Vyvanse with caffeine

Common Questions and Answers about Vyvanse with caffeine

vyvanse

Hello my name is John and was wondering if anyone can share experiences with Vyvanse. I started Vyvanse 3 months ago and my Doctor started me on a low dose and slowly upped the dose to 50 mg which worked great for me, but I wanted to see if 60 mg would benefit me more. I tried it for 2 weeks and it was definitely too much, it made me very up tight and not myself. So I went back down to 50 mg and now it seems if the 50 mg doesn't work as good as before. Has anyone experienced this?
gave me Wellbutrin and it produced none of the side effects you mention except decreased cravings for caffeine and sweets. Our pharmacist said vyvanse is a lot like adderall; he said everyone seems to be using it who would have previously been on adderall. It is very trendy right now. But I do not think it would help with anxiety at all, and I would guess anxiety might be causing your heart rate to be rapid. The Wellbutrin is a stimulating anti-depressant.
He then prescribed to me the amphetamine, Vyvanse (30mg). I was to take it the very next morning after breakfast. I have had very few problems with the my other medications, like the antidepressant, Zoloft (50mg), and the antihistamine, Zyrtec (10mg). But I have started to notice some very disturbing and confusing side effects the same day I started taking this. On Friday, I had taken one pill in the morning and left to go to school (I had taken my other medications the night before).
He takes 50 mg of Vyvanse daily and was wondering if anyone has experienced this side effect with Vyvanse. Thank you.
Think it might be easier to deal with a 4th to start with. And if you don't notice any effect, I'd probably wait till the next day to up the dose. Sounds like you have a good doctor. Don't worry about communicating with him. Its important at the start. It sounds like he has experience working with adults, so he will be able to tell you what is going on. Best wishes!
used to self-medicate with caffeine all day long (black coffee) I work 13-15 hrs a day 3 days a week. I have Arthritis pretty bad in my hips, knees, wrist & hands that cause me constant pain. I take 600mg. Ibuprofen every six hours ATC just to maintain so I can work and function. I do not want to take Opiates and I Do Not. I would APPRECIATE ANY ADVICE or SUGGESTIONS That Will be Helpful. I feel Terrible if I get up and Do Not drink my Coffee.
It must be driven by adrenaline/cortisol. I've had these since I was a teenager (feeling them right after I fall asleep), however whenever I am an SSRI's (anti-anxiety) for longer periods of time, they disappear. I think those of us who have heart arrhythmias taught ourselves to be super vigilant and pay attention to every little thing that happens with our bodies, although the vibrations I feel are intense and disrupt my sleep often.
My son is five and has been struggling with emotional, behavior, discipline problems from about two years old. He recently got kicked out of the preschool hes been at for two year (also where I work) and my life has been a complete roller coaster, he started kindergarten 3 weeks ago and has already been to the principal's office 3 times, detention once and suspended once. He is the sweetest, kindest, caring little boy and I hate to see him struggle.
I found that I need less caffeine than before I started taking Vyvanse. Vyvanse does a much better job than caffeine, so I drink less coffee, espresso, etc and rely on the medication. I feel better, too. I don't suggest dropping caffeine all at once...the withdrawal is a drag.
does she drink a lot of caffeine? Too much caffeine and calcium cause kidney problems. Check with the doctor to see how much calcium she should be getting each day. She may be getting too much thru certain foods. Cut the caffeine, switch to caffeine free soda if she can't quit soda altogether. Also increase the amount of water intake as water will cleanse the kidneys.
1. Is Adderall safe for people with AVNRT? 2. If the SVTs don't stop, is there an oral med he could have at hand to try after Vagal maneuvers so he doesn't have to (necessarily) go to ER? 3. Apart from avoiding illicit drugs and caffeine, are there other lifestyle changes that can help? Would stress reduction help?
My Doc. Keeps ******* with my meds; Right now I take 3mg of Guanfacine every morning and **** isn't working. Can someone give me ideas on how to change Doctors, I live in shoreline Washington. Area code 98155. I need to find a Doctor that would expect Medicare/medicaid in my neighborhood. Help! Please help!
I'm 41 yrs old and diagnosed with ADHD because of my symptoms. I was prescribed Vyvanse. I took 20mg today but it put me to sleep. I was wondering if there was a possibility of me having thyroid problems because of this effect the Vyvanse had on me? I thought i was going to be focused and energized. Can you please let me know if this is the effect Vyvanse does to people with thyroid problems? Thank you.
I currently take Prozac, Lithium (ER), and Vyvanse each 1x a day. I also get an injection of Depo-Provera once every 3 months. I also have an Rx for Xanex, which is to be taken as needed, but I have not taken it in months. I also often self-medicate with caffine pills - I took two 200mg caffine pills yesterday around 5pm. I also took some Aleve at that time, as I have been having eye pain and headaches for the last two weeks and I was hoping to aleviate that pain.
The first thing I noticed when I drank it was that I felt quiet, FOCUSED, calm ~ for the first time in a looong time. It has some caffeine, but not a jittery caffeine (coffee was my addiction and the worst thing for me). I am telling you, it has helped me immensely! I have some information on my Facebook Fan Page... pureblend. I also am ordering it in bulk because people are really hooking into it and loving it.
My best friend in college self-medicated with caffeine, alcohol and pot. He passed in 4 years even with a double major, but then ended up hospitalized for detox within 2 years after graduation. He finally got treatment for the ADD and is doing much better now. Talk to your doctor about the anger issues and the night waking for food. Those are red flags all right. Get a second opinion if you need to.
Ryannn94, First of all, I am very sorry to hear that you are having such a difficult time; not only medically but with your friends, school, and stresses of everything else. I can surely sympathize with you and remember the confusion, frustration, and anger of emotions I felt trying to sort through everything. PLEASE HANG IN THERE!!!! First, some kinda good news: I have experience with the medications you are taking. I take them both now and have for a long time.
I've known a lot of people that had it, but they never started out with those symptoms. They always had symptoms that were associated with physical pain. Good luck and if you need anything, i'm here to talk. I totally understand where you are coming from.
I am curently taking 30 mg of celexa along with 25 mg of adderall it seemed to be working good for a few days then it seemed not so effective like it was before. I asked my psycholgist why it would do that she does not know. I have been on so many different antidepressents because of them working for a short time then not being so effective. Has anyone else experienced this before?
I gather its because of heavy acid buildup. Now with Vyvanse, I am eating even less. Basically not eating. I am pretty sure now that one feeling I often get is anxiety, where I just feel like this pressing feeling I am not sure how to describe.. When the kids are going nuts for example the feeling I think that is, is anxiety. So I notice now I have a lot of that, but not in your typical external way.
This all started with the Vyvanse. And of course the eating problems. Its so hard to remember to eat, and then when you do remember your already full with just a bite or two. Im starting to think I have a eating disorder because of how little I eat, or the only time I do really eat it after 10 pm when the meds start to wear off and I start to crave things... also found that ive been sleep eating..
i'm sure my meds add a little to my tiredness--i take norco and soma for pain with 1/2 of a caffeine tablet---but in the past it used to actually hype me aup just a little after i took my pain meds.
A couple months before I quit vyvanse was when I randomly started having this reaction. Strange, but something chemically must be going on with me. My tolerance for both caffeine and alcohol has also decreased pretty dramatically since I quit vyvanse. I think it's really weird that I react to strattera like this since 10mg is typically the dose given to little kids.
i looked up how soma works and learned that even though it is called a muscle relaxant, it does not work on your muscles, it works on your central nervous system and alters the way you percieve pain---(it helps my anxiety and depression, too, somewhat) i also take half of a caffeine pill with my pain meds---for some reason it helps the pain meds work better. i tried to drop the caffein because it aggravates the reflux i have---but the pain meds did not work as well.
My husband was diagnosed with Central Sleep Apnea. He has been to 5 Repiratory Specialists, 7 neurologists, tried CPAP, now on BiPap. Long story short -- the Bi-Pap isn't working. He is falling asleep behind the wheel and at work, incoherent, etc. Oh...he is also an insomniac, has chronic migraines, chronic pain, and is on 10 medications. Needless to say, we have no life anymore.
We did use the caffeine when he was on the Ritalin a few years ago. He seems to have trouble with the carmel coloring in dark pop, but Mt. Dew helped some. My son's "crash" ends up being one mood swing after another. The evening are his worst time. He is very agitated, irritable, and always ready to fight. He gets off the bus after school and is wound, jumping all over. He takes .01mg of Clonidine as soon as he gets home. Then we start into the fighting.
i also have arthritis in my feet and in my hands and i've had surgery on one of my knees for arthritis---about 8 years ago. i take norco and soma with 1/2 of a caffeine pill for the muscle pain and various anti-inflamatories for the joint pain. i am taking wellbutrine for depression--but mostly becuase i have such severe anxiety and the clonazepam just wasn't cutting it to help with the anxiety. i am also on 25 mgs of DHEA (my levels were low).
I am now 25 weeks pregnant and finding my symptoms to be getting worse and worse daily--has anyone else dealt with ADD during pregnancy and if so how did you cope? I am beginning to feel a little like i am losing my mind and and like i might run out of my job screaming at any moment.
Oh My God, people!!!! The ADHD medicine is wearing off. If you all have children that take the medicine, you would know that majority of parents struggle with this "coming off" the medicine after school. You can play around with dosages, try to change the medicine. Also, I noticed with my son, that if I don't quit giving him medicine during weekend, he seems better. I talked to parents who actually give children a Coca -Cola, and it helps (go figure).
tried a few things suggested by various docs and my psych has been most helpful. Currently he has me on VYVANSE (currently 70mg). I think it is for kids with ADD or something like that but for adults without ADD it works as a stimulant. It seems to be effective once it gets me out of bed and into my first espresso... Coming off it is another story and takes a boatload of pills to try to get my into sleep mode and it starts all over again.
