I recently started showing symptoms of either a STD or a UTI so I went to the Dr. to get check out. Well the urine test came back positive for Chlamydia. I've been in a relationship for the past 2 years and have been having unprotected sex for a while with her. I have been completely faithful but when I confronted her she admitted to cheating on me but the STD was news to her because she had never experienced any symptoms. She went right away and got tested in the ER.
I am nearly 13 weeks pregnant. At my last visit 10 days ago I had a NIPT done, blood work and a urine analysis. I developed what seemed like a UTI days earlier. Having had them in years past I was confident that's what it was. Today I received a call stating that I have a UTI and Chlymidia.
In total disbelief I ran up to my OB office and asked for a re-test. The midwife preformed a swab test to be analyzed. She recommended that I take the antibiotics.
I am not sure why the urine test was done. You had some symptoms? A high WBC in urine and no culture can happen if the UTI is caused by an organism that does not show growth on normal cultures. Certain special cultures are set up for them. Your urologist can help you with this.
In case you have no symptoms, then there is a possibility of error in the report. Maybe you should get a repeat test done.

I was tested again, this time via urine sample .I urinated like an hour and a half before test, then I urinated for the test, and they said this would not have altered the results? Anyhow, those results were negative as well. By now, the symptoms were still present and I was experiencing swelling in my urethra and vagina. I went to the minute clinic and was given sulfamethoxaole twice a day for the days. The symptoms cleared up although I still had swelling.
But either way if the results still come back negative for a UTI and you show symptoms of one than you may have a condition called INTERSTISIAL CYSTITIS which the long story short is just like a UTI but without infection or bacteria bieng present, Normally having just 1รท of WBC can be a false positive or inaccurate test prepping bieng done (Basically fudging up the test by not doing it correctly getting the WBC's in there on accident) Or say to heck with it all and just treat it in case if
I have a question....as I wait for my results - I have obviously been trying to relax and also reading everything on the internet. I'm a little confused. I obviously have some sort of infection as each morning my urine is filled with what looks like mucus, puss etc. stringy (I checked on one of them with a q-tip and it was a little bloody).
So I've tested positive for a uti and now (probably because of antibiotics), a yeast infection. But I had no symptoms for either of these things. My mom said she had a yeast infection when pregnant and didn't know until they told her, but I find it weird I had no clue with either of these... anyone else had similar dealings?
It is possible to get false positive or false negative results with the standard tests for Chlamydia. Hence it would be wise to repeat the tests. Else you can opt for specific tests for Chlamydia which include Nucleic acid amplification tests (NAAT, to find the genetic material of Chlamydia), Nucleic acid hybridization tests (DNA probe test, Enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA, EIA), Direct fluorescent antibody test (DFA) or chlamydia culture.
Both came back negative so she put me on an antibiotic thinking it must have been a UTI. This seemed to help for a bit, but then it started to hurt just as severly in the mornings again and sometimes at night. Now it doesn't hurt as much as it did at first, and only in the mornings when I first get up. What has startled me is that in the morning if I squeeze my penis milky urine comes out. I know that a thick discharge is a symptom of gonorrhea, but this is the consistency of urine.
Urine per se is not used to test for NGU. The main ways to do that are 1) physical examination to look closely for abnormal urethral discharge (the provider should have squeezed your penis in an attempt to see discharge that might not otherwise be obvious); and 2) to examine material from a urethral swab under a microscope for white blood cells. Your doc might or might not have done that.
They should have them within 24 hours when they test your urine for bacterial. If it is positive, go for another round of antibiotics but also incorporate probiotics into your routine. The supplement type you take in a pill or the yogurt you eat or drink in smoothing form. This can greatly impact your ph balance.
Has your urologist checked you for kidney stones? Bladder stones? Those can cause this situation. Also, an abnormality in your anatomy. That can be checked.
I've just recently had a urine test for Chlamydia done. I have been taking Nitrofurantion for nearly 9 months due to a resistant urinary tract infection - the test was in hopes of finding an underlying cause. I've come across info that suggests that antibiotics like Nitro may eradicate only one part of the life cycle of Chlamydia bacteria, but not another - effectively forcing it into some kind of hibernation.
Have endured irritation in urethra (tip of penis) for three weeks, with no discharge or obvious trauma. Had difficulty urinating and irritation from friction with clothes...all day, especially when working out. Saw my GP two weeks ago and told him about symptoms; he asked if there was any reason it could be STD...I have not had any new partners and in monogamous relationship, so I hope it's not STD.

Thank you very much for your comment, I have tested urine routine and culture test both the test results are normal. No growth is observed in culture test (i did culture in 3 different labs). And Urologist advised me to take blood test to find out urea and other paramenters, all looks normal. Ultrasound abdomen results also seems to be normal.
Doctor told me to testt cystoscopy and i am afraid to take that since i have having burning sensation and pain in my utheria.
Went to the clinic today, it's been 14 days since treatment, I was told abstain for 7 days after treatment which I did, the fill in for my doc was rude and abrasive, telling me in so many words I was stupid for having sex before two weeks was up, even though my partner was also treated. Then after preparing for the swab said I sure had a lot of discharge, which is odd as I haven't experienced any until she started swabbing.
I am 30yrs old, and have been having a problem with frequent and very urgent urination. My doctor did some labs to check for uti, but those were negative. The results showed that I have Strep in my urine. She plans to treat it with anibiotics. Is is possible that the problems I have been having are being caused by the strep?
I have been Showing Protein Positive in dip test at my PCP and Blood presence of 50-100 since 2002. This happens almost on a monthly or 3 weeks basis. My tests are never done during or close to my menstrual cycle so we know it's not from that. I am recently went to a urologist and he is going to test me on Feb. 25th with a catch through the urethra?. ... He is using a scope to go in and see what is happening.
Yesterday, I visited my gynocologist for on/off mild UTI symptoms and he tooks swabs yesterday and a urine sample and said he would check me for thrush, BV, STD's etc. This is 24 days clear of finishing the antiobiotics - would you be happy that when the results come in, they can be taken as accurate?
