Topamax with ambien

Common Questions and Answers about Topamax with ambien

topamax

Avatar n tn Ambien made me have hallucinations and the Topamax is giving me other issues including decreased sex drive. Don't take either. Talk to your dr to find something safe that won't harm you.
Avatar m tn The next week, I replaced the Ambien with Melatonin 1.5mg and cut the Xanax in half. Honestly, I am still not sleeping 8hrs, but it is better (I am on day 13). Since my sleep has started to level off at about 5hrs/night, I am going to go to 1/4 Xanax and then d/c it in a week. I really could not tell any difference in my w/d process by adjusting the other meds....I just didn't sleep and it was horrible.....BUT it does get better.
Avatar f tn I am 31 and been on bipolar meds for 15 years now on cymbalta and topamax but they are causing my blood pressure to drop to low anyone know of any other meds that may help cant take depokate or lithium allergic thanks for the help
Avatar n tn Topamax is used for a lot of things it isn't necessarily labeled for. It's also used for treatment of nerve-related pain. Docs love to give it to patients with spine pain because it's not a narcotic. I know topamax has helped people with pain, but I wasn't one of them. I got every side effect on the fine-print enclosure, including a wooden tongue and numb, nearly paralyzed extremeties. Hadn't even titrated up to a "therapeutic" dose yet.
Avatar m tn Hi JJ- if you google prednisone and hair loss you will find many interesting links to the topic. It appears that complaints about hair loss are near the top of the list of side effects reported with extended prednisone use..... Something about it changes the hormone levels. the good news is it seems it is not a permanent problem - the hair recovers after the prednisone is stopped.
Avatar m tn Ambien CR costs $200 versus $6 for the regular stuff. We did talk about it, and I wanted it, but at $200 a month it just ain't gonna happen. So I'm sticking with the Ambien for now. I don't really want to take higher dosages of temazepam. And like you say, getting off of ambien isn't that difficult, just a bit time consuming as you ramp down the dosage.
Avatar f tn Looking at the possible interactions we should exclude Topamax, I don't think it could interfere badly with the Cymbalta even if there's a small interaction there. Indeed, Tramadol have SNRI proprieties just like Cymbalta but to a lesser extant. If the doctor prescribed those to you it's ok since serotonin syndrome is very unlike. Serotonin syndrome is a rare medical condition that rarely cause trouble. If you experience fever and agitation I would report ASAP at the ER.
768044 tn?1294223436 I am currently taking topamax. Before topamax I tried valproic acid and before that I tried amitriptyline. On the topamax my migraines are currently happening still 15+ a month. Hence wanting to try something else too... When I asked my neurologist about the botox, he said that I couldn't mix the topamax and botox treatments. I hadn't heard this before. He said that in the clinical trials, the people who were on a comination of treatments showed worse results.
Avatar n tn I also cut all alcohol out with the exception of the occasional glass of wine with we are out to dinner with friends…. (Mostly so I don’t look like a party pooper) and anything carbonated taste awful. I still had 13 migraines last month, so the neurologist is still trying to get me on the correct dose. But I also have two lesions on my brain from my migraines so what’s one more…..
Avatar m tn Assuming you had a normal exam with the neuro-ophthalmologist and you had mentioned this its not likely this represents anything serious. It could be hyperawareness of twilight and dark adaptation of the rods in your retina with the bright central vision that comes from cone vision. Your behavior will not damage your eyes but I hope you are working with your personal physician and a psychiatrist on you anxiety and isolation.
Avatar f tn NO!!! you are still 16 days.....just be very carefull with the ambiem.... congrats on 16 days!!!

763205 tn?1234422576 How many pills did you take after going back and counting the tablets? It's not uncommon for people who take ambien or Ambien Cr to not remember doing something. They fall asleep and don't know they're sleeping, so the end up taking more pills because they don't remember taking the 1st one and the cycle keeps on going. I've heard horror stories of people racking up credit cards, diving and cooking while on Ambien.
Avatar f tn Be careful with Trazadone though because it is an anti-depressant and could stimulate manic episodes in someone with Bi-Polar Disease.
Avatar n tn I was on Sub too and they gave me ambien to take with it. they just said no matter what dont drink alcohol with the Ambien.
Avatar f tn I have found another medicine called topamax that can help with my position. It is an off lable so I am going to talk to my dr about trying it. Anneinside I lost much of my weight from diet and working our. I make sure I only eat about 1200 calories a day based on how much I work out. Almost I got put in adderall and it helped a lot. If you go to your gunocologist she may be able to prescribe you bobtrile. It is an aid in weight loss and helps sooooo much!
Avatar n tn Recently I was diagnosed with Transient Global Amnesia. I have had periods of migraine headaches followed by black outs, memory loss, and was hospitalized for seizures. I was placed on a seizure med which I had a terrible reaction to. My driver license has been revoked due to an accident - I drove off a bridge. My headaches have become unbearable and I am having problems finding information that links the TGA, seizures, and migraines.
Avatar m tn At day 19 I thought I would be completely finished with these xanax wd's but they keep coming and coming. Late last night I watched a commercial about Lunesta and they mentioned that a common side effect was new or worsening depression. That caught my attention so I began to frantically research Ambien and every article I've read lists new or worssening depression as a common side effect. I've been taking Ambien off & on for the past 2 years..usually only 1/2 a tablet.
Avatar f tn So it is gradually getting better. But the cyclical part of it concerns me. Why? Yes. I paid attention. Nothing was eaten, done, etc. different or the same to have caused. The first time i did get a rash across my chest and was ultimately diagnosed with Shingles, given an anti-viral - but i don't think that is what it was, Rash was closer to my neck and went away after about 3 days. EKG was fine, so was chest Xray. Medical care isn't great in my area ( especially coming from Boston ).
Avatar f tn My 12 year old daughter was diagnosed with migraines in Sept. She has had an MRI, CT and EEG, all neg. Most of the time they present with a feeling of dizziness, or wavy lines, also a numb knee, occasionally with the severe pain. Since the middle of March till now, she has only been in school for 8 days due to these. When they start, they stay for 3-4 days. She is on 25 mg. Topamax in the AM and 50 at night.
Avatar f tn My husband has been suffering from chronic migranes for 2 years, he has taken all sorts of antidepression meds: celexa, zoloft, paxil, just to name a few. He was also given midrine and perscribed topamax but was so expensive we were unable to purchase it and after some of the things I've read about the eye problems I'm not sure if I want him to try it. He did have an MRI but there were no signs of tumors and such. Does anyone have any suggestions?
