5 months ago, it was a small patch of white with 7-8 tiny pimples which lasted a day until it turned into the shiny patch. When I saw a urologist, he gave me Nystatin and Triamcinolone Acetonide Cream and it worked, but has now come back. There is no itch and no pain. The whole penis is reddish in color sometimes. What could be the problem? Thank you.
Hi, A urologist diagnosed that I have a fungus on my penis head. It is small and on the left side. He prescribed Nystatin and Triamcinolone. I also have inflammed prostate treated with Cipro 500mg. I had unprotected oral sex one month ago. I took 4 pills and a shot on two different occassions. All the std exams, all negative. The urologist says what I have is not sex related. So where would I get a fungus? I can think of no other explanation then the sex.
The doctor said it was probably caused by the antibiotics given before the surgery, and he prescribed Nystatin-Triamcinolone cream (Mycolog II). Now, 3 months later and after applying 2 tubes of the cream over this time period, the fungus has reappeared in full force. It looks like a large patch of red and yellow blotches. Is there another medication preferable to the Nystatin?

Tumeric, Wormwood/Black Walnut, colostrum (for immunity)
Hello, I am curious how one could get a fungus on the penis. It is very small, on the left side only, and no pimples nor puss. In my case, my std tests are negative and I took the 4 pill and one shot regimen just in case, My only exposure out of the normal is going into a massage parlor and receiving hand and unprotected oral. A urologist checked me out and said the fungus was not std related. He prescribed me Nystatin and Triamcinolone which seems to be working.
About 2 months ago, I felt itching on the side of my penis. When I looked, the first thing I noticed were 3 little red dots on the head of my penis that did not itch or burn. Then I observed the skin where the itching took place and it was dark in color and the skin was bumpy. I saw the doctor IMMEDIATELY. Crying, fearful, and thinking that I had gotten the merciless life-long STD: Genital Herpes, the doctor told me it was fungus. "Phew! What a relief", I thought.
Redness of the head of the penis is usually irritation, not yeast or fungus. If it were fungus, the creams you used would have gotten rid of it a long time ago. The fact that they didn't probably means not that you have a resistant fungus but that you don't have a fungus at all, and quite possibly never did. I advise you to see a doctor who is more familiar with penile rashes, as well as evaluation of urinary burning. Meantime, don't put any medications on it, just bland moisturizers. Best.
I went to my dermatologist and he prescribed RetinA ,Diprosone(Betamethasone Dipropionate) for the KP and Mikozal (Miconazole nitrate) for the fungus. Nothing seem to work for KP, and the fungal spots go away and come back in summer. For the discoloration caused by the Lichen Planus and KP,I've tried moisturizing, scrubbing, drinking loads of water and nothing worked !! Please HELP :( !!!
Biopsy of skin irritation on butt indicate psoriasis. Rule out bacteria, rule out fungus, rule out herpes. Doctor prescribed Fluocinonide and Triamcinolone Acetonide. Irritated skin heals after a couple weeks, but area around anus is very sensitive, and when wiping etc gets sore. Doctor then prescribed Nystatin and Triamcinolone Acetonide, and says to use for a couple weeks, directly applying to anus area (the orig. problem is not a factor at this point).
The doctor told me they were all fungi and gave me a nystatin/triamcinolone acetonide cream. My fingers and groin cleared up quickly. I then stopped the medication for it seemed to completely disappear, but then 2 weeks later, the process on my fingers came back. The fungal infection on my groin is long gone and has not reappeared in any form. Now the nystatin medication would not work on my fingers. For some strange reason, the left index finger cleared up on it's own.
I can't think of how, unless you're putting a steroid cream on the same skin that you're trying to get rid of a fungus from using the Lamisil. That might counteract the Lamisil's effectiveness. Otherwise, I can't think of an interaction, with either a cream or a pill. Best. Dr.
My dog has been licking and chewing inbetween 2 toes right at the claw base on one foot. So much so, it has bled. Seems to be worse in the mornings. Can I use nystatin & triamcinolone oniment or maybe coritisone or should she see our family vet ? I have been keeping this foot covered with a sock, which seems to help so far. This has been going on for a week.
i have a ringworm shaped rash on my right aerola that appeared a week ago and started as a red small dot like a mosquito bite yesterday it only was on the outside edges of my aerola. now it is shaped like a ringworm!!. should I be thinking cancer??? or a type of fungus and any suggestions of ointment I can use? I have a 2yr old rx of triamcinolone acetonide . .
I have seen an urologist and was prescribed an ointment nystatin and triamcinolone. It seems to work when I apply it but as soon as I stop the symptoms come back. I have seen this doctor several times telling him that the medication suppress the symptoms but is not curing the problem and have asked him what it is and his response is that it is a fungus and to continue to apply the ointment. My question is, is he right that it is a fungus and if so what is it and does it go away?
so i called pharmacist and asked if nystatin and triamcinolone acetonide cream was ok to use and the pharmacist said yes.. so i used it for about three weeks and it still the same. what should i do? thank you. cloud2007 This discussion is related to Belly Button Fungus?.

i ve had a FUNGUS on my penis and pubic region for about 2 years . after about 6 months or so maybe more, the little white heads (fungus) on my pubic region went away .. as it was going away they started to pop like pimples . i still have the ones on the head of my penis and lately they seem to be getting worse . they aslo get worse when i have sex or matserbate. possibly because of the friction they get erated .
I saw my derm she said it might be like acny/irritation or a fungus so she prescribed clindamycin fot the ance or irritation and econazole for the fungus. Since i started using it the dead skin went away but my scrotum is now bright red and shinny almost - seems irriated and the spots are still red, maybe getting a litte better, but i feel more patchs are apearing. Its only been a few days but could it be the creams that mad my scrotum do this?
I went to the doctor and he prescibed me Nystatin cream with Triamcinolone and Fluconazole 150mg single tablet assuming it was a fungus. It helped for a couple of weeks, but the itching came back. I have tried every natural topical remedy on the internet, taken various supplements and changed my diet, still nothing works. My girlfriend also says everytime we have sex she gets a yeast infection, which also leads me to believe it is a type of yeast/fungus.
For approx 2 years I have had a stubborn fungal growth around my mouth that is controllable using the many antifungals I have, both over the counter and prescribed. However, when I try to grow a mustache, the fungus is unresponsive to antifungal medications and becomes a brown scab. As soon as I shave, and apply one off the antifungals, it disappears within 2 days. It has disappeared completely due to regular shaving.
I went to the doctor a week ago he gave me nystatin and triamcinolone acetonide cream and really hasnt helped. any ideas im going crazy thanks !
i was told by our medic that it was heat rash and he gave me some triamcinolone acetonide cream. I used the cream for a couple days and noticed that the rash started to heal. about a week later when i returned home from training the rash returned. now the cream seems to have no effect and it is getting worse by the day. there are no pustules or ingrown hairs, just red itchy bumps that wont go away. poison ivy and sumack have already been ruled out.
Hi, Tinea cruris, is the fungus responsible for jock itch. This is best treated with topical creams or ointments since the fungus only affects the top layer of skin. Creams used to treat jock itch should be applied twice a day for at least two weeks. It can be stopped after the rash has been gone for one week. However, steroids should not be used in the groin alone without consulting your doctor since steroids alone can make the rash of jock itch much worse.
Hello, From the symptoms and picture it looks like tinea versicolor. Tinea versicolor is caused by a fungus that lives in the skin of almost all adults. Factors that can cause the fungus to become more visible include high humidity and immune or hormone abnormalities. Treatment involves topical and oral antifungal medicines.
It doesn't bother me at all its right under the foreskin it doesn itch or anything doesn't seem to get bigger either, is there any way i had a fungus which healed and left that rash type of mark? And also the doctor tested me for all type of stds all negative.
Thank you, Grace. My urologist said it was fungus. He prescribed me a topical anti-fungus, but it is still there 2.5 months later.
My Dr has prescribed several things, Lotrisone lotion, nystatin and triamcinolone acetonide cream, for example. Nothiing helps although I admit I maybe didn't continue using it long enough. Now,if it should hurt at night I apply a warm compress which helps. Then I use gold bond medicated powder. After the stinging stops it feels better. I have also used desitin ointment. That helps but only for a short time and I quit using it. NOw for rest of the story.
it is otherwise asymptomatic. I have been applying a nystatin and triamcinolone acetonide USP prescription cream that my friend had for something- I figured it might help if its a fungus, although it does not appear to have helped. Any thoughts would be appreciated.
