First, congratulations for choosing healthy foods and exercising regularly! Have they done a sleep study to see what's causing the insomnia? Do they think you may have sleep apnea? Sleep deprivation throws off the body's normal rhythms and normal regulations and can cause or aggravate other health problems, including, if I'm not mistaken, high blood pressure. Unfortunately, sleep medications can have side effects of their own.

My question: Every time I sleep, day (as in nap, occasionally) or night, I have strange dreams I can't put a finger on. I'm often very sad anxious and in some type of bad situation. THEN the real problem. I awake in absolute terror. I am pretty much completely dysfunctional for at least half an hour to two hours. The Vyvanse generally relieves it when it kicks in. It's as if my mind falls apart when off it. I never wake up happy to face the day, excited, etc.

im on the highest dosage of vyvanse and its supposed to last longer than addorall but it seems to be working less and less...is that possible?? im sick of insurance not paying for this medication yet not getting any other substantial benifit from vyvanse, anyone else experience a increased tolerence to any add meds?

The only thing I am lacking is motivation and memory when it comes to studying for exams. I have taken a few 30 and 40 mg vyvanse pills just several times over the past couple of weeks and have experienced tremendous effects on my studying and concentration abilities. I have recently gotten ahold of a 60 mg pill and am wondering if that dosage is too strong for me since I do not have a disorder and have not been taking vyvanse religiously. I am really sensitive to medications. Adderall was like what I imagine taking crystal methamphetamine feels like. At least I felt like how those people looked. I have been on Vyvanse for a while now. And was worried when they doctor said it was very similar to Adderall XR. But he promised me that the issues I was having with feeling ill, insomnia, and no appitite would lessen on Vyvanse. And that the nasty, gross stimulant feeling I got from Adderall would go away.

I'm taking Vyvanse and sometimes it works and sometimes it doesn't work at all. Sometimes I just want to sleep all day and never feel the effects of increased focus, motivation, interest, and energy. Hey I am worried about my sister! She is on Vyvanse right now at thiry mgs but does NOT take it daily. Her husband takes twenty mgs of Adderall daily, and sometimes she will take an adderall instead of a vyvanse. Is this safe?? I don't think she is taking them at the same time but, is it safe for her to take an adderall on occasion? Hi! My question is a bit ironic. I take medications because I have a very bad problem of focussing and stuff. But sometimes, I am so unfocus when I get up in the morning, that I can't tell if I have taken or not my vyvanse... I do use that little week-by-week bokes thing, but sometimes I'm too busy to think about filling it for a week. So I don't want solutions to avoid it happening again, I'll do my best so it does not happen again with those little pill boxes.

If the symptoms still do not resolve, then you have to get assessed for sleep disorders. Certain sleep disorders like obstructive sleep apnea can cause disturbed sleep and hence the need to sleep more. And others like narcolepsy can cause excessive sleepiness per say. Also, yesturday I went to see my rhemutologist once agian due to shortness of breath and horrible sleep problems. The week before he prescribed lyrica and sonayta, which is for back pain and sleeping problems. My 10 year old son, who is ADHD, was taking 30 mg of Vyvanse and it worked fine for like a month and half. The doctor increased his dosage to 40 mg and it was working great, but again the effects seemed to have diminished in two months. The doctor recommended to keep him in the 40 mg of Vyvanse, which he takes in the morning, and in the evening give him 1 mg of Intuniv.
