Avatar f tn What he did find was that I have several very thick, varicose veins on my uterus. I will learn more when I see him in a couple of weeks. I had no idea that you could have varicose veins here!
1032669 tn?1252456404 Yeah, I'm one of the lucky ones with varicose veins too :-( I have a few on my legs that look and feel like raised bruises, and my labia is swollen too. My obgyn said it's not uncommon and that, unfortunately, it will just continue to get worse until delivery...as the weight of your uterus (and baby) increases and puts more pressure on the veins. Oh well, it's all worth it for a healthy baby!
Avatar m tn If I am calm and feeling good I get no pain in my legs and feet but if I’m worked up I get pains in the arch of my foot and inside of my ankle below the bone, I also get a sensation in my feet of having things in my shoe mildly pressing in to my foot. I guess the fear of getting/worsening varicose veins again is also fuelling my anxiety.
Avatar f tn When clots form in veins near the surface of the body, swelling and redness appear along the affected area of the vein. You may consult a doctor and get your doubts clarified. Don’t cross your legs or ankles while sitting. Avoid sitting or standing for long periods at a stretch. Sleeping on left side, wearing compression stockings may be helpful. Consult a local healthcare provider. Do write to us again with more queries. Best luck and regards!
Avatar f tn Well, I would look up Deep Vein Thrombosis, too, and see if any of the symptoms relate to what is happening to you. If it is a varicose vein it is no big deal, but if it is DVT you should go in and get checked, and don't wait until Monday if the symptoms match its description. Good luck; I hope it is just a v.v.
155701 tn?1230047101 I wouldn't completely rule out varicose veins because I have read that they can occasionally be painful. If that is the case & a doctor recommends they be treated, a lot of U.S. Medical Insurance plans cover this. I only mention this because I have spider veins (mostly in my right thigh) but they are just ugly, not painful, so the treatment to get rid of them is not covered by insurance.
6387609 tn?1393274731 It could also be varicose veins. I didn't know you could get them in your vagina but apparently you can.
Avatar f tn This knot appears where I have varicose veins. (The varicose veins are non pregnancy related) I now prop a pillow behind me to prevent this happening. I know that the growing uterus puts pressure on the main artery when you're laid on your back and this in turn stops the blood flowing back up to your heart as easily. My legs also ache nearly all night long, it's driving me mad! Anyone else have anything similar?
229857 tn?1319029907 Maybe leave a message on the nurse line with your doc and ask them to call you back just to make sure, but it does sound like it's probably just the start of some possible varicose veins, which is common and typically nothing to worry about, though they can be rather uncomfortable. That's just what i'd do if i were in the same boat. what area in florida are you visiting?
Avatar f tn It is very difficult to tell if your symptoms of headache are related to varicose veins without examination. Some association of varicose veins and migraine has been worked out. I would suggest you to try alternate therapy like acupressure, yoga and meditation and breathing exercises. Take care!
Avatar m tn The leg vein issue the way you describe is that of varicose veins. Because you are experiencing pain in the calf muscle, you should make an urgent appointment to see your doctor to rule out deep vein thrombosis. The doctor will listen to the leg and can arrange to get your blood tested with regard to that - this is called a Doppler test. He will also be able to confirm whether it is varicose veins that you have and what can be done about them.
Avatar f tn her sister had severe varicose veins. I never did, but I took a lot ofvitamin E in my health nut days (also never had stretch marks). But I was wondering how much pain, written off as fibro, might be vascular? I would guess that people w/EDS might have varicose veins too. Sometimes I feel like that's where pain is, because it'snot in my joints. My veins are very close to the surface. Anyone?
Avatar m tn symptoms from week 1 subsided but I noticed inflammation of veins on my penis (two definitely new enlarged veins and some more prominent small purple veins - these are still slightly painful) and my hemorrhoids were far worse. Week 3: first began to experience electric pain through groin area and noticed prominent varicose veins in right groin. also noticed numbness and tingling sensations throughout my body (pins and needles). the best I can describe it is short electric shock like pains.
Avatar f tn org/diseases-conditions/varicose-veins/symptoms-causes/syc-20350643. Basically, weak or damaged valves lead to varicose veins. Being obese is a risk factor and losing weight would likely help a multitude of things in your life. That's never easy but something that would be very beneficial to work on. Sitting for prolonged periods of time also contribute to varicose veins. You are a young man and this should be a priority for your health.
Avatar n tn Read How to get pregnant before you decide to remove the varicose veins in your husband, he argues it can be potentially deadly for male fertility
1138687 tn?1548643978 Hi, I am wondering why there isn't a varicose veins forum!? Where else might I post my varicose veins concerns? I posted in the Deep Vein Thrombosis forum but noticed it is rarely used. I'm not certain but isn't DVT a result of varicose veins? And if varicose veins are more common, with DVT being a side affect, then Why not change that forum to Varicose Veins? Regardless shouldn't there be a forum for varicose veins?
Avatar m tn Varicose veins usually result from failures in valves in veins connecting the superficial veins to the deep system in your legs. This is a mechanical problem. No medicine can restore this function. Horse chestnut extracts have been studied and appear to decrease the swelling due to venous insufficiency but the appearance is unchanged.
1138687 tn?1548643978 Hi, I am looking for support for my varicose veins! I have what would be considered a pretty severe case and I'm only 31 and male. I've had them since youth, but after all the chaos in my life in that past 5 yrs, I haven't been in touch with my body as much as usual!
Avatar n tn You may feel that the advantages of taking the pill outweigh the risk of varicose veins. That said I doubt if taking the pill would stop the problem! Ask the doctor for his/her opinion.
Avatar m tn Hello and welcome to the forum. Thank you for the question. We're sorry your wife has this concern. This might be varicose veins which is a fairly common condition and usually simply cosmetic rather than of a health concern. Not always though, but often. Here's some information on it. https://www.mayoclinic.org/diseases-conditions/varicose-veins/symptoms-causes/syc-20350643 An important question is if your wife has any pain or discomfort?

757137 tn?1347196453 A few years ago my varicose veins had become so bad that I had a sac of purplish-black blood hanging from each ankle. Very scary to look at. The veins were on the verge of ulcerating. They have since been cured without vein ligations or injections. I started using BioSil (a bioavailable form of silicon). (I also started adding trace minerals to my water, but don't think this was a factor.) After about a year my feet returned to normal. One note: you have to be patient.
2020005 tn?1628125976 Hey there, i just want to say dnp47 that was a wonderful post! thank you! I agree, I would show it to the doctor. At least just so they are updated on whats going on with your body. I also have heard, if it doesn't go away after the baby, that apple cider vinegar (with the mother in it) can be applied to the area to help varicose veins. I haven't had any to see if it works yet on myself but if you are curious to try its an idea to look up and try.
