While living in the US I was using Benazepril 40 mg, but now I'm living in Ecuador and that med is not available here not as lotensin on benazepril.
What can I sustitute it with?
t had any other problems with Lisinopril besides the cough and I am scared to change meds and take the chance of worse side effects. I am just wondering if anybody has any thoughts on Lisinopril vs Losartan to help me decide if I should change meds.

Could you tell me how long it took for those rates to climb? He has been on Coreg for about 10 months, Lisinopril (previously Benazepril) just recently. We have asked for another echocardiogram to measure ejection rate. We knew that there was interrater reliability issue with this test, but were shocked to learn that when the doctor reads these, he does so by visually estimating the action of the heart! My husband wants to wait for several months to see the effectiveness of the supplements.
I'm now taking Amlodipine 2.5mg started yesterday, I was originally taking lisinopril 10mg and metoprolol 25mg. I was fine with lisinopril and metoprolol the only issue was when I get a cough it will last 2 to 3 months, I can't get any sleep at all do to dry cough. I was on benazapril for hbp for quite a while, developed a slight dry scratchy cough my doctor described as benazepril cough. He changed me to valsartan last week and thats where the real fun began :-( 3 days on valsartan and I was having horrible side effects of dizziness, rapid heart rate, general feeling of crappiness, even slight shortness of breath with the slightest exertion None of which I experienced with the benazepril.

It really depends on why your vet put her on Benazepril? Is it for diagnosed high blood pressure - or is it to help the kidneys function better through increased blood flow?
Benazepril is a good drug for either, but if it is merely to help the kidneys (in other words, if your dog does not already have high blood pressure), then extreme caution is needed.
I have been taking 40 mg lisinopril for 3 months. It works on my BP but I am coughing and my nose is running.
tony thanks for your response the benazepril is to treat the hypertension and to reduce protein loss through the kidneys the amlodipine also for hypertension and control her plood pressure which was elevated the plavix is to reduce the chance of blood clots i also give her fish oil and give her chopped green cabbage with meals , i have started to wake up and give her a meal at 2;00 am and seems to have stopped the vomiting of bile . when karly was diagnosed in oct of 2015 she weighed 9.
I was started on 3.125 mg 2x/d 4 months ago. also lisinopril and effient and lipitor. all due to an MI and stent in RCA. Dr took me off lisinopril due to dry cough about 6 weeks ago and upped coreg to 6.25 mg. cough resolved but I have been having early morning rapid heart beat (wakes me up) in recent weeks and my tinnitus has become much worse. My upper back pain which started while on drugs is also worse since the dosage went up.
I am 75. I take 75 mg of atenolol and 40 mg of benazepril hcl every day. I had an echo stress test (speed increases every two minutes) and at 6 minutes my blood pressure starting falling so the test was stopped and the doctor said sometimes with blood pressure medicine that happens. He said my heart was fine. I had a by-pass 12 years ago. So do I have to worry?

A relatively low dose of Methimazole was prescribed, along with Lisinopril, and Metoprolol. I have been taking the same dosages for all those years, except my dosage for Methimazole was brought down to 1 and 1/2 pills (5 mg pills) about a year ago.

20 mg in 7 am , and 20 mg Lisinopril in 7 pm (so total = 40 mg Lisinopril per day). During the day (systolic) hypertension goes 150-160 mmHg and only in 2-4pm it is 130 mmHg (and at 10-12 pm). What should be done for this patient. Maybe trying a diuretic (hydrochlorthiazid) and lowering the dose of Lisinopril? WE WENT TO ANOTHER CARDIOLOGIST YESTERDAY WHO PRESCRIBED MY HUSBAND LISINOPRIL FOR BP. WE TOLD THE PHYSISIAN THAT HE HAD BEEN TAKEN OFF OF THAT BECAUSE OF BOTTOMING HIS BP OUT. On the 30 day follow up from hospitalization and another echocardiobram I was told my heart function was up to 30%. My lisinopril went from 10 to 20 mg. On my 30 day follow-up office visit from the following cardiocatherization I was told my heart was functioning at 25% even though I was feeling better than before I had the cardiac event in December. Even though I was feeling better the doctor increased my lisinopril to 40mg. I don't get it.
s picked about 7 hours after taking Lisinopril and was really bad at about 12 hours after taking Lisinopril. I experienced about 3100 PVC's during this 24 hr holter report of which approximately 1600 of them came in this 5 hour period between the 7 hour and 12 hour mark post Lisinopril. I do have about 20-80 PVC's per hour during the rest of the day. any thoughts???
I take Coreg(Carvedilol) and Lisinopril. I still want children very badly and was told that basically, there were meds that I can take instead of Lisinopril, but I would have to stop taking Coreg. Of course, I would just have to see how I would do without Coreg... Are there any alternatives to Coreg?
I have had worsening rhythm problems over the last several years, dating all the way back to viral myocarditis in 1993 when I had a resting pulse of 180 for nearly 6 months. I had three ablations in the last couple years that were unable to fix it. They just kept adding more and more meds until I fell over pulseless. Now I'm on coreg, flecainide, diltiazem, and lisinopril. I never have had high blood pressures and all these sometimes about tip me right over.
I have been taking Lisinopril for 2 years and since then my resting heart rate is between 90-100. Here recently though after I take Lisinopril it has jumped to 130 when walking 100 when resting. I take Lisinopril in the morning and my pulse jumps but at night it gos back to being okay (Lisinopril's half life is 12 hours). I haven't taken today because I was out but my resting pulse is 90 and when I went to WalMart it went no higher than 110 unlike 140 yesterday.
