i am just starting to take a low dose of topamax at 50mg a day and not going to increase to more than 100mg a day and i am wondering if this will interfere with my lutera pills?? i have read that it lowers the effectiveness but i have also read that it doesnt happen until you reach doses of 200mg or more. i have also heard that by increasing your birth control dose you can help the effectiveness and my doctor specifically prescribed lutera because it has a higher dosage than most BC.

I started Topamax like 2 months ago and I got my period for like a month straight and this month I haven't gotten it yet, but my gyno says it's normal. antibiotics can reduce the effectiveness of birth control pills. You should use a back up method of protection such as condoms while you are taking the antibiotics. Other than that there aren't any interactions between the two.
