I took tamiflu during last pregnancy. Safer to take to make u feel better than the risk of u staying so ill. With all meds there are risks but in this case it's better to take the meds and get better faster. I felt way better after 2 days. If I remember tamiflu is only for 5 days. Good luck. Tamiflu is in no way safe during pregnancy. The risks outweigh the benefits I'm pretty sure.its class c. I had flu last January 7 months pregnant and they couldn't give me anything. But tell me to stay hydrated!!

OB says to take Tamiflu and start today, but Tamiflu is not recommended for pregnancy based on unknown reactions to unborn children. Hubby and I don't know what decision is the best for us. Any opinions? The prescription is waiting for me...just so scared either way. I am leaning towards taking my chances and not taking it, but that is not the recommendation. I am 5 weeks pregnant with my 3RD baby. I came down with a cold on Thursday. My cough is horrible and I have been running fevers a lot. I called my OB and she called in a RX for tamiflu. I've never been on it before but she assured me that it was safe. She said my cough may turn into pneumonia or bronchitis and that may be worse then taking the meds. I never went thru this with my boys so I'm a little unsure. I did research and it seems safe. What are others opinion on this.

I would get the pharmacist to show you in their book the reasins its not safe in pregnancy..i kno the antidepressants i used to take can cause heart defects to a baby in the first trimester..somethings are only a problem then..

Get to a doctor and get a tamiflu prescription asap if you test positive. It took me almost a month to recover.

5 and stayed around this for 4 days my cough was getting worse so I took Tamiflu. After one pill of tamiflu I had terrible hives all over my body. I never had anything like this before. My doctor prescribed me one injection of Tavegyl and Zyrtec and Erius for 5 days. And only after five days my hives disappeared. You should try going to the hospital , they'll give you medicine there . I went to the labor and delivery room since I'm far in my pregnancy already i got told i had the type A flu and they gave me " tamiflu " and I was also dehydrated . The nurse told me that she was glad I came in cause it could of gotten worse . Better safe than sorry !

I've been prescribed Tamiflu but have seen some concern about it's potential damage to the liver. I have compensated cirrhosis (7 yrs) and am basically very healthy except for this flu. I've read that the drug elevates liver enzymes. Can't call gi doc as Friday night. Thanks for any comments!

My sons and husband had the H1n1 last week, and I called my Dr right away and got on Tamiflu, which prevented me from getting sick at all. Trust me, I was very unsure about taking the Tamiflu, but I felt it was better than ending up very sick or dead. I still worry about what adverse effects the drug might have on my unborn baby.
