, a series of 4 over the years) the camping ended much to the relief of my back. Where do you two like to camp?
