Common Questions and Answers about Sprintec lo birth control

ortho-tri-cyclen

Avatar f tn I hust started a new pack of birth control pills this month. I used to take tri-lo-sprintec tablet generic for (ortho tri-cyclen LO) for the past 6 six years, but in Michigan we do not have it in generic form anymore. Therefore this month i started taking Eth estradi/norgestimate and I feel very lazy and sleepy all the time and I see that I have been gaining weight. My question is is what I am taking now the same as what I was taking before because that is what the pharmacy told me?
Avatar f tn Hi! Could you help me with a question on birth control pills? I was on a triphasic pill for years (Tri Sprintec). It was good for keeping acne under control (which is why I originally went on it at age 20). But in the last few years I began suffering from extreme fatigue, lots of water retention, vaginal dryness, etc, and as all my tests were normal my PCP suggested the pill was causing it.
Avatar n tn About 3 months ago, I asked if there was a cheaper alternative because I was paying $50 a month for Ortho Lo. I started taking Tri-Sprintec, a generic version with increased estrogen.) I missed my period the second month and in the last week of the third month I started experiencing a lot of anxiety and depression. I have never experienced these things before in my life. I went to the doctor immediately and they chose to put me back on the Ortho Lo.
Avatar n tn t think your symptoms are in any way related to the birth control pill. What you describes sounds like what is called vaginismus, or the spasms of the muscles of the pelvic floor that narrow the vagina. In some this can be a psychological issue (e.g., history of sexual abuse or assault) while in others a response to pain.
Avatar n tn If you are on birth control then you typically should expect your period during the placebo week. Take a test then.
Avatar m tn I just started using the birth control Sprintec a week ago. I had a stroke on Monday. I cannot walk well, but other than that I have recovered quickly. I will be 20 on Saturday. I am only 19. I want to know how many others are out there who have taken sprintec and either had a TIA or a stroke due the birth control...is there anyone else?
Avatar f tn Hi Ladies I thought I would run this question past you all - I have read many articles stating that birth control could be a cause of GM. I originally had a mirena coil fitted for my endometriosis but this was removed this year as it was not keeping my 'endo' at bay. I have since been put in oral birth control and am worried that these could make my GM worse. Do any of you ladies have any experience of this or advice for me. Many thanks.
Avatar f tn Hi Kay, Here is something you may find intresting Tri-Sprintec contains female hormones and therefore alters your female gynecological symptoms. Tri-Sprintec typically causes nausea, bloating, stomach cramps, breast pain, vaginal discharge, menstrual irregularities and changes in your appetite and weight. Tri-Sprintec can affect your appearance and cause increased hair growth, loss of hair or freckling of your skin. It can cause nervousness, a headache and fatigue.
Avatar n tn The first birth control pill I was on, my periods were regular at the same time every month. I never missed a period. My doctor switched my pill and I didn't have a period for 3 months. When I went back to the doctor they said that maybe the new pill was too strong for me, and they switched it again. I had a period for the first two months on this third pill and now I have stopped getting my period again. I took three pregnancy tests and they have all came up negative.
Avatar f tn Did u have irregular bleeding before starting birth control? Any bleeding in between periods?
Avatar m tn I've been taking tri-sprintec birth control for almost a year now. The last time I was sexually active was on july 16 and my last period came two days after that and a condom was used. I decided to stop taking the birth control for good once I finished that last pack that I was on and I can't remember the exact day of my last pill when I got off, but I haven't had a period since. Lately, I've been having temporary pain (sting) in the vagina and my abdomen has been hurting.
Avatar n tn I have already posted a question, but I'm switching birth control's Friday, and I'm think about going on Ortho Tri-Cyclen because I heard it's almost the best birth control you can find. Any other suggestions??
192270 tn?1216261777 As you will see below my period comes every month, but twice every other month. I have never experience this on other birth control pills (period were once a month) 2/5 to 2/10 3/2 to 3/5 3/9 to 3/12 4/6 to 4/9 5/5 to 5/8 5/24 to 5/28 6/1 to 6/6 7/1 to 7/6 My concern is I had unprotected sex with boyfriend yesterday and this morning I had a lot of discharge, not smelly, yet thick and stretchy. We always have unprotected sex, he loves cumming inside.
Avatar f tn I have been on birth control for 6-7 years, about a month or 2 ago i was switched from ortho lo to a generic (tri-previfem), I have been having issues with weight gain and bloating. Could this be caused by the birth control? I exercise daily and still have problems with losing weight. I dont know what to do?
Avatar f tn I tried the depo Provera shot but it was making the bleeding worse so recently instead of taking a second shot my gyno put me on the Taytulla birth control pill. I took it for a week but was still bleeding in between and because I started losing my hair I decided to trade it for Tri-Sprintec pill. So I’ve been taking Tri Sprintec for about 3 days and I have been passing ginormous clots bigger than a fist (I mean the clot takes up the entire pad and I have to change).
Avatar f tn Hello, Depo-Provera is a long-acting progestin (hormone) form of birth control. If you stop getting Depo-Provera injections, your period usually returns within 3 to 10 months but sometimes it may take 12-18 mths. It is very difficult to precisely confirm a diagnosis without examination and investigations and the answer is based on the medical information provided. For exact diagnosis, you are requested to consult your doctor. I sincerely hope that helps.

Avatar n tn Hello, if a person takes their birth control (Tri Sprintec) every night at 9pm, but forgets to take it at 9pm one night and has sex from 930pm to 1030pm, and then remembers to take it again at 12 midnight (3 hours late), is there a chance for pregnancy?
Avatar m tn Hi, my wife has been taking Medroxyprogesterone(10mg 3xday) for the past 7days, and has(in the past four days)switched to Sprintec birth control pills as ordered by her Doctor. Is it safe for us to have sex now(as far as pregnancy goes)?
Avatar f tn Sprintec? If you're on a birth control pill, you shouldn't be ovulating.
