I was in a half cast, basically on the back of my leg and below the foot for a touch over a week, so I was unable to move my ankle and leg and was on crutches. Then 2 days ago I went to the outpatients department and the doc took the cast off me and told me to start walking on it with the aid of crutches as it isn't the weight bearing bone.
He said that the bone will heal by itself without the cast and even with me putting a bit of pressure on it.
my son had nenmonia which led to ostomialitus and a broken leg. this was all eighteen months ago.
he is now 3 and a half years old but still walks with a very stiff leg and can not walk up and down stairs with out putting his hand on his knee to use as a support or for leaverage.
he has recovered his muscle lost which happened due to his broken leg.
His pediatrition has no answer to this stiffness, walking issue...
s still pretty swollen and im having trouble with movement of it, but seems to get better everyday.Doctor says i should be walking on it but it really hurts just standing on it with half body weight. If i dont start walking on it by the end of the week should i go see the doctor again? When i got the cast off last wednsday the doctor said it was about 60% to 70% healed.
I can walk without crutches I do have a bit of a limp at the minute. Walking up stairs is a little more difficult I have to step good leg first. My fib is still broken and I hear it click when I walk. I was told this is normal and it will heal on its own and not to worry about it. I stopped using crutches after 3 weeks (only used them for really long walks) what I did to help walking is stand with my crutches but not using them, Then shift my weight over to the bad foot.
It pops when i squat down or still hurts walking too much or up and down stairs. Also i can move my leg around and it pops. And during alone time with my husband you can hear it pop.
It has been about 6 years since it broke. Now you have me thinking about mine when my baby drops or birth. I already have an 11yr old so, i had nothing to worry about their.
The result was a double compound fracture of my right leg. Both major bones were broken and exposed about an inch about the ankle joint. My question; I generally wear softer soled shoes ( walking tennies, etc.
Did the Vet mention what type of therapy? Since this is a small dog, I thing aquatic therapy would really benefit her and you should be able to use your bathtub. Ask your Vet if you can do that.

About five years ago I broke my right tibia. It didn't heal properly and after six months a rod was inserted. After a year I was back to playing tennis, golf, etc. I had it x-rayed about 1 year ago after a spell of aching. The orthopedist said I could have the rod removed but advised against it. Recently it has started to ache quite a bit. I did drive about 600 miles with few stops and that night it ached almost as much as the night I originally broke it and before the cast was put on.
The various causes of leg pain are atherosclerosis, deep vein thrombosis - leg pain on walking (A blood clot in a deep vein), Leriche syndrome (block in abdominal aorta and/or main leg artery), limb ischaemia (low oxygen to limbs), sciatica, spondylitis of lower vertebrae and peripheral vascular disease (arteries of limbs are involved). Doppler tests will rule out the possibility of involvement of an artery or vein. An angiogram too can be done.
i realized why it was swelling and i had sooo much pain in my leg. I was basically walking, running, and playing around on a broken bone. Wow. I really do thank you for sharing your comment with me. I wish you the best of luck of trying to find out why the edema stopped. But its great to here you only just the little triggers.
I found her below with only a limp on her back right leg. She had pain in the leg and for a day or two just slept in the bed. After observing her for a couple of day I noticed that she continued to use the litter box (although in pain) continued to eat well and play. Now she even runs around and seems to have her same attitude as before, but she doesn't use her back right leg. It seems that the problem is in her hip.
t need surgery and my bone was repositioned and i was put in a cast. I had my sixteenth birthday with a cast on my right leg and i have had to cancel my driving test as i can't drive with a cast on. I will be with a full walking cast for another 2 weeks (its been 5) and then i will have a short walking cast for another 3 weeks. I had surgery in 2013 and I couldn't sit on my legs without a pillow had severe nerve damage and then had a L5 S1 spinal fusion and I swear I am worse I have severe muscle spasms through the night that I want to cry I have to get up and walk them out and they also comes in my thigh. I also have severe neuropathy in my left foot my leg is very sensitive to touch to pants legs washing my leg putting shoes and socks on and get these shooting strong pain.
While walking at the end of July, a pitbull bit my leg. It didn't tear my leggings, and didn't appear to have broken the skin in the beginning. A couple of days later, I had on jeans that rubbed off a scab and there was a little bleeding. Nothing major. It felt like being pinched. I called the sheriff's department and had to wait about 40 minutes for a deputy to arrive, but I declined an ambulance because I wasn't bleeding--outwardly, anyway.
