Seroquel withdrawal nausea

Common Questions and Answers about Seroquel withdrawal nausea

seroquel

Avatar f tn I'm taking Geodon and it can cause headaches and nausea as it's side effects. It also causes this really badly if you go through withdrawal from it. It may pass eventually as your body gets used to it but if not and it's unbearable you'll need to change medications. It was good that you took acetaminophen for your headache, hopefully it worked for you and numbed it. I had the dizziness and such from it as soon as I started taking it but that wore off after a few weeks for me.
Avatar n tn I take meclizine for the nausea, valium for the brain shocks, and now Seroquel for insomnia. Valium I can quit cold turkey(long half-life). Its seroquel that has me concerned because it antagonizes many parts of the brain that Remeron does creating a sedative effect possibly making it addictive. Am I robbing Peter To pay Paul???? Has anyone had experiences with Remeron(mirtazapine) or Seroquel (quetiapine). Particularly withdrawal Experiences.
Avatar f tn I was officially off the medication January 12, 2009. I had the usual withdrawal problems, vomiting, nausea, and insomnia during the first week. But, the only withdrawal symptom that has not gone away is the insomnia. I have been averaging about 4-5 hours a night. I can't fall asleep before 4 am and I wake up every hour (sometimes stay awake for a good hour) until I wake up at 11 am. I am extremely tired all the time.
Avatar f tn If you had stopped and had uncontrolled withdrawal, you should have been put back on the Seroquel at the last dose at which you felt fine and tapered off it at your speed. I would assume that decreased dosage would have limited your adverse reactions.
Avatar f tn I also have nausea and vomiting. But my question is how long until I will be able to get to sleep again? I am Bipolar 2 and am worried about getting unwell without sleep. All I have read says it could be 1-2 weeks. How does one manage this with a mood disorder and with trying to work etc??
Avatar f tn said replace the 3rd xanax with the seroquel 25mg before be d to seep how it works. OK i start taking Seroquel Fri night. Sat. i feel tired a little out of it and feel like I'm gonna have a panic attack. I say OK it probably just the meds getting into me. sun feel the same way. Mon. feel like a zombie not in my own body, very jittery lightheaded. also i flipped out on my husband for no reason. took it again Mon night Tues.
Avatar n tn Why are the withdrawal symptoms of seroquel the same as the withdrawal symptoms of heroin? I know that you shouldn't just stop taking it and I understand that it is a non-narcotic medication, but I still would like to know why the symptoms are the same? I am currently taking seroquel for anxiety.
Avatar f tn I gained 40 pounds in six months, need to wear glasses because of my blurry vision, foggy thoughts, bad short-term memory, extreme dry mouth, body spasms, facial tics, grinding teeth, palpitations, slurred speech, and extreme nausea. I have been to many doctors over the years and they all say that these side effects had nothing to do with my medication.
736475 tn?1281259327 does anyone have info about long term use of seroquel and how it affects you? my hubby tried to stop taking it and got all messed up. they are 50mg xr. thanks.
Avatar f tn i am experiencing extreme anxiety, sleeplessness, feeling cold, anger, seeing dead people in my sleep, nausea, very little appetite, some shakineness. as each day progresses it seems the symptoms become more pronounced. i was put on 400mg of this drug on 1/3/08 after i had brain surgery and been having seizures, i have not had any siezures at this time. is this normal? my neurologist began cutting me back on monday by 100mg every two weeks. help!!!
Avatar f tn Unfortunately, I would not recommend starting college right now. Personally, I wouldn't be able to make it. I couldn't even get my oil changed today because of the extreme pain, visual issues, and vomiting and flu like symptoms. It entirely depends on your body, how long you have been taking it, and how high your dose was.
1623698 tn?1299161234 ve been changed from Zyprexa to Seroquel because my depression came back. Within days I was extremely dizzy and nauseous and I concluded that it was withdrawal from Zyprexa so the Psychiatrist said to go back on it. Two months later, when I was feeling better, we tried it again but the same thing happened. By this time I was being told that I had an inner ear problem or it was caused by the new med. I was then given Saphris and continued to be dizzy and nauseous.
Avatar f tn However, I did read an article published by the maker of Seroquel acknowledging withdrawal symptoms. If word comes out that Seroquel is physically addicting and causes horrible withdrawals, people probably wouldn't be eager to take it and sales of the drug could drop. Seroquel is huge right now, this website is covered in ads for Seroquel. As far as the insomnia, I took Seroquel before bed because of how sedating it was for me. After 2.
Avatar m tn Yes I experienced withdrawal symptoms when I was changed from Seroquel to Risperdal and had to titrate off on at the rate my psychiatrist told me to. That is not uncommon. Its chemically separate phenomenon from addiction and if a person follows their psychiatrist's titration schedule in time these concerns will pass.
Avatar n tn Hi im currently taking 150 mgs seroquel 25mgs Paxil In 08/08 i was given starter pack for Lamictal afraid of rash so i started on 12.
Avatar f tn I'm so sorry that you were prescribed this for insomnia. That should have never happened. This is an antipsychotic and should only be prescribed for such illness. 700mg is an incredibly high dose to just stop taking it at, even though you've only been taking it for a month. Unfortunately, most doctors don't know the withdrawal effects or how long it lasts because they weren't taught that and that wasn't studied, so it's really hard to find articles online about it.
5243927 tn?1365511675 Not good to even try to stop an Antidepressant, especially seroquel, without medical supervision. Very dangerous. Many WD symptoms related to withdrawal and its recommended to go on a long very careful taper under a doctor's direction. I've never been down that road but have a friend who has. There are a few on here who know way more than I do on this subject. I hope see your post and offer you some better informed info. Stay safe.
Avatar f tn She has been taking 600 mg of seroquel for 2 years. She was taking the seroquel while inpatient also. The dr. only sent home a rx for nortriptilyne 75 mg and klonopin .5 mg 2x daily. I'm worried sick about her having withdrawal symptoms or going manic. I have spoken to the hospital and they say it will be fine but my research says otherwise. I don't know what to do. Her regular doctor is on vacation till Monday. Any insight or help will be greatly appreciated.
Avatar f tn s unlikely you have tardive dyskenisia (TD) from your Seroquel use as it usually results from long term use. Seroquel does not cause blepharospasms, but benzodiazepine withdrawal can. Dry eye can also cause blepharospasms. Blepharospasms are not necessarily permanent, but they can be. Some people will have it resolve after a few days to a week. If it persists, there are some treatments that you could talk to your doctor about, such as botox.
Avatar n tn Secondly even in transfering to another medication you will get some withdrawal symptoms as I did in the past when transfering from Seroquel to Risperdal which were fatigue and minor flu like withdrawal symptoms which pased in time and were not a problem. Follow your psychiatrist's titration schedule and ask them about available options.
Avatar m tn I asked him if I should wean down and he said no that there are no withdrawal symptoms. I started to experience nausea, which was a lot like experiencing morning sickness during pregnancy, then came the headaches, chills, severe depression and the pupil dilation. I felt as though my brain was being squeezed. My sister is a nurse and she had to come and take care of me and my children while my husband was at work. I felt as though I was going crazy and I needed to be committed.
534105 tn?1226157177 I am now struggling with anxiety and mild insomnia mainly due to withdrawal. Dr. wants me to take 25mg of Seroquel (quetiapine) per day. Do you think this is a good decision? I do not want to be addicted or dependent on any psych drug, and I have heard that quetiapine also is a drug that causes addiction and withdrawal symptoms..
663901 tn?1232649671 I'm not sure if I'm diagonosed correctly with bi-polar disorder. Between March and now I've tried several different medications. One of my main issues is sleeping and I was prescribed Seroquel. I took 200mg for several months and finally told the pdoc that I wasn't happy with it because of the weight gain and skin (terrible breakouts) issues. He switched me on October 14th to Geodon. I took 40mg a day for two days and then was bumped up to 80mg.
Avatar f tn Seroquel like all atypical antipsychotics has the potential of weight gain although each person responds differently to each medication. The other side effects you mentioned are most probably temporary and should go away in time. However you should definitely discuss all this with your psychiatrist.
Avatar n tn Went to my dr. today and he changed my meds. Took me off Zxprexa 20 mg and put me on Geodon 80 mg . I''m hopeful that I want have any any withdrawal symptoms. If there are any symptoms what should I be on the look out for?
