378273 tn?1262097621 Finally I heard from the vet - she was not concerned and said what I describe are common side effects. She agreed with my lowering the dosage. She said it can take up to 2 weeks for the side effects to subside. There is an emergency place a couple of miles away; which I will take her to if she gets worse, but she has greatly improved in the last 12 hours or so. She can now get up on her own most of the time and seems more alert.
Avatar f tn Tramadol has a bundle of side effects including addiction....hard to withdraw from due to their narcotic and anti-depressent qualities...i have heard people complain of alot of side effects while taking them...i guess i am confused but i thought u had an addiction to norco?
Avatar m tn ve had dogs on rimadyl for many years due to arthritis and they never had a problem with it. Tramadol was reserved for post-op pain treatment and only for a few days. Can you give us more information on exactly what kind of pain your chow chow has and any other meds that have been tried? I suspect the seizures while on tramadol may have been a coincidence, but without more information on your dog's case I could be completely wrong.
1550149 tn?1340000730 Constipation; Diarrhea; Dizziness; Drowsiness; Dry Mouth; Increased Sweating; Headache; Loss of Appetite; Nausea. This is not complete and I am sure there are more, less common side effects. I took Tramadol for a short term but it was simply not effective for me. Among the side effects are dry mouth, this would seem to indicate that your mucosa can be dry which may account for your dry eyes. I cannot find reports of ENT side effects such as your under water feeling.
Avatar f tn okay went back and did some hunting. this is a quote: "there are many side effects with using pain meds for cats however based on all avail info at this time the ones with the fewest side effects and safest for cats are the following..... Buprenorphine(buprenex) Butorphanol(torbutrol, torbugesic) Tramadol(Ultram) Fentanyl(duragesic) probably the worst one I've read about is metacam, this one can cause blindness among other problems...beware, many Vets still use it!!
535089 tn?1400673519 Our 9 year old pug has calcium deposits on her hind legs and she takes tramadol. The only side effects have been drowsiness for the first few weeks and then sometimes a lack of appitite. So far no main problems. I would just keep an eye on him for the first while and he should be fine.
Avatar m tn I thought it was a problem with my heart so i called a ambulance and they done all the checks on my heart and i was fine. t is side effects to tramadol. Today i still feel weak and sickly and a little bit spaced out. How long does tramadol stay in your system for its been 18 hours now so frustrating.
Avatar m tn What you describe is not a side effect of gabapentin. They contraindicate its use in dogs that have kidney deficits, but the only side effects are vomiting, depression, excessive sleepiness and loss of balance. None of the other medications should cause otic issues either, especially since he's not new to taking them. It sounds like your dog has possibly developed otitis externa on top of whatever he's taking the gabapentin and other medications for.
539209 tn?1225972263 Hello Dear, Lyrica does cause dizzinees, drowsiness and sedation. Do not stop using Lyrica suddenly without first talking to your doctor. You may need to use less and less before you stop the medication completely.
Avatar f tn On the Cerenia packaging it said that excessive drooling was a side effect of the drug. I realize that drooling also goes with anxiety and vomiting. Rocky actually drooled ALOT more on the Cerenia than when he got sick. We still do many short trips with him and hopefully he'll outgrow this. I only will use the meds on a long trip. Thanks for the responses.
Avatar f tn My German Shepherd was recently prescribed incurin and it has caused her not to eat and a little bit aggressive and scared... She also was running around with her hackles up and starting fights with my other dogs...She only had 3 or 4 days of it and then I took her off of it this last Sunday was her last dose...She still is not wanting to eat and not 100% back to herself? How long do the side effects last...It was taking me an hour and a half to get her to eat 2 cups of food...
2030686 tn?1351688548 I started double therapy yesterday and I just wanna make sure my sides are normal.. I had the chills from time to time, but I was hot more. What I'm concerned about is my legs and hips hurt so bad I could barely walk. I 'm on a high dose of vicodin and it didn't seem to touch this pain. I had a small amount of chest pain on the left side, but it was mild pain and didn't last long. I took a hot bath for my legs and it helped for a little while, but the pain came back.
Avatar m tn He had a third seizure there and the vet diagnosed epilepsy. He is on phenobarbitol and had no side effects until last night when he vomited and started head twitching. He is drooling a lot and a bit wobbly. Is this typical? Will it stop ?
Avatar f tn They were all side effects of this drug and withdrawing from it is worse than the side effects, but I am not going to be held hostage to a drug. I rue the day that I asked my GP to prescribe it - and he very willingly gave it to me. Only two good things have come of it - I reverse diagnosed myself and realized all the aches and pains and cold sensitivity are probably due to fibromyalgia (I fit all the symptoms) and I've lost some 12 lbs I've been wanting to get rid of for years :-).
Avatar f tn So I was on gabapentin for 2 and a half years. I have fibromyalgia and chronic pain from scoliosis. I'm already prescribed tramadol. When they put me on it, it helped me a lot. But I started getting a rash. But I had no clue it was from my drug. Looking back it's the ONLY thing it could be from. I've got spots all over the back of my arms and legs. Some are scars from the ones that where healing. But they wouldn't close!
Avatar n tn Some of the side effects reported vary due to different breeds & several other factors. We have 1 Rottweiler mix male & 2 rescued dogs (German Rottweiler female & American Rottweiler female). German Rotty was approx 2 y/o when rescued. She had her first seizure approx 2 months ago. Scared me to death. A month later she had another so I knew some of the signs before hand. My mixed male & American Rotty female were going crazy when the seizures occurred.
Avatar m tn Our 14 year old Lab mix Sable has arthritis and is on Tramadol. It doesn’t seem to be working too well. She has many other health problems, and probably doesn’t have a lot of time left, so we would like to make her as comfortable as possible. She has kidney disease, high BP, and a Thyroid problem, so she is on Benazepral, and Thyrosyn. She hasn’t been eating well, and pain may be part of the problem. But, the Tramadol tends to make her loose her appetite.
Avatar f tn When I started treatment they warned me of the side effects, flu like symptoms, depression, headaches and all that good stuff, but the treatment wasn't too bad, they started me on an anti-depressant and medication for my headaches. But for the last yr or more I have been having the flu like symptoms, major body aches mostly in my upper torso, back problems and I have had every test imaginable done to figure out why I am in so much pain everyday. Some days are better than others.
199177 tn?1490498534 Keep the medication in a secure place where others cannot get to it. Tramadol can cause side effects that may impair your thinking or reactions. Be careful if you drive or do anything that requires you to be awake and alert. Do not stop using tramadol suddenly, or you could have unpleasant withdrawal symptoms such as anxiety, sweating, nausea, diarrhea, tremors, chills, hallucinations, trouble sleeping, or breathing problems.
Avatar f tn Hi there, I looked on the side effects of Depakote and I didn't find anything to do with this. I've never been an angry person, nor have I really ever have I ever blasted people or my dogs. I yell at my dogs, have no patience, basically more irritability that I'm not able to control .I'm Bipolar, with mixed states, rapid cycling and have been in the last couple of months, hypomanic.
Avatar f tn in my lower spine and have been on tramadol for 2 years, then Targin (6 weeks), then oxicodone (2 weeks) and now back on tramadol since I had severe side effects with targin and oxicodone (panic attacs, depression, nausea and difficulty breathing) and have now decided to wean off the tramadol mainly because the difficulty in breathing and the associated panic attacks have stayed with me.
Avatar m tn Tramadol could raise your heart rate, and Synthroid does elevate the metabolism, However Thyroid Disease is a Cause of elevated BP and Cholesterol levels, Si I doubt that the medications are responsible for your increased BP, I would advise sharing your concerns with your MD though.
Avatar n tn If this is a small dog and 3ml is a human dose, then yes, it could be harmful.....A large dog would be less likely to suffer as serious side effects....... The same overdose symptoms can happen to a dog as with a human.......You need to look at your package warning label and read them or google side effects of this medication...... If you see anything unusual with your dog's behaviour, you need to seek medical attention ASAP.....Let us know how he/she is doing.....
