1657208 tn?1404165128 These disorders can be like obstructive sleep apnea, wherein during sleep there is an obstruction to airflow due to laxity of the throat muscles during sleep and this could cause restlessness.hence for therapy CPAP (continuous positive airway pressure) is used to keep it patent. Another cause could be an entity called restless leg syndrome, where there is an odd sensation in the legs during sleep causing the individual to move, which relieves the sensation.
Avatar n tn Sometimes you have to get tough what I have found that has worked is that you take her to bed when it is time read her some stories, tuck her in ,lots of hugs, outside light if she wants, then leave her, no going in and out, children do get mixed messages and if you arent consistant their clever little brains latch on to it, they know you will go in to them, so if she comes out tell her or take her back, just do it,quietly no fuss, Unless she sleeps in the evening or during the day she should
985832 tn?1249126599 Hello I am new here . Hi everyone. My question is what can I do about sleep problems? I never sleep through the night. I get up several times during the night and I have a hard time relaxing even when I can't keep my eyes open. Just when I laydown to go to sleep its like a light switch comes on and I am wide awake again. It really drags me down during the day. I do walk everyday and I take melatonin at night but even though it makes me really sleepy I never stay asleep.
20922415 tn?1661860103 During the reproductive years, the pituitary gland in the brain generates hormones (follicle-stimulating hormone [FSH] and luteinizing hormone [LH]) that cause a new egg to mature and be released from its ovarian follicle each month. As the follicle develops, it produces the sex hormones estrogen and progesterone, which thicken the lining of the uterus called the endometrium.

Avatar n tn I fell down a set of stairs during one pregnancy and another I fell over a baby gate at 36 weeks and they wanted me at emergency right away. At least call the on-call doctor. Better to be safe than sorry. Good luck to you!
1450627 tn?1296616593 I am not having any problems getting to sleep its just waking up a hundred times that gets to me. I sleep with a body pillow and every time that I roll over (which is very frequently) I have to readjust so its just as comfy as the other side. Plus, I am getting up 2-3 times a night to pee. Sometimes I try and hold it because im too tired to get out of bed but when I do that I cant fall back asleep with a full bladder anyways. I agree with the other person who said to try and sleep alone.
Avatar f tn Its normal during pregnancy.
3862348 tn?1348379200 said I have central sleep apnea, and have probably had this most of my life, a simple sleep study found this, and now I use a bi-pap machine, I now sleep very well (although it took awhile to get used to), and have not had those paranoia experiences since. This was several years ago, and if not for other medical problems that came on later, I would say that I was cured. Best of luck, and as always I will tell you to consult your Dr. with the issues.
2062192 tn?1333714423 Iv got one of the pregnancy pillows but it dosnt seem to be helping at the moment. I cant sleep on my back (my body has never let me sleep on my back for as long as I can remember), and the only position I see to get comfy on is on my tummy but coked up slightly on my right side with my knee helping to prop my side up a little but I move a lot in my sleep and every time I change positions I wake up feeling a bit sick and get a slight pain in my abdomen.
Avatar f tn Okay from what I understand benadryl and unisom are safe to take during pregnancy to help sleep. I have a HORRID sleep schedule and need something. I've had insomnia since a child but cannot take my prescribed meds while pregnant so looking for an alternative. Any moms tried either one of these and how well did they work for you? Does one work better than the other?
Avatar f tn I'm 21 weeks and I have trouble breathing when I lay down to sleep at night. I haven't had a good night's rest in weeks. I have gained weight fast during this pregnancy but it is only 18pds and my weight isn't too bad for my height bc I'm 5"6" weighing 143lbs...maybe the weight gain could be a factor. Im to the point where Im scared to go to sleep bc of my breathing problems and I've developed insomnia. This has never happened in my life.
5752933 tn?1383533437 I can sleep just fine if I lay down during the day but when night comes the only way i can sleep is with unisom and I hate taking them, wish there was another way..
