All they can tell me is that their recommendation for pregnant women, especially in the third trimester, is to take Tamiflu even without symptoms if there has been exposure but that it is my decision. I am 5 weeks pregnant with my 3RD baby. I came down with a cold on Thursday. My cough is horrible and I have been running fevers a lot. I called my OB and she called in a RX for tamiflu. I've never been on it before but she assured me that it was safe. She said my cough may turn into pneumonia or bronchitis and that may be worse then taking the meds. Get to a doctor and get a tamiflu prescription asap if you test positive. It took me almost a month to recover.

My OB called me and told me that as a prevention she wanted to put me on Tamiflu which is not recommended for pregnant women because the side effects are unknown. She said that the benefits would outweigh the negatives most likely because there have already been deaths linked to this strain of flu. The pharmacist didn't seem worried because I am 18 weeks along. Any of you ladies been put on tamiflu? Should I trust my doctor and pharmacist?

I want to give myself the best chance of conceiving naturally but with the help of some medication. If I am not able to conceive without IVF, I think I would take that as a sign that I am just too old and by the time they did all their workups and procedures, I would be more like 44! t realize how sick I had gotten and it turned into pneumonia. I was hospitalized for 9 days with it.

s no need to go back to the doctors so early just stick to their prescription and wait 2-3 weeks if Tamiflu doesn't work just throw it away and go back to the Docs and tell them. anxiety is collateral to all unexplained illness. if you have a bacterial infection in the throat or bronchi chew some sliced garlic. also throat antiseptic can help.

I was diagnosed with influenza on sunday in the er and the doctor prescribed me with tamiflu 75mg but I'm worried about my baby getting harmed by the medication because I'm only 14 weeks...any comments or recommendations???

My four-year-old grandson, who has leukemia, was just diagnosed with the flu despite having the shot this year. I also had the shot prior to my diagnosis. I have been so miserable for a whole week now. There is no relief and at times I feel like I'm dying. Yes. Your doctor should have given you a prescription of Tamiflu immediately. It would have helped tremendously. If you are having trouble breathing and your chest hurts, you need to get to the doctor, immediately.

I've just gotten over the flu, I had it last week and didn't throw up until the next week. That was about three or four days ago I only threw up twice and it was very little. My only comment is that our local hospital (I work there) is prescribing tamiflu (an anti-viral) for patients in the high-risk groups if they come down with flu symptoms. This needs to be started as soon as possible to have the maximum effect. Please advise your daughter to call her PCP or her oncologist to get this prescription right away!

I realize you probably already know this from all the good information from the community, but I would just like to reinerate that as long if you only have (1) Doctor that wrote both controlled prescriptions you will be just fine. Please remember I'm no Dr., and don't have all the answers, but with that said I like to give healthy opinions.

No need to worry, but you are going to feel worse and worse as your Free T4 and Free T3 levels diminish as a result of being without Synthroid for 2 weeks. I don't know how the VA handles prescription meds, but it sounds like they send them direct. In view of you needing them now, is it possible that they could phone in a prescription to a pharmacy nearby where you live? Or alternatively could you go and pick up a prescription at the VA?
