These symptoms have been going on for over 2 years and taking Lyrica, Cymbalta, and Topamax have not worked. I do not respond well to medications at all. Now, the muscle fatigue in my thighs have gotten worse. My other symptoms are constipation despite on fiber therapy, eye strain, and am easily dizzy.
Is this CFS?
My husband has been suffering from chronic migranes for 2 years, he has taken all sorts of antidepression meds: celexa,zoloft,paxil, just to name a few. He was also given midrine and perscribed topamax but was so expensive we were unable to purchase it and after some of the things I've read about the eye problems I'm not sure if I want him to try it. He did have an MRI but there were no signs of tumors and such. Does anyone have any suggestions?
I have been having major gas and bloating and abdominal pain for about the past 6-8 months. I have a history of fibromylasia and have been diagnosed with IBS with constipation in the past. This is totally different and my BM have actually been pretty regular. This comes with after eating. I bloat out with just about any food and have cut out different things and can not pin point any certain thing. I look like I am about 6 months pregnant and am in much distress. I am very irritable.
Has any of your symtoms started after to Topamax? and if so have the doctors run a Topamax level. Another issue is sometime there are problems with the name brand and the generic. A good place to start is with your pharmacist He can get you a full list of side effects and th other stuff that is in the pill. no need to live in such stress, please start to take Topamax and try never do an effort or ''constipation push'', I highly suspect a ruptured aneurysm necessitating peace and some studies like CT-angio, because we may find it! In case of doing nothing this event can appear again whenever u sneez or cough or hold your breath during sneezing!!! So try to never hold a breath because that will elevate the pressure in your head.
I have suffered from migraines since my late 20's. I am now 49. I have tried any and every migrained med, some work, some don't. My doctor has just suggested topamax. Has anyone taken this? Does it work? I am also hypothyroid and take 200mcg of synthroid, will there be issues taking these two meds together? I read that one of the side effects of topamax is weight loss. This I wouldnt mind as Ive put on weight due to my hypothyroid. But, the biggest thing would not have these headaches.
I was on 50 mg topamax at bedtime and have recently decided to stop (per dr.)I was only on it for 10 days, but had terrible side effects. Since stopping the MEDs. the side effects are crazy! I feel all of this anxiety and I cannot sleep, I have bizarre thoughts and zero appetite. This has been going on since I stopped 2 days ago. Anyone else experience this and more importantly how many days til I feel better???
and i have bad peripheral vision .. my doctor prescribed topamax.. i am wondering how long it would take too notice the affects???
About 1.5 yrs now I have been on Topamax. Also around that time, my thyroid started acting up. I started losing my hair, cold hands and feet, feeling very tired, bad memory etc.. Now my symptoms have escalated. My memory is to the point where I can’t even remember simple words. I am depressed all the time and can’t get out of bed during the day. Then I can’t sleep at night.

Hi there Dr perscribed me Topamax for my migraines and I am a little nervous to try them. I heard you can also lose weight with this. I quit smoking 4 weeks ago and have put on quite a bit of weight, so was wondering if you can share your experiences and side effects to see if it is worth it.
I was building the topamax up and lowering the lamictal down. Now I am just on the topamax. The side affects seem quite scary to me, severe dizziness and very off balance, I am always tired and have tingling in the hands and feet. I seem loss for words and confused. Will these side affects deteriorate over the a certain amount of time? It is difficult when I have to go to work and live everyday life. Please help.
My doctor recently started me on 25mg of Topamax twice daily. I am on day two, with no relieve yet. Can anyone tell me how long it will take to see any difference? Any information would be appreciated.
I have been off Topamax for approx. 8 months and was wondering if I began to take Topamax again would it help with weight loss or once it has leveled off it will no longer aid in weight loss? I currently take Maxalt for headaches only as needed so the Topamax was only used as an anti-seizure med. My 2 yr. old grandson has been on topamax for his epilepsy for 4 months. Before that he was on another med that caused him to be very aggressive So we asked that his med be changed. He now barely eats anything solid everyday. He does drink pediasure 16 oz. a day. His weight has remained at 25 lbs. since starting the med. Should we try to have his med changed due to his loss of appetite since starting topamax /?
