I do have anxiety and depression due to my current life situation but I have never taken anything for it and it is not debilitating (the anxiety can get it the way a bit b/c i feel like i am dying or something)

Ie no anxiety ect, but that doesnt last, vyvanse is not used for controlling anxiety and often exacerbates it instead in some people

I have been on Vyvanse for a while now. And was worried when they doctor said it was very similar to Adderall XR. But he promised me that the issues I was having with feeling ill, insomnia, and no appitite would lessen on Vyvanse. And that the nasty, gross stimulant feeling I got from Adderall would go away. And he was right about everything and then some. And believe me if there is a side effect to have I will have it.

Especially if you are prone to anxiety, the not knowing only makes it worse.

My question: Every time I sleep, day (as in nap, occasionally) or night, I have strange dreams I can't put a finger on. I'm often very sad anxious and in some type of bad situation. THEN the real problem. I awake in absolute terror. I am pretty much completely dysfunctional for at least half an hour to two hours. The Vyvanse generally relieves it when it kicks in. It's as if my mind falls apart when off it. I never wake up happy to face the day, excited, etc.

My son who is 9 yrs old has started Vyvanse since January of this year. He is currently on about 25 mg of Vyvanse. The only thing that I don't like about it is that it takes a long time to kick in, like about 2.5 hours for my son. So often in the morning he will seem unfocused so will not do well during early 8am test. His doctor and I discussed trying Ritalin first in the morning and then adding Vyvanse, which is the reverse of what many people do.

If he truly displays these conditions, he may well require pharmacological treatment, so it is not a good idea to take him off. However, having said that, Vyvanse is an unusual choice for such a young child, and Abilify is an unusual choice to treat generalized anxiety. I would suggest that you obtain a second opinion.

I have taken Zoloft on and off for some time with no major issues, but my anxiety would increase whenever I started, stopped, or adjusted dosage. Are you on Vyvanse for ADD? I think it is a stimulant and they can defiinitely raise your anxiety in my opinion. I have been on a different one with success, but have you been throwing up before you took the medication?

I am going to go off Vyvanse due to severe anxiety when crash hits. No dose seemed to fit for me. But, I lost the weight I was needing to lose (20 lbs) and if I go off Vyvanse, will it come back on with a vengance? I have heard hunger just is out of control when stopping this drug. started seeing a Dr for ADD about 4 months ago, we first started on 3-4 add a day which did not help, I was agitated all the time and not focused, I also have severe anxiety. So now she has me on the Vyvanse and Xanax which worked great for the first 3wks focusing on point, calmed down some.

I think all that is from the stimulant. I now take Valium for anxiety and it has calmed down a lot of my anxiety and racy feelings and just helps me be kind of happy and mellow, unlike Xanax which just knocked me out. Honestly I am looking for a new Dr. because he is not addressing my issues well and I feel I need to be stabilized on better meds.

All of these tasks in my mind made me feel very scatterbrained, which I incorrectly thought was caused by the Vyvanse. After being on Vyvanse for about 8-9 months, I decided to stop (still continued on the Lexapro). After a few months, I noticed that I would still occasionally get scatterbrained in the same types of situations, which proved that it was not caused by the Vyvanse.

I have been taking Vyvanse for over 3 years now, 1 60 mg tablet daily, however they believe it has something to do with my blood pressure being high now. Wondering what nutrition choices, sleep patterns and work loads people adopt to better manage there experences with or without the medication. Also looking for information on dealing with anxiety as a result of school stress and side effects from medication.

t have insurance. I took 60 mg of Vyvanse for three to four months, back in mid-2009; it was absolutely amazing. It was very smooth, it lasted around the 12-14 hours my Psychiatrist said it would, and I did not give me any side effects. I would highly recommend Vyvanse to anyone who needs a ADHD/ADD medication. I can only wish you the best experience with this medication once it is available by you.

Well anxiety can do a million things to us. I've actually had arm pain from it too. I'm no doctor so I don't want to lead you to one direction or another. But it's great you had full cardio work last year. Working 52 hrs a week at desk job can for sure mess with your back/shoulders/neck which is close to the arms. I'd bet you're fine but if it continues a quick check up would ease your mind.

i have been taking vyvanse which has been one of the best medications that i have been given over the last several years---unfortunately, it is expensive without insurance. i have been having to pay around $158 dollars a month for it. provigil didn't do a whole lot for me.

gave me Wellbutrin and it produced none of the side effects you mention except decreased cravings for caffeine and sweets. Our pharmacist said vyvanse is a lot like adderall; he said everyone seems to be using it who would have previously been on adderall. It is very trendy right now. But I do not think it would help with anxiety at all, and I would guess anxiety might be causing your heart rate to be rapid. The Wellbutrin is a stimulating anti-depressant.

t know if it will ever go away, but my 16 year old son has been on Vyvanse for 4 years and last year was diagnosed with OCD after taking him off for the summer for a drug break. He also started to have some major anxiety where he will go in his room and cry (loudly). I am now trying to wean him off after he started having chest pains and his left arm went numb. Very disturbing. Did the Food & Drug Administration test this before approving it?

Hello, I also have adult ADD and I have tried both Concerta and Vyvanse. My doctor wanted me to try Concerta for a few weeks and I didn't like it at all. It didn't agree with me. It made it feel depressed and NOT motivated to do everyday things. I was on a 36 mg dose and when I went back to my doctor I told him I hated it. He mentioned that there is a new medication called Vyvanse and asked if I would like to try it. With nothing to lose, I said yes. I do like Vyvanse.

Has anyone tried the drug vyvance for CFS...it is typically used for ADD. My lyme disease doctor suggested it and says those with lyme disease who suffer with fatigue has benefitted from it. Just wondering if anyone has ever tried it.

Hi, I am a 40 year old female and I have been on Vyvanse for @6 years. I didnt have any problems except for having to take Ambien to get some sleep. Most of those years I took 70mg. For the past two years I went down to 60mg. That dosage worked better for me; and I went off of the Ambien. Two months ago I stopped taking Vyvanse. I had gotten sick and I needed the rest. After that, I just didnt take any more. However; this morning I took about 10mg,and I have been extremely drowsy.

How would a stimulant work in conjunction with a partial dopamine agonist like Rexulti? I am prescribe the Rexulti for depression/anxiety in conjunction with Prozac and Cymbalta. The Vyvanse is being added to treat my severe ADHD, I am the mostly inattentive type. I just want to be able to think and focus clearly. If this combo will still allow that I would be happy, if not than I may need to talk to my doc. Thanks for any responses.

I am taking Vyvanse and Prozac, and I'm having trouble getting myself to eat. I am still in a healthy weight range, so I'm not worried about that. But I've been weak, fatigued, and dizzy at times because I'm not eating enough. Are there any protein shakes I should try, or something like that, so I can be getting the nutrients I need? I hate most protein shakes because I can't stand the texture, and they're usually gross. But I have to do something.
