tamiflu

Avatar n tn There is a human Parvovirus known commonly as Fifth Disease, but it has no relationship to Canine Parvovirus. Canine Parvovirus does not seem to be contagious to humans and cleaning your house with dilute bleach should remove the infection from your home as Ireneo has described above, but it is imperative to check with your Pediatrician and Infectious Disease Doctor at the hospital where your child is currently being treated.
Avatar m tn Pavavirus (not to be confused with parvovirus) is entirely possible. She's 8 months old and getting ready to hit puberty, so it could also be canine acne, the characteristics of which can resemble pavavirus. Canine acne is common in boxers, too. Spaying her would help that if that's what it is. Has she been examined by a vet? They would be able to tell you with certainty what these are, and then your mind would be put at ease.
Avatar f tn Canine Parvovirus cannot be transmitted to humans. Just keep the bite clean and free of infection.
Avatar m tn Can I give my puppy just the parvovirus vaccine that came with the adenovirus type 2 parainfluenza modified live virus canine spectra 5 since the parainfluenza one was broke and nothing inside, my puppy is about 6-7 mos old chihuahua and has been sick for a day or two now, wont eat or drink, not lethargy though, but I have given her some pepto what I could get in her.
Avatar f tn My daughter just called the vet and they are taking their new puppy in because the vet thinks she has parvo. Can humans get canine parvo? She has a 7 year old child. Also, is the treatment for dogs usually successful?
18818160 tn?1468368536 canine distemper, adenovirus type 2 parainfluenza - parvovirus vaccine. It says live virus as well. If anyone has any advice please let me know asap. I did call the vet but they just said that the shot should have had side effects a lot sooner and to bring her in. Money is the issue right now or she would have went. I am beyond worried about my sweet little girl. She is an inside dog but does get to go outside.
Avatar n tn In both cases, the most common antigens in these vaccines are Canine distemper, canine parvovirus, canine adenovirus (which cross protects against canine hepatitis) and parainfluenza. The additional 2 in the "7 in 1" vaccine are usually 2 strains of leptospirosis. The leptospirosis vaccine is actually created from bacteria (and should actually be called a bacterin). The cell wall componenets of these bacteria can cause reactions in some dogs that can be quite severe.

Avatar m tn It sounds a lot like Canine parvovirus, which is dangerous and fatal. When it comes to parvovirus there are a number of symptoms to look out for. The disease makes it impossible for the dog to absorb liquids and nutrients and as a result, the dog will suffer from diarrhea and may also experience lethargy and vomiting. There is a loss of appetite. Most dogs stop eating and have particularly foul smelling and bloody, liquid stool.
Avatar n tn We see the benefits of vaccination programs everyday with the fact that it is rare for our dogs or owned cats to develop rabies and people in the US who die from rabies now normally only get it through bats. Although canine parvovirus is still prevalent in the US, the number of dogs that die from this dreaded disease has been greatly reduced due to vaccines. The same can be said of canine distemper, feline distemper and many other disease, human and pet alike. So...
Avatar f tn s protected against things like distemper, canine parainfluenza, parvovirus and other things. Make an appointment for her tomorrow morning before things have a chance to progress further.
1096641 tn?1271707225 Feline Panleukopenia is a viral disease that is similar to, and thought to be the precursor to, canine parvovirus. Avatar f tn 30 weeks pregnant, has anyone ever took tamiflu while pregnant? Any side affects to you or your child after birth?
Avatar n tn I am 5 weeks pregnant with my 3RD baby. I came down with a cold on Thursday. My cough is horrible and I have been running fevers a lot. I called my OB and she called in a RX for tamiflu. I've never been on it before but she assured me that it was safe. She said my cough may turn into pneumonia or bronchitis and that may be worse then taking the meds. I never went thru this with my boys so I'm a little unsure. I did research and it seems safe. What are others opinion on this.
4355200 tn?1354593144 My four-year-old grandson, who has leukemia, was just diagnosed with the flu despite having the shot this year. I also had the shot prior to my diagnosis. Obviously it doesn't cover strain B, which is what he has. My husband and I kept him until this morning so we have been exposed big time. Does anyone know about Tamiflu and whether or not it should be taken with HCV. My guess is it's okay, but my hepa will not respond to any of my questions, so I'm asking here.
Avatar n tn I am currently 16 weeks pregnant and just found out I have the flu. My OB put me on Tamiflu but my primary said she wasn't sure about it. Has anyone been on this while pregnant? I'm worried it's going to hurt the baby. Also it did get the flu vaccine, I was only a couple weeks pregnant so I didn't know but I'm a little mad they push a vaccine that obviously doesn't work.
Avatar n tn told us that he was not eleigible to recieve a prescription for Tamiflu. Where can I find any federal or state restictions for eleigibility.
Avatar f tn Yes I took tamiflu when I was pregnant with my son it's on the lowest scale for harming you or the baby. In other words its safe.
Avatar f tn My OB called me and told me that as a prevention she wanted to put me on Tamiflu which is not recommended for pregnant women because the side effects are unknown. She said that the benefits would outweigh the negatives most likely because there have already been deaths linked to this strain of flu. The pharmacist didn't seem worried because I am 18 weeks along. Any of you ladies been put on tamiflu? Should I trust my doctor and pharmacist?
167 tn?1374173817 OB says to take Tamiflu and start today, but Tamiflu is not recommended for pregnancy based on unknown reactions to unborn children. Hubby and I don't know what decision is the best for us. Any opinions? The prescription is waiting for me...just so scared either way. I am leaning towards taking my chances and not taking it, but that is not the recommendation. What if I harm my baby by taking it? What if I do by not taking it??
Avatar f tn Get to a doctor and get a tamiflu prescription asap if you test positive. It took me almost a month to recover.
7714453 tn?1394714282 ll cause harm to my baby. Anyone been prescribed meds for flu this pregnancy? (Tamiflu in particular..) Any natural remedies? That's the route I like to go.. I've never had the flu in my life.
1990060 tn?1326819642 The reason for this is, until he has finished his vaccination course, he will not have any immunity to various canine viruses, including the often deadly parvovirus, which can be passed on through the poop of other dogs and through contact with other dogs that are carrying this and other infectious viruses.
6822962 tn?1396329659 I ended up in urgent care where they told me i got the deadly kind of flu. He prescribed me Tamiflu and was wondering if anyone else has taken it. Did you experience any side effects to you or baby. I am worried about my baby.
Avatar n tn For the last four days I been having flu like symtoms (fever, night sweats, body aches) , seen the dr. and he perscribed TAMIFLU. In what time frame would someone infected see symptoms if any at all? 2. Would you suggest testing and if so what test would be the correct test at 9 weeks. Would TAMIFLU affect the result?
