Thank you for answering my question about my mild hyperinflated lungs, as seen on my CT scan. I do not smoke, I was around second hand smoke for years while my husband smoked, he has recently stopped smoking! But my question now is: what can I do to take care of my lungs, should I be worried, am I prone to have early lung disease or anything??? I am only 39!!!

I have been smoking weed for about 7 years but I have always been around second hand smoke and just recently started smoking cigarrettes. And about 2 years ago I started with a heavy hoarse cough and when I would spit there would be little pieces of brown flecks in it. Im curious as to what that is and is it bad?
I wanted to know if there is any way to rinse of, flush down, or may be suck the tar out of my lungs every once in a while, to keep them tuned up. I do not plan to quit smoking, i just want to get my lungs cleaned every once in a while so i can maintain their health to some extent. May be you can suggest a way that deals with reducing tar on daily basis. some breathing exercises may be, that will cut off the accumulated tar slowly but regularly.
Otherwise you wouldn’t sense any aroma, and the aroma is most of the pleasure. In effect, you’re breathing your own second-hand smoke. So you’re probably spending some of your quality life time and time to disability on tobacco use and enjoyment.
How much time, I can’t estimate - I’m not a scientist. One thing I’m fairly sure of, though, is that you won’t find an MS neurologist, MS nurse or other MS specialist anywhere who’ll tell you it’s OK to keep smoking cigars.
From the past 2yrs he is suffering from severe cough and from the past one and half year his breathing became difficult and he under went many mediacal tests. Finally the doctors concluded that his lungs are being thickened. He has no smoking and no drinking habits and purely vegetarian. Is it a rear disease? Isw there any cure to this? t think much of that episode, but am somewhat concerned because I definitely inhaled some of the second hand smoke as they walked by. Any chance this could show up in a test? Since I was exposed to the smoke and felt that I inhaled it, I am trying to figure out how the smoke would not be able to affect a drug test with a false positive.

When I normally smoke a lot during the evening when I wake up I remove clear phlegm with a bit black or something. The reality is, that whatever rubish it is that is coming out of our lungs means that our lungs are not very clean and we should take this seriously. I understand and also suffer from smoking addiction but we need to use this as motivation to make us quit before its too late. On the other hand, you could only benefit if you ask your doctor about it.
, but I doubt a couple of hours of second-hand smoke would cause you anything other than immediate discomfort and even some upset of the stomach - the nose/lungs should recove soon after leaving the contamination.
Of course there is such a thing as too much smoke (fire fighters and victims) who require hospitalization to recover - but I can't see that being very likely for what you describe.
There's not a lot of evidence that I know of (i work in a related field). In general, to test positive through secondary exposure is considered technically possible but you'd hafta breathe so much in such a small space for a really long time that it doesn't really happen. Any kind of smoke, first or second hand, damages the lungs so there's that. but no to your original question.
Look if you're that worried about your baby then seriously just stop going over there. Think about it if you will. You either be alone or go to your grandma's where you will inhale second hand smoke which is way worse than smoking itself. It's terrible that your gma is like that but if she is indeed like that then just stop going over there. She obviously doesn't care to stop so just stay home and try to stay occupied. Your babies health is of the utmost importance.

I was sharing a marijuana cigar with a friend recently who has had unprotected sex, he was scratching at a pimple and made himself bleed and then wiped his hand on his pants, but then also held the cigar with the same fingers. is there any way that if any left over blood on his fingers got on the cigar and i inhaled it that i could be exposed to HIV?
