Ultracet long term

Common Questions and Answers about Ultracet long term

ultracet

Avatar m tn Still some pain so am taking 3 Ultracet tabs per 24 hours with pretty good pain relief except following 30 minutes on the treadmill and various muscle building exercises and stretches. To calm down those muscles following exercises and stretches I would like to take one 200mg Celebrex daily but one drug interaction cite suggests "Moderate" drug-drug issue involving CYP450 2D6, which means nothing to me.
Avatar f tn The meds that they have you on are really not for the control of anything more than minor pain. If more reparative surgery is not an option, it sounds like your condition has progressed to the point where you are going to need to go to an actual pain management doctor, to get meds that most general practitioners are not comfortable prescribing. Ultracet is not for severe pain even though it is listed as such. Not to mention that it is as addictive as any narcotic.
1071153 tn?1255369215 since high school, and now your 29?? you cant just expect things to return to normal after 10 plus years of use. the good news is you were not onlarge doses of vikes, heavy oxys, methadone, sub or heroin for ten years.......... but your still going to have to pay a high price to be free, every one does in the end no matter what they are on. the wd's are worse for some, because of their DOC, but after that, the long term wds' or paws can be the same for every long term user.
Avatar f tn By the sounds of it, some of the other members have better advice than mine on this topic. I can answer the chemistry questions about the med, and even provide a medical rationale to its prescription (I'm NOT a doctor!!!), but I cannot speak to the long-term effects. Take what you will from my words, but it appears avisg, vicki595, and, as always, IBKleen know what they're talking about from a practical standpoint, at least more than I do. I'd listen to them.
Avatar m tn Hey Aaron... Ultracet is addictive. Many people have gotten hooked on it. Its Ultram/Ultracet/Tramadol I believe they are all related and whehter doctors say so or not, they are addictive and can be dangerous. :( sorry for the bad news. They are also derived from the opiate family. Be careful with them. Ive used them during in between times when I was using -- just to hold w/drawal at bay -- so that should tell you something right there..
Avatar n tn How many pills a day or for how long do you think you would need to be on Ultracet/Ultram before you would experience withdrawal symptoms? My husband took about 100 pills in a 2 week period (unknown to me - they were mine!) and he had mysterious stomach cramping/pain around the time he finished them/ran out. Sounds like it was related.
398893 tn?1201315707 Did the doc that dismissed you with a letter and acceptable amt of time to find another an give you meds till then? oxy is good for long term and lorcet for break thru.
Avatar m tn Ultracet needs to be tapered. How much were you taking a day?
Avatar f tn Ultracet is a straight up 37.5 tramadol and 325 acitomitophene(sp?
Avatar n tn ultracet it highly addictive as well. The withdrawl is VERY bad .
Avatar f tn i just went to the doctor, and he gave me ultracet. does this work for pain and help withdrawl from hydros?
Avatar m tn so basically trams are a double whammy when stopping this drug after long term use/addiction....a narcotic wd and an AD withdrawal...most who cave during or after tram wd is due to the depression//that can be much more intense than a narcotic wd altho other symptoms of narcotic wd like the runs are usually less intense with tram wd....RLS is often more severe with tram wd than with narcotic wd..
Avatar m tn I believe Ultram and Ultracet are the same. It is 37.5 tramadol and whatever of acetaminophen. I had the generic of Ultracet (have the bottle right in front of me) it is broke down as aceetaminophen and 37.5 tramadol. It is entitled tramadol (generic for Ultracet) but it has the acet/tramadol combination. I was then prescribed straight tramadol which is 50mg tramadol with nothing else added. period. If ultram is different than that is news to me.
Avatar f tn was your tramadol presription for ULTRAM or ULTRACET? If it is/was UltraCET, that contains acetaminophen (tylenol) as well as the tramadol, so therefore, if you took additional tylenol with it, you could have gotten too much of the tylenol ingredient, which could make you sick (and cause liver damage if continued).
Avatar f tn Hey any one awake yet....I have a question...the doc. now has put me on ultracet...it says 37.5 5/325....i had to take 2 yesterday over the cource of 12 hours...my questions is i'm reading that ppl are becoming addicted...i dont understand how....they dont make me feel high.....however the pain is better..not completely gone but better...so my ? is why are ppl getting addicted taking 10-15-20 a day if they dont get you high...can someone enlighten me.
Avatar n tn I am a music minister in an Evangelical Bible Church and have just had my second back surgery. My back feels great! I had unbearable pain for only a year (not much compared to some of the posters on here (7+ years of back pain, how do you do it?)). Throughout my year of pain, my doctor prescribed me hydrocodone (from 5's to eventually 10's) and tramadol 50mg (which I took with tylenol 50/500 - making it basically generic ultracet).
Avatar f tn Anyone out there that can feel me in on Ultracet experiences? My doctor put me on this instead of Hydrocodone today and said that since I take Effexor XR that there is a possibility of seizures. I have researched this since and have read all the medical info but would like to hear from real people and their experiences. I have take Hydrocodone since April of last year, 1 or 2 5/500 a day on average and rarely 3 or 4. There are some days that I have not needed it but most days I do.
Avatar f tn My friend and I were talking the other day and she said, "Oh, my mom said a lady at her prayer group said that there was "a new darvocet out on the market now." Of course I am more than curious since my mom just had to stop darvocet herself. My friend then tells me this "new darvocet" is called Ultracet! Can you believe this? I knew this was coming since darvocet was pulled by the FDA, now the drs. are going to start prescribing ultracet/ultram/tramadol alot more.
446097 tn?1223694666 The problem is I have a MAJOR job interview today and am not feeling well. chills, runny nose, bathroom, etc. I found an Ultracet lying around. Will this help me get through today? I really need to bring my A game.
588822 tn?1222518653 deressioncan be a bad effect after long term use of tramadol..1-3 pills a day is not alot but i have heard of people getting addicted on low doses....there is no tylenol in it unles u r taking ultracet..so i am not sure why ur tummy bothers u...i know that stuff makes me feel weird so it was never something i wanted to abuse...lucky for me i guess...anyway it is habitforming and it would be easier to get off now than later....so u r only taking 50-150 mg a day? (818) 773-9999 ..
366131 tn?1212562534 I have tried quiting several times and this has been the easiest, because I used ultracet. That stuff worked wonders for me. I only needed this for 4 days. I just thought I would share my experience if it can help somebody else...
439522 tn?1214951189 Well I can just tell you my experiences, but you should know that with withdraw everyone can react differently. That said, I was on Ultram ER (200 mg 1x daily) and Ultracet (37.5 mg 4x daily) and was taken off of them to switch meds temporarily but then switched back recently...anyways while I was getting off of them I had little withdrawl symptoms and not even close to comprable of when I had withdrawls from oxy/percocet/morphine....
Avatar f tn My husband just had his Gallbladder removed and he was addict for 13 years he's been clean for 7 the dr prescribed him Ultracet and he's scared to take it for the pain because of his addictive past. The Dr knew he was a addict and told him they are not addictive but reading online it says it is should he get the script filled or just take OTC meds? If OTC what should he take?
Avatar n tn Is there a formula for weaning yourself off ultracet? Am taking 5-6 a day for 3 years. What can I expect?
Avatar f tn ultracet has acetominophen (tylenol) in them, and the tramadol doesnt. They can come in varying dosages. Why is he taking them? Does he want to quit? Tram is a dangerous drug to take and to stop, you have to taper down slowly or you could have seizures. You can have seizures from takign too many as well. How long has he been on them?
Avatar f tn I just got back from the dr. and he gave me a script for ultracet....I dont know anything about this drug...He said it was in the same family as vicoden...which now has me worried ..I dont want to go from one addiction to another...Is this drug like vicoden? Is it addicting?? Please help! Thank you for any input anyone may have.
