) I have no physical signs of MS except recently I have blurry vision in my left eye alot of the time. I also get headaches if not everyday than every other. So he started me on Topamax for the headaches, it has been miserable with the side effects and I'm not taking anything to help the blurred vision. I feel like I'm not sure what else to do, I dont know if there is anything you can take for blurred vision??
is topamax used to treat a back injury? everything that I reads say migraines, seizures, well I don't have seizures or migraines. I have a bad knee and I have a bad back. I started Topamax and it makes me feel so bad. The pain is worse than before? is this normal? my feet hand and vision are all affectative. Numbness in feet and hands, just plain can't see. blured vision. lousy feeling

Hi there Dr perscribed me Topamax for my migraines and I am a little nervous to try them. I heard you can also lose weight with this. I quit smoking 4 weeks ago and have put on quite a bit of weight, so was wondering if you can share your experiences and side effects to see if it is worth it.
I have been suffering with severe migraines with aura (blurred vision in right eye, numbness in right side of face upto a week after headache has gone)
I was informed last week the a blood test I had 2 years ago showed antiphospholipid antibodies (mine were 28 and was told they should be between 0 and 19) I have been told to take asprin each day and 30mg amitriptyline. I am trying to find out if this is hereditary and is it something I have always had or something that has just happened?
Flashing lights on the rightside, waving vision, and then resently it progressed to loss of vision for twenty minutes at a time in that right eye. Then on the Topamax that cleared up. Also I experienced numbness in my hands and feet with that. Do you think it is seizures or something else. Seizures is keeping me from getting insurance. So needless to say I am very interested in finding closure on this issue.
Besides very mild myopia, my vision is otherwise normal and I do not experience tunnel vision or zig-zagging lights or any of the other visual symptoms typically associated with ocular migraines. I occasionally have minor headaches due to dehydration or emotional distress, but there is no correlation whatsoever to those headaches and the lights. Hi, for the last 3 weeks I´ve been struggling with my vision. First it was something similar to snow vision that bothered me mostly in dim light. But now is more like my vision isn't a clear cut 'panel', as though something is in my field of vision distorting it and I cannot say where exactly. It is both in the distance and up close and it still is more bearable during the day.
Already been to an opthamologist and done OCT and he says everything is fine with my eyes.
When I sit in a dark room, when watching tv for example it looks like my peripheral vision is flashing. When I look directly towards my peripheral vision it goes away. If I open the curtains or put the light on I can't see it either. If I am out and about even at night I don't see it.
I don't think I have paid attention to it previously so am not sure if it has always been there, but now I am looking out for it all the time and is causing some anxiety so keep testing myself.
Beginning to wonder if it actually is migraines, but then it disappeared for a year instantly on the topamax, and then the topamax has made me feel just as bad again over a year later?!

Has any of your symtoms started after to Topamax? and if so have the doctors run a Topamax level. Another issue is sometime there are problems with the name brand and the generic. A good place to start is with your pharmacist He can get you a full list of side effects and th other stuff that is in the pill. I also take a number of medications, including Topamax for migraine, blood pressure meds, Celebrex, asthma medication and diabetes medication. However I have had recurring visual disturbances that only happen at night. I get up in the middle of the night - to go to the bathroom - and the bathroom is covered in geometric patterns, like a checkered pattern or little lacework pattern. It's everywhere, the walls, tub, sink, floor. I feel like I'm tripping on something!
