Since last night i started using the cream my skin start peeling off.
Avatar f tn I have had two prescription creams from the doctor, one for seborrheic dermatitis and one for rosacea, both made my skin feel tight and more dry. I have tried everything under the sun in the way of creams and am currently using Liz Earle for dry/sensitive skin. I have also tried vitamin e oil on my face which works for a few days then stops.
Avatar m tn Hello, I cannot confirm anything without examination but it can be contact dermatitis, hives, sweat dermatitis or heat rash. Please keep the area clean and apply some topical antiseptics. Also wear loose-fitting cotton clothing and use an antibacterial soap or mild soap like dove. Avoid any kind of cosmetics. Topical zinc oxide cream like Desitin or calamine are very helpful. Application of mild steroid cream like dermacort also helps.
Avatar m tn Hello, From the symptoms the possibilities of seborrheic dermatitis and eczema skin need to be ruled out. Seborrheic dermatitis is a common skin condition that causes flaky, dry, white to yellowish scales to form on oily areas esp under the nose or anywhere on face. Eczema is a form of chronic dermatitis (rash).Allergic reaction is one of the important causes of eczema.
Avatar n tn is sometimes caused by a common condition called seborrheic dermatitis which can be problematic for persons with advanced HIV. Even though seborrheic dermatitis/dandruff can be a problem for persons with HIV, the fact is that most people with dandruff/seborrheic dermatitis do not have HIV. thus your dandruff is not something to worry about. If you have lingering fears about HIV, the only way to be sure that you o not have HIV is to be tested. There is no reason to fear testing.

Avatar m tn And it may be a bit of an odd question. But I have recently been diagnosed with Seborrheic Dermatitis and have been getting alot of anxiety as it is HIV related. If anyone can please comment if Seborrheic Dermatitis is a common skin disease or if it is predominately related to HIV? I just had a few questions to see if my possible exposures could be related to HIV? Possible exposure 1: Protected sex with 10+ women? (Just wanted to ask what the chances are of getting HIV?
Avatar m tn of Seborrheic dermatitis started about 5 years ago. I did have it before and a dermatologist gave me some kind of oil. Not really sure what it was called. I would go back to the doctor the only thing is I don't have insurance. Anything would be of help. One other thing. I have a sore in one particular spot that has stayed there this whole time I have had this Seborrheic dermatitis. It is sore to touch and is also covered with these scales and is hard. Im in very desperate need of help.
Avatar n tn I have someone with red blotches on his face starting from his hairline down the side of his face to his chin. Whenever he is in the sun, these spots get brighter and they itch. The spots are not scaly. Whenever he applies a dandruff shampoo to it, it eases and goes away. He has been told that it is the dandruff that has run down to his face.Others say that it is his high alcohol consumption which is in correlation to some liver disorder. The spots tend to look like ring worm but not exactly.
Avatar m tn Dandruff on the face is characteristic of seborrheic dermatitis. It can be treated with selsun lotion (or shampoo) rubbed onto your rash. Persons with HIV can get severe seborrheic dermatitis but most people with seborrhea do not have HIV. that your seborrheic got worse is no reason for concern. 2. Did anyone ever got HIV from this sort of exposure No, not ever. 3. Do you believe vinyl glove will provide protection against infection and would oil temper it.
Avatar f tn But last year at the age of 27, my dermatologist diagnosed me with rosacea (which my father has) and seborrheic dermatitis. When I started researching about both I found that seborrheic dermatitis is associated with HIV. Then, not long after I got ringworm on my face. A year later I now live on a different country and colder climate, I now have eczema. Are my skin conditions related to HIV? I've never had an HIV test.
Avatar n tn I just went to the dermatologist and I was told I have Acne Rosacea and Seborrheic Dermatitis. As far as my meds go for HB, they are Procardia XL 90 MG, Lisnipril, & Metropol, and Simvastatin for Chol. My neck also gets flaming red and hot as well. Appreciate your help.
1522309 tn?1291983200 Hello, From the symptoms , seborrheic dermatitis and eczema are important possibilities. Seborrhoeic Dermatitis is believed to be an inflammatory reaction related to the proliferation of normal skin habitant Malassezia – a yeast, which produces toxic substances that infect and irritate the skin.To confirm the diagnosis please get an evaluation done from a dermatologist.

Avatar n tn Hi, I have been getting electrolysis on my face and have recently been diagnosed with seborrheic dermatitis. I was just wondering if anyone could tell me if the Seborrheic dermatitis may have been caused by the damaging of the hair follicles. I have very mild seb derm but it flares up about four days after an electrolysis session on my face. Any help would be appreciated.
Avatar m tn Hello, It looks like seborrheic dermatitis. Seborrhoeic Dermatitis is believed to be an inflammatory reaction related to the proliferation of normal skin habitant Malassezia – a yeast, which produces toxic substances that infect and irate the skin. The disease is neither contagious nor related with diet but it may be aggravated by other illness like Psychological stress, immune compromised patients, neurological diseases like Parkinsonism and stroke.
Avatar f tn I have never had any issues with my skin and I have read that seborrheic dermatitis is strongly related to HIV, i also have red eyes and frequent migraines. When do HIV patients start developing seborrheic dermatitis? What other symptoms are developed with it? When performing my last test alcohol was not completely dry on my finger + the final reading was before the 20 minutes mark set by the manufacturer.
Avatar f tn Hence if your child is school going then it is unlikely to be seborrheic dermatitis. However it is often hereditary and if you have been diagnosed with seborrheic dermatitis, then your child carries the risk of having it in future life during adulthood. Moreover it causes redness and inflammation of skin with yellow patches or red, greasy skin covered with flaky white or yellow scales. Hence it is unlikely to be seborrheic dermatitis in your child’s case but confirmation needs to be done.
Avatar n tn if someone has seborrheic dermatitis around his lips and chin, does it means he has HIV, or is seborrheic dermatitis a normal skin condition that affect many people.
Avatar m tn I was told by my dermo that I had Seborrheic dermatitis. It was dry itchy and scaly under my beard, in the nose folds, ears and eyebrows. I was given desonate gel to use for 2 weeks and things calmed down. However now I just have a redness itchy forehead. I put moisture cream o it and it doesnt really help. Is this still donsidered Seborrheic dermatitis? And would the desonate gel still be the right rx to use?
3227684 tn?1347373065 during the course of HIV infection? I read that some skin problems can appear any time during HIV, such as seborrheic dermatitis (which I have despite two negative tests). But do these "minor" symptoms appear after the latency period (approx. 8 years) or during it? I think it occurs during the latency period... Thanks for your answers, Regards.
