Recently diagnosed with MS (November) and they are starting me with the drug Tysabri. Trying to find out what to expect and if it is helping others with their symptoms?
All new to this, really have no idea what I need to know or ask? Just looking for someone with some insight on what I will experience.

I was diagnosed last fall with secondary progressive MS. By the time I realized there was something wrong I had already moved from relapsing, remitting MS to secondary progressive. Turns out I've had MS for more than 20 years!
My MS doc started me on Tysabri in November and I've had 6 infusions. The goal is to keep my MY from progressing any further. He seems confident that Tysabri will do this.
I have been treated with tysabri for about 18 months. (Prior, all the CRABs) I had a MRI recently reviewed by same radiologist who did several of mine in 2008. He notes increase in size of specific lesions from previous reports including his own, yet refers to them as unchanged. He also notes prominent perivascular spaces are seen within the lower basal ganglia bilaterally. I can see it clearly on the film as well.
In January 2009, my PTH was 69.7 pg/ml, in November 2009 my PTH was 65.8. Last week my PTH was 109 pg/ml. My calcium was. 10.7 mg/dl in January 2009, was 9.55 mg/dl in November 2009 and was 9.17 mg/dl last week. My alkaline phosphatase was 126 U/L in January 2009, was 125 U/L in November 2009 and was 106 U/L last week. My Bone Alkaline Phosphatase was 150.0 U/L in January 2009, was 125.0 U/L in November 2009 and was 77 U/L last week.

I recently went from 143lbs to 119lbs.... In a very short space of time, probably from so many relpases and probaly from the stress of a diagnosis. Shortly after Christmas my neurologist discontinued Copaxone becuase the injection sites almost as if it was not being absorbed. I had incredibly angry looking itchy patches.
I stayed off a DMD for almost 3 months and thats how long it took for this flair up to go down.
Due to capsular wrinkling, I had a YAG laser capsulotomy on August 5, 2009. I had pronounced glare at night, so on November 5, 2009, I had a second capsulotomy (the YAG opening was enlarged). The glare condition has not improved (today is November 8, 2009). Can you suggest how long it takes for an improvement in the glare condition to be noticeable?
