Common Questions and Answers about Seroquel overdose management

seroquel

Avatar f tn This dose is working for me and is not an overdose. My moods have been BAD BAD BAD as of late, so in addition to the seroquel being increased, so has my lithium.
Avatar n tn Hi my name is Mike and my wife is now currently in the hospital from overdose of seroquel and maybe other medications that she might have.
Avatar f tn Luckily for you, the overdose amount for seroquel is much higher than you took. I would suggest that you contact your doctor. He won't be happy with you taking more than prescribed but may increase your amount or try something else.
Avatar f tn Hmmm... Has she said why you're a big risk for OD on mood stabilizers? Is it something to do with your metabolism or she thinks you're suicidal? As it is, it depends on the person. If you've been on them before and didn't find them helpful, it's possible it doesn't work for you. However, if you ended them before they had a chance to get to a therapeutic level, it could be a dosage issue. Only you know how they affected you.

Avatar m tn I took 40 25mg seroquel, 20+ 5mg Valium and 14 150mg exeflor xr with lemonade. I woke. Up this morning at 5:30am. Why did it not work?
Avatar n tn how much seroquel, xanax, and alcohol causes an overdose. im qworried about my sister, she ha been prescribed xanax for 8 years now at 2mg a day, so her tolerance is well established. she is also an alcoholic. thankfully, she knows not to combine xanax while drinking, but what about the addition of seroquel? could she OD from the pill combination alone? would then the addition of alcohol just pretty much seal her fate?
Avatar m tn Benzodiazepines have robust efficacy in the short-term management of generalized anxiety disorder (GAD), but were not shown to be effective in producing long-term improvement overall. Although benzodiazepines are much safer in overdose than their predecessors, the barbiturates, they can still cause problems in overdose.
Avatar m tn I would want to know from the members of this forum about how many people are using Seroquel only as a sleeping aid in doses of 25 mg and 50 mg.All suggestions and answers are welcome.
Avatar n tn PLEASE don't give your dogs anything at all like this before checking with your vet!
871560 tn?1240023175 s still out as to whether it was caused by just the alcohol/benzo withdrawal, overdose quantities of seroquel, or the seroquel simply didn't allow my brain chemistry to re-normalize on its own, and it was brought on by physical activity after being down for a week. seroquel is an antipsychotic not a sedative, and it can be contraindicated in some individuals.
574118 tn?1305135284 I killed it by seroquel and that was my first use of seroquel. Was this another mania? or depression because in a Canadian booklet sent to me kindly by LeftCoastChick it says stress can trigger manic OR depressive episodes. Also in the section on depression it says sleep disturbance yet i know that sleep disturbance is a sign of mania. could you acknowledge please. I know i should read depression central first which i will. It's only a question which occured to me.
Avatar f tn Hi I posted on here before and got great answers so I'm back again. I've had ADHD since 14 but only took meds for a few year before I decided to try things on my own. Now at 26 I'm working full time, going school and being a single parent. Needing help to focus and with depression I went to see a pyschologist( I have medi-cal so theres only one available) He put me on 10mg Adderall three times a day ( he said 4 but I made the decision to only do three).

696149 tn?1314320959 s like I stop breathing or something, and then I take a big breath and instantly awake. OK, this happened yesterday. I was also taking Seroquel....200 to 300mg a night for sleeping. So I thought it was the Seroquel doing this because 3 hours had gone by from taking the Suboxone. The thing is, my breathing problems slowly got worse instead of better and didn't start to subside until around 8:30AM. So I took 8mg I believe last night. The last time I took a dose of Sub was after 1AM.
Avatar m tn I have been in pain management for 7 years with chronic pain due to herniated disc in my neck, broken L3, the discs between L4-L5 and L5-S1 have been surgically removed. I also have spinal degenerative disease and there is no fix for my problems so medications are my only option and the only way that I can still perform my job period. My doctor has me on MSContin ER 100mg 2 X a day with 30mg Roxicodone as needed for breakthrough pain recently dropped back to 4 a day from 5.
Avatar n tn My guess is you were experiencing a combination of effects from your illness, antibiotics and the sugar overload. However, I think you really need to examine your diabetes management. Do you test? If not, you should, and you would get a frightening glimpse of just how high all the **** you ate drove you. You make it sound as though you had no choice but eat and drink all that sugar! You had water available to you for thirst so why drink three regular sodas?
Avatar n tn Thanks to all who responded about the Suboxone-blood sugar problem. It wasn't Suboxone but Seroquel, another drug prescribed "off label" to help me sleep. For those of you who don't know, Seroquel is a vile, nasty drug with very serious side effects including Diabetes. If you are taking this poison, do your homework by checking all of the articles on the web. Good luck.
1575129 tn?1296004646 i was put on suboxone 2 years ago and i have been told by my pain management doctor that it does not work for fm but when i am off of it i have no energy and i can't get out of bed,but when i get back on it i am like a totally different person.i don't know what to do to get another doctor to put me back on it.any suggestions??
Avatar f tn Two months ago I experienced an overdose on excedrin, clonidine and benadryl and recovered. At the time, I was informed of a potential heart murmur. Lymph nodes have been tender and large for years but one has become hard in the last month. I occasionally have moments where I loose a couple seconds and get startled. I get random, painless muscle spasms quite regularly. I normally have lower blood pressure floating around 120/55.
Avatar f tn My Dad was recently put on oxycontin- short term- for hip pain. He is having surgery next week. My Mom called telling me that Dad was having to concentrate on his breathing, was dizzy and having problems concentrating. I told her to bring him to the hospital. I will be leaving to meet them but I thought that these were all signs of a overdose. I really haven't had these signs when I was abusing so I am not sure. Can anyone enlighten me?
Avatar n tn How safe is 200 milligrams of seroquel while pregnant and nursing? Also, is it dangerous to cut the pills in half to take a lesser dose? Or should you cut or break the pills at all?
Avatar f tn ve been buying Valium illegally (taking up to 20 MG per day, in addition to my Klonopin), buying Seroquel illegally (for sleep, even though my doctor has prescribed 3 MGs of Lunesta nightly for sleep; right now I'm taking 100 MGs of Seroquel and 3 MGs of Lunesta every night), drinking more (God knows how much), smoking more (I've been blowing through about a quarter of Marijuana per week)... I don't know what to do... I didn't know getting off of Klonopin would be this hard...
Avatar n tn Hello, I have been reading a lot lately about the side effects of Seroquel. The one that concerns me the most is the diabetes. I am obese and diabetes runs in my family. I even have a brother that is insulin dependent. I am wondering if I should get off this drug? Does the diabetes continue even after the drug is discontinued? Is there another antipsychotic I could take that does not have this side effect? Thank you so much for your time.
Avatar f tn I was told at my last pain management appointment that I could no longer fill my prescription from my primary care provider for the xanax I am prescribed for my anxiety that I had to choose between my chronic pain medication or my anxiety meds is this legal
