Likewise, I was given eye drops (TobraDex) after the floxin ear drops failed to clear up a resistant infection. I don't think it will hurt you, but mine burned a bit when I first put them in. My ENT said the eye drops have a steroid, so they it is more aggressive at killing infections. Anyways, after 3 weeks of the eye drops....even the eye drops hasn't fully killed the infection, so I guess I have a particularly nasty strain.

Bear with me if this is too long, but I'd like to hear some opinions. My ophthal. has recently diagnosed me with low/normal pressure glaucoma. He says I also have some cataract in the same eye. The pain is a shooting stabbing pain, starting behind the eye/under the eyelid and shooting up to my forehead and to the side through my temple and near the ear. The pain stays to the front top left of my head and after the initial stabbing pain, it decreases slowly to a throbbing painful ache. That pain lingers until I move the eye again to cause the stabbing pain. There is also slight blurred/hazy vision in my left eye. I wear contacts, my prescription is -10 in both eyes.
DonĀ“t know if this is relevant but today I had fever (39 C in ear) and rather sore throat. Started using drops in right eye as well according to doctors indications because it is also getting red.
frequent ear infections and ear tubes, mild asthma & eczema as a young child. March 12, 2007 - Dirt in her eyes during golf. Both eyes were blood red within 2 hours. Again I thank you for your response. I had absolutely the worst dream last night because when I woke up in the middle of the night (a few times) it was hard for me to believe reality and I felt as if my life was that dream. It just screwed with my mind badly and I tried to snap out of it but I couldn't. So I did not get a very good sleep, and now that I am awake I am still tired, I have a headache, I still cannot hear out of my left ear very well, and my throat is still sore.
It certainly would be worth it to try a round of antibiotic drops. Ask your Eye MD about Iquix. It would be the Eye MD's option also to try a short (2 weeks or < ) of a antibiotic/steroid drop like tobradex. Also discuss using TheraTears SteriLid lid to clean the lid of the oil that plugs the pores and causes this problem.
my eye doctor told me it was due to mild allergies and prescribed eye drops which didnt help in the least so i turned to over the counter allergy medicine which hasn't helped either (so i dont think it's allergies) and in the last 3 weeks not only are my eyelids itchy but when i wake up in the morning my upper eye lids are bright red and swelled up so bad that its embarassing!!!!
He thinks maybe viral conjunctivitis or a blocked tear duct. He prescribes Tobradex drops and I use them for a few days. He told me to come back Saturday morning if there was no improvement. I wish I'd never gone back, but I did. I went back and he attempted to probe my tear duct.

Incidently, my eyes have improved hugely over the last 24 hours after the use of some eye drops... I'm thinking it might have been blepharitis as the eye drops I used were supposed to heal it. Thanks again. Alex.
