Wellbutrin could be a bit more suitable for you with less side-effects if dopamine and norepinephrine is a problem in your depression/anxiety. Depression often leads to anxiety so yeah maybe when you took Vyvanse you had euphoric effects similar to those with amphetamine ''speed''. The extra dopamine and norepinephrine you produce using this drug is contributing to the well-being feeling, focus and energy.

However, the morning attacks seem anxiety related. I now believe a OCD is involved, which Vyvanse at least focuses. Obviously, you can see the additional problem: I cannot take a medication that consistently relieves the depression. Frequently, I return to depressed and/or the Vyvanse wears off and I "crash." This is all so complicated. There are many simply sad circumstances in my life right now. Do they rise to depression? it's hard to tell.

My son who is 9 yrs old has started Vyvanse since January of this year. He is currently on about 25 mg of Vyvanse. The only thing that I don't like about it is that it takes a long time to kick in, like about 2.5 hours for my son. So often in the morning he will seem unfocused so will not do well during early 8am test. His doctor and I discussed trying Ritalin first in the morning and then adding Vyvanse, which is the reverse of what many people do.

My five year old son is diagnosed with adhd and generalized anxiety disorder. we have tried several meds. currently he is on 50 mg of vyvanse, 40 mg of citalopram and 2mg of abilify a day. his behavior is beyond horrible. should i just take him off meds?

Hello. I have recently been prescribed zoloft and dextroamfetamine (vyvanse). My dose has just been raised to 150 zoloft and 50 vyvanse. I am feeling dizzy, I'm sweating like crazy lying down in a cold room, and I've thrown up a few times since I took the increased dosages earlier today. Occasionally it feels like my heart has butterfly wings too. Am I just having panic attacks? I heard the dex can increase anxiety... I don't have insurance here...

I am going to go off Vyvanse due to severe anxiety when crash hits. No dose seemed to fit for me. But, I lost the weight I was needing to lose (20 lbs) and if I go off Vyvanse, will it come back on with a vengance? I have heard hunger just is out of control when stopping this drug. He prescribed Vyvanse to take in the morning then before bed I am supposed to take Topamax (migraine medicine) and Trintellix (an antidepressant) as well as a diet. I started on the Vyvanse mostly b/c I also suffer from ADHD and it is really great so far for my attention at work. However I am really leery of taking new meds especially if I do not need them and even so I would like to see how I react to one before taking others on top of it.

All of these tasks in my mind made me feel very scatterbrained, which I incorrectly thought was caused by the Vyvanse. After being on Vyvanse for about 8-9 months, I decided to stop (still continued on the Lexapro). After a few months, I noticed that I would still occasionally get scatterbrained in the same types of situations, which proved that it was not caused by the Vyvanse.

I would think sleep plays a big part in memory and levels of anxiety. Perhaps the vyvanse stimulation gets me so focused my breathing is shortened and anxiety develops. Since taking the Vyvanse I find it easier to get up in the morning. I'm more focused switched on and attentive. My drive is empowering and my self confidence has improved. Well anxiety can do a million things to us. I've actually had arm pain from it too. I'm no doctor so I don't want to lead you to one direction or another. But it's great you had full cardio work last year. Working 52 hrs a week at desk job can for sure mess with your back/shoulders/neck which is close to the arms. I'd bet you're fine but if it continues a quick check up would ease your mind.

It sounded like it may help. Unfortunately, it made me very awake but freaked out with horrible anxiety. I thought I would try again and see if 1/2 dose would work. Same thing, energy yes, but terrible anxiety. Tried adderall a while ago and was pretty much the same. But I have read some people can tolerate it so you may as well try. Didn't much help with the brain fog though.

But I do not think it would help with anxiety at all, and I would guess anxiety might be causing your heart rate to be rapid. The Wellbutrin is a stimulating anti-depressant. This makes it appropriate for adults with both ADD and depression. It has changed my life. Keep working with your doctor and find the right medication. Everyone's brain is different but there are a lot of options to try.

My 16 year old son has been on Vyvanse for almost 4 years. Vyvanse has caused major anxiety and symptoms of OCD. A couple of months ago I had to take him to the emergency room because he was having heart pains and his left arm was numb. After cutting his dose from 50 mg to 40 mgs, the symptoms went away after 24 hours. I now have him on 30 mg and I'm in the process of weaning him off. My doc prescribed me 70mg Vyvanse, to compare with my Adderall dose previously prescribed. When feeling the effects of Vyvanse it is truly a saving grace and I really feel "limitless". I think clear, I don't feel over stimulated or the out of body experience like other ADHD drugs. I am really sensitive to medications. Adderall was like what I imagine taking crystal methamphetamine feels like. At least I felt like how those people looked. I have been on Vyvanse for a while now. My psych doc started me on Rexulti last friday and is going to be starting me on Vyvanse in the next few days. I know that, at least most, antipsychotics reduce the effectiveness of stimulants due to their dopamine blocking properties. I am taking Vyvanse and Prozac, and I'm having trouble getting myself to eat. I am still in a healthy weight range, so I'm not worried about that. But I've been weak, fatigued, and dizzy at times because I'm not eating enough. Are there any protein shakes I should try, or something like that, so I can be getting the nutrients I need? To make a long story short. I haven't taken vyvanse for 3 months but have consistent chest pain which started when taking the drug. my blood pressure did go up when taking the drug so i was put on atenolol. I had since discontinued the drug (about 3 months ago) but the side effects continue . I have 24/7 tight chest. Anyone with similar experience, recommendations, etc?
