Avatar n tn I believe a blood clot would hurt and let off heat in the area it was at. One might wonder if you have weakened vein walls that they get so big when putting pressure on the leg standing? Was varicose veins suggested? Did they think you might have blood pooling in your lower extremities with standing? I know there are bulges in veins where there are valves, did the doctor say that there is a valve where they intersect?

However, varicose veins can hurt too. I wouldn't worry just have your Dr. look at it. If your leg gets really swollen or starts to have pain call your Dr.
Avatar f tn I thought I had a clot, and that is a sign. Do you have any pain in the bigger leg, or varicose veins that look different?
Avatar n tn 2mm), raised, red bulging spot on my glans that looks like it is filled with blood, from a scrape or scratch when I was very young. Last year I had sclerosing of varicose veins in my leg, which worked very well. This is purely a vanity question -- might this glans blood spot, not really a vein I'm sure, be amenable to injection with a sclerosing solution (sclerotherapy) to shrink it, or would the risk outweigh the cosmetic benefit?
Avatar n tn Yes, a deep vein clot is a possibility and should be evaluated.

Avatar f tn Have you undergone any recent surgery on the right leg, ankle or the foot? Is there any history of varicose veins or defective valves in the leg veins? I hope you are not taking any hormone like estrogens, perimenopausal? This needs urgent attention by a surgeon. Have you been checked for diabetes? It could be an abscess needing urgent drainage. You must go to the emergency room and an urgent x ray done to check for any ankle fracture.

11587059 tn?1427628263 The tingling fingers and feet sound like poor blood circulation which is also related to varicose veins I think. (Varicose veins are due to blood not pumping all the way through and backlogging/leaking back into the veins.) Bruised legs also circulatory, sounds like spider veins, which are related to varicose but don't stick out and they spread out more. Itching could be circulatory as well, or puppps or liver issues or allergies or sensitive skin.
2020005 tn?1628125976 Hey there, i just want to say dnp47 that was a wonderful post! thank you! I agree, I would show it to the doctor. At least just so they are updated on whats going on with your body. I also have heard, if it doesn't go away after the baby, that apple cider vinegar (with the mother in it) can be applied to the area to help varicose veins. I haven't had any to see if it works yet on myself but if you are curious to try its an idea to look up and try.
Avatar f tn I have been looking into this a lot myself and found out about spider veins and varicose veins and I think that is what they are. I have just begun a new birth control pill after some problems with my hormone levels and am also on the end of my recent period - could this be causing it? I read that it can if you are on the pill and have imbalanced hormones - such as being pregnant or on your period. Will they fade or disappear when my hormone levels are balanced?
Avatar f tn If your brother-in-law has varicose veins and is on his feet all day, he could have developed a blood clot. In the absence of a wound causing infection and fever, that's my best guess. A blood clot can be just as dangerous as an infection because pieces can break off and go anywhere in the body like the brain, heart or lungs and result in a fast death. Your brother-in-law MUST see a doctor as soon as possible. I can't tell you how foolish it is for him to ignore this problem.
Avatar m tn m noticing 2 new varicose veins and small purple looking veins throughout my penis. I also noticed minor discomfort and aching on the right side of my penis. The aches and discomfort have gone away but the veins are still there and prominent. I'm wondering if this is inflammation? I have a always had 1 varicose vein on my left side of my penis but the 2 other ones seem new and coily which I have never noticed before.
