Can wellbutrin XL cause nightmares? I have noticed since I have been taking it since November 16th that I have nightmares every night.
Hi, I was taking Zoloft (75 mg) for 4 months and requested to switch to something else due to extreme fatigue, weight gain, and other side effects. My doc just prescribed wellbutrin XL (150mg) to begin. First, I am to take Zoloft at 50mg for one week then down to 25 mg for the next week before I can begin my wellbutrin. My first question: is this the proper way or recommended schedule to wean off Zoloft? Can I cut down even further and shrink the two weeks to get off Zoloft into just one?
My doctor gave me a perscription for severe depression but he wrote it for wellbutrin XL 150 mg. The past 3 days I have been on the W XL and my mood has worsened to even worse than it was before taking wellbutrin. I'm going to try and go back on the SR 100mg now and see if there is a difference.. My question is it possible that once version of the drug makes me more depressed while the other once makes me happier?
After searching the internet and coming up with nothing time and time again about this mix... I am left in a slight dilemma. Firstly,I take wellbutrin XL 150 mg per day for depression. I find it is working well for me. It does not cause me to be agitated at all. In fact, I feel totally normal on it. It has had the opposite effect on me I find, making me more relaxed or sleepy at times. I take the wellbutrin XL at 8am everyday. By the time 5pm rolls around, I want to hit the gym.
The way we got around it was a 150 xl dosage with a regular 75 around lunch. So far as how wellbutrin works, last I knew the jury was still out as some of it's affects are not entirely understood.
My doc wants me to take Lexapro 10 mg for panic disorder and depression but I get sooo tired and told him that I'd need something more energizing to keep me going and get me off the couch, wellbutrin XL works wonders in that regard. I haven't heard from the doc yet...maybe he thinks I'm crazy lol.
I have switched from prozac to wellbutrin xl due to sexual side affects. Prozac worked great for everything else for the past 11 years. I have been on wellbutrin for 3 days and have severe insomnia, constipation and dizziness. Will these side effects last long? Will they go away eventually?
I have been on wellbutrin xl for a little over a month. I feel like I am starving all of the time! I can't seem to control myself. My mood is better most of the time but I still feel like I could explode! Maybe I haven't been taking it long enough. Before I started taking it I had lost 40 lbs. I have started to regain some of that. Also, the seizures that everyone is talking about is making me a little nervous. I also take metformin.
I'm taking 30mgs Paroxitine, 30mgs Remeron and 450mgs wellbutrin. wellbutrin is now SR as I cannot afford the XL and I'm taking all in generic form.
I was experiencing serious fatigue and lack of motivation from the medication and spoke with my Dr about switching to wellbutrin. She has given me wellbutrin XL 300mg per day and has me stopping the Effexor. She had me take 150 mg for three days, then go down to 75 mg for three days and then start the wellbutrin on day 7 taking half a tablet for a week and then going on to the full Rx of 300mg. I am on day 4 of taking wellbutrin (1/2 tab) without any Effexor.
I have been taking wellbutrin XL 150mg for a little under two months, for a combination of fatigue/very mild depression, plus I wanted to quit smoking. Well, I quit smoking, I am in therapy for the depression, and I have made some lifestyle changes (healthier diet, regular exercise) to help with my fatigue. I wish to stop taking the wellbutrin, but I am on the lowest dose. How do I stop taking it without suffering withdrawal symptoms?
So my psychiatrist began me on the lower doses of wellbutrin while weaning me off the celexa. After 3 weeks of misery the 300 mg dosage of wellbutrin finally kicked in and I was fine again. I was fine for 4 weeks and then i had another relapse. This time the psychiatrist upped my dosage of wellbutrin to 450mg and put me back on a low dose(10mg) of celexa. He thought maybe i should not have been weaned completely off the celexa.
I still don't feel 100% and have been back on the brand TOPROL XL for 9 days now. Keep in mind I didn't know what was happening to me, I never thought twice about the switch to generic, it was cheaper and I also had a lot of stress going on in my life at the time. My pharmacacy switched my "Toprol XL 50 mg" to a Generic one called "Metoprolol Succinate ER 50 mg" (manufactured by Sandoz) in December 2007.
My psych started me on wellbutrin XL 150mg 1x daily. I'm also taking Celexa 20mg 1x day, fluoxetine 10mg 1x day, and depakote 700mg 1x day. I began the wellbutrin because the SSRI's I've been taking cause me to feel emotionless. Also, them along with the depakote make me crave food alot. The goal is to start weaning off of the SSRI's slowly. Since taking the wellbutrin one week ago, I'm experiencing quite a bit of anxiety and increased depression. My psych gave me .
wellbutrin XL 300mg daily Buspar HCL 60 mg daily Lamictal 125 mg daily Abilify 2mg daily Prozac 10 mg daily I've been a "napping" person since a teen and have been able to sleep in on the weekends for many years. However, for at least a year now, I've been sleeping 12 to 14 hours on days when I don't have to be somewhere and can take a nap if I sleep 10 hours or less (sometimes more).
I have been on wellbutrin XL 300 mg for the past 6 months. Anxiety is still a problem and after some research I began taking 5htp last week. It is still relatively new to say much about it, but I have had MUCH less anxiety in the past 4 days. In regards to my research, Burprorion/wellbutrin is a DOPAMINE and NORAPANEPHRINE reuptake inhibitors and 5-htp is a SEROTININ precurser, so the two should not pose a problem.
Do you know if there is more benifits as far as weight lost with the wellbutrin SR then the wellbutrin XL.
My doctor increased the wellbutrin XL to 300 mg daily, but when the fatigue (and weight) did not change, he also included 20 mg of Methylin ER, twice daily to the mix. So I'm currently taking 150 Effexor XL, 300 wellbutrin XL and 40 (20, twice per day) of Methylin ER. The Methylin is great and gives me an added boost, but I still feel tired. I have tried to reduce the Effexor to 75, but have immediately noticed a change in my mood and become quite "snappy" towards people.
i guess that's all list of medications i take--alprazolam, diazapam, wellbutrin xl, ambien cr, robaxin, promethazine, furomeside, metropolol B/p. gabapentin, fish oil high chol, aspirin 81mg, levothyroxin, requip, prevacid, hydrocodone, celebrex, vytorin, i think that's it this is just off the top of my head. oh yeow a multi vitamin for over 50 i just started.
But how can I figure out if it's one or the other? I started taking Bupropion (wellbutrin XL 150mg) 2 weeks ago, and now i can say it helped with anxiety and mood but my lack of emotions is still there and no libido improving.. Is taking wellbutrin safe in case i have low receptors instead of low dopamine? will the increase in dopamine due to wellbutrin cause a further decline in receptors in response to the higher amount of dopamine caused by the drug?
I have been on low dose Klonopin for 1 1/2 years for an anxiety disorder. Doing well until recently. Recently, I have experienced depressive symptons. While the Klonopin may be a contributing factor, I still need an anti-anxiety med. I know this. My experiences with SSRI's have been awful and they aren't a good option for me. CBT has been of limited help. My doctor has given me some options. One of these is to TRY wellbutrinXL.
With no success with my weights loss or the fatigue feeling, he prescribed wellbutrin Xl (not started yet) to counter these side effects, he said it might help me lose weight and gain energy. I am now worried about more side effects and actually becoming depressed, or worse having suicidal thoughts because I will be taking two antidepressants.
It wasn't until my doctor prescribed wellbutrin XL that my life got back to pretty much normal after 5 months. Now I have to take 2 anti-depressents. Also, my menstrual cycle is still not regulated. (Although I take medication for my MS, I have never experienced menstural cycle issues until I took the Pegasys shot.) So, to make a long story short, has this ever happned to anyone else out there, or am I the only clinical trial?
I had problems with insomnia so my psych added 100mg Zoloft and changed the wellbutrin to 150mg XL once a day. I take the wellbutrin in the morning and I take the Zoloft at night at night before I go to sleep. I wake up feeling really groggy and foggy headed. It takes me a good few hours to fully wake up. I'm good for a few hours and then by 12pm I just crash. By 9pm I'm wide awake! I have to work at 8:30 am so I need to sleep a full night to be able to work the next day.
My doctor diagnosed me with hypothyroidism, TSH level 45, last October after I had gone to see her for depression. I am currently taking 50mg synthroid and 300mg wellbutrin XL and after some rough spots have felt good the last 3 months. Lately though I have just visited the doctor becauseI have been experiencing a racing pulse, light sensitivity, and have trouble sleeping (mind racing). The doctor has now prescribed 25 mg Xanax 2x a day for panic attacks.
