Vyvanse side effects anxiety

Common Questions and Answers about Vyvanse side effects anxiety

vyvanse

Avatar f tn Certain medications can cause side effects in many of us that take it. Vyvanse is a stimulant, which in my experience actually helped me focus in the long term (I took another type in the same class) Initially, I was nervous about taking it because I thought it would make my anxiety worse, but these types of medications can "calm the mind" with those with ADD or ADHD in my experience with them. Have you talked to your doctor about it?
Avatar f tn Wellbutrin could be a bit more suitable for you with less side-effects if dopamine and norepinephrine is a problem in your depression/anxiety. Depression often leads to anxiety so yeah maybe when you took Vyvanse you had euphoric effects similar to those with amphetamine ''speed''. The extra dopamine and norepinephrine you produce using this drug is contributing to the well-being feeling, focus and energy.
Avatar m tn Wondering what nutrition choices, sleep patterns and work loads people adopt to better manage there experences with or without the medication. Also looking for information on dealing with anxiety as a result of school stress and side effects from medication.
Avatar f tn My medication completely kills my appetite. I need help, how can I get my appetite back? I Am underweight, food makes me nauseous, and I naturally have a fast metabolism. I am about 5' 3' tall.
1218509 tn?1267490923 It was very smooth, it lasted around the 12-14 hours my Psychiatrist said it would, and I did not give me any side effects. I would highly recommend Vyvanse to anyone who needs a ADHD/ADD medication. I can only wish you the best experience with this medication once it is available by you.
Avatar f tn He said that the other two meds were to bring me down from the Vyvanse while also having the side effects of suppressing my hunger and one of them is supposed to make sugar (esp. sugary drinks) taste funky. I do not wake up in the middle of the night to eat and I am not addicted to sodas or anything. I am just trying to figure out the risk/benefit of this cocktail. The Vyvanse is already worth it b/c I can focus and it is WAY better than Ritalin plus it suppresses my appetite during the day.
Avatar n tn I am surprised that he gave you vyvanse. My dr. gave me Wellbutrin and it produced none of the side effects you mention except decreased cravings for caffeine and sweets. Our pharmacist said vyvanse is a lot like adderall; he said everyone seems to be using it who would have previously been on adderall. It is very trendy right now. But I do not think it would help with anxiety at all, and I would guess anxiety might be causing your heart rate to be rapid.
Avatar m tn ve never heard of Vyvanse. It sounds to me like you may be experiencing side effects of Prozac. It might be an idea to go to your family doctor and tell her or him about the symptoms you're experiencing. Good luck.
1666464 tn?1303225358 and for some reason it seems to neutralize the Vyvanse. The side-effects go away but so does the psychological stimulating feelings of Vyvanse. It's as if it snuffs it out almost completely. I don't know if it's a drug interaction that nobody knows about or if it thins my blood out so that I don't notice any of the effects of Vyvanse, I don't know. Either way it's the only thing that seems to do 'anything' which is really weird.
Avatar n tn I do smoke cigarettes and have coffee every day, which may also increase these side effects. I am nervous for my health, but do realize that for the most part I never get these tics or nervousness in my heart. My heart rate usually does not increase and I do not have shortness of breath.
Avatar f tn I highly prefer Vyvanse over adderall because I do not suffer from side effects w/Vyvanse as with the adderall. The Vyvanse is much smoother than most all other adhd drugs. I have never experienced shortness of breath while taking Vyvanse, however, I am 25 years old and 180lbs. I am also a Registered Nurse. I would imagine that these annoying side effects will eventually subside with continued therapy w/Vyvanse. Give it 2-3 weeks becaue his tolerance needs to build up first.
Avatar f tn I agree with Sandman2 that you are taking too much. The first medication the doctor tried on me was vyvanse. I started on 30 mg which didn't last long enough. I was in college when I was taking it and took it at 9am and it was gone by 3-4pm. She increased my dose to 50 mg which was too much for me.
Avatar f tn Im a 19 years old boy and i have tried vyvanse which did miracles at first at 20mg until the effect decreased and had to go up to 60mg with no effects except the bad ones and went back to my old self(lazy, tired, unmotivated etc.). I am now on concerta 36mg and it seems like working but not all the time and clearly not as much as first time vyvanse.
Avatar m tn I am partially on Vyvanse because I cannot take any antidepressant whatsoever, which occurred about three to four years ago. No clue why. Thus, off Vyvanse, my depression returns to baseline. However, like many people with ADD, Vyvanse does not agitate me but rather calms me down. Thus, I suppose the answer could in part be a rebound effect in the case of both anxiety and depression? However, the morning attacks seem anxiety related.
Avatar m tn Ok, I have vyvanse 70 mg tablets. Currently I have been on them for 3 days alotogether. I take the pill when i want to, I've takin 3 pills in one week. My first quesiton (1. Is it safe to take vyvanse when needed? If not what are the harms of it and is it very severe or no?. (2. MY BIG CONCERN. Its a love hate situation for me so far, i love what it does, the concentrating, the happy mood, love it! But I'm having awful side effects. The first day i had none.
1575110 tn?1334664635 Hello, I also have adult ADD and I have tried both Concerta and Vyvanse. My doctor wanted me to try Concerta for a few weeks and I didn't like it at all. It didn't agree with me. It made it feel depressed and NOT motivated to do everyday things. I was on a 36 mg dose and when I went back to my doctor I told him I hated it. He mentioned that there is a new medication called Vyvanse and asked if I would like to try it. With nothing to lose, I said yes. I do like Vyvanse.
Avatar f tn My son has been on vyvanse for 4 months now, he is having horrible side effects, to the point where you can't reason with him. We need to get him off this terrible drug before it kills him. You can't just stop taking it because, so how do we get him off this drug?
1165577 tn?1263001618 I have been on Vyvanse and i never gain weight also Dexetrine with is in the same family and also my brother has been on adderal no weight gain. So i wouldnt worry about weight. we all took it for adhd.
Avatar n tn s now 2019 March 15th, I was wondering why I was going through five or six different side effects when switching my stimulants completely over to Vyvanse and I already was well invested into a Methadone Maintenance program. But I was on adderal 30mg 2 x daily, started methadone and then adderall 20mg 1 x day and 40mg vyvanse 1x a day when this all started slowly but I knew something wasnt right.
665851 tn?1225826009 Some people with ADHD develop coping mechanisms that look like OCD, when not medicated, because they are trying to cope with the fact that their life feels out of control. It's entirely possible that, when taken off of the medication, your son WAS feeling very anxious because his ADHD symptoms were overwhelming, because of his lack of medication, not because of the medication. Two members of my household take Vyvanse for ADHD and have had no issues.
1401877 tn?1288107639 re like unique little snowflakes that way. Sometimes the best thing to do is to carefully track your own vitals and side effects as you start and stop different medications so that any changes will become apparent, and you can point them out to your docs. :-/ Best, Heiferly.
Avatar f tn If you are still having side effects from withdrawing the med, slow it down even more. Talk to your doctor about this. This link has a lot of side effects that can happen during discontinuation (which should be minimized by tapering down slowly). Your muscle pain is on the list but it is hard to say if that is from discontinuing the med or from your other condition. http://www.drugsdb.com/rx/vyvanse/vyvanse-withdrawal/.
Avatar m tn It was a little misleading because on the packaging it said it could be opened up rather than swallowed, but my doctor said otherwise. I was on Adderal for about a week and it did help me out but the side effects were just not worth it. My doctor then switched me to Vyvanse (because of my anxiety, adderall wasnt so great, and because i cannot swallow pills) It was mucchh better. I still had faster heartbeats than normal , but not as fast as when i was on adderal.
