Avatar f tn I was born with eczema and I started to have bronchospasm few years ago. The doc said it might be asthma and prescribed me with salbutamol. However, i found that I don't have the common syptoms as asthmatic people .e.g wheezing or coughing, and it doesn't disturb my sleeping as well. I just feel the bronchi contract and chest tightness which go away after few minutes later without taking the inhaler. I've taken the inhaler before but i found it no use, so i didn't use it anymore.
1344892 tn?1276541735 i am 29 years old and have asthma for which i take 100 mg of qvar 2puffs twice daily. for the last 4 days my heart is beating very very fast, it will not slow down, it is waking me up from my sleep and is really getting me down. i went to a&e and had a chest x-ray, and it was fine. then i had an ecg and that came back fine apart from my high heart race. my blood pressure was high but then was taken again immediately after and was deemed o.k.
Avatar n tn Ask him/her if you should also take pills to help you breathe, either SINGULAiRor something similar once in 24hr, and the inhaler. You should also have a rescue inhaler such as ALBUTEROL and use that only in emergency. I have posted a large post re: asthma and all, please read them, hope it will help you. Again do not overuse your inhalers. Keep an air cleaning machine in your home to filter out 99% of all polutants, you can get one for about $60.00 at K-mart or Sears. They help.
Avatar m tn I think you are lucky that your salbutamol is working , palpitation is its side effects, leave it
Avatar m tn I am thinking of trying salbutamol and wondering whether anyone has any information, experiences or thoughts to share. Anything would be greatly appreciated. It is a horrible time I should add that I have been mildy anemic and am recovering. This has certainly exacerbated my breathing difficulties -- i.e. I have struggled to breath far more while anemic. However, I have good days and bad days and going by weather patterns, I'm fairly sure these are related to pollen allergy. Thank you.
726605 tn?1231368596 Do you take these on a daily basis. Medrol is hardcore. What does your doctor say about medrol during pregnancy. I assume you mean albuterol in the nebulizer. I've taken that during pregnancy...but that's when my asthma's been out of control. Sound like the meds you are taking are "short-term". Those aren't anything you would take on a regular basis for controlling asthma. In any event...
Avatar m tn Hi, I'd see your doc for a look/see and PFT testing to see what's going on. You may need an albuterol and/or steroidal inhaler and the PFT tests will help determine what's going on. May be inflammation and night is when it rears its ugly head sometimes :( Keep us posted and WELCOME! Also --- croup can happen with a sharp change of temp. It's tricky so the PFT is extremely beneficial for your Dr.
Avatar n tn Thus, when an asthmatic attack is precipatated after the albuterol, you are in a 911 situation and the time between an attack and death from respiratory arrest and death can sometimes be measured in minutes. "More albuterol" won't work. Your son will need intravenous medications and likly endotracheal intubation. There are alternative medications that still alow for the albuterol to be "held in reserve".
Avatar n tn These include caffeine, pseudoephedrine (Sudafed), amphetamines, and the asthma bronchodilators albuterol/salbutamol (e.g. Proventil, Combivent, Ventolin).” In your case probably caffeine is the culprit alonf with stress. Refer: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Fasciculation Once you cut down your caffeine and build up your lost iron by taking iron tablets and iron rich diet, you’ll be ok. Here is a link for you to go through for a complete list of iron rich food. http://www.loveyourbaby.
Avatar m tn t work - they have taken the sputum to test for bacteria which came back negative so the doctors suspect virus. They have given me salbutamol/albuterol inhalers for the wheezing which helps a lot. They tested me for asthma which came out negative. I have even been given antihistamine tablets as once the dotctor thought I was having an allergic reaction. I try to tell the doctor in vain that I was not allergic to anything.
Avatar f tn I have arrhythmias and do use albuterol for my asthma. Albuterol is an adrenergic medication. It acts similarly to adrenalin on the body. When using an inhaler, you'll probably have a slightly accelerated heart rate and feel your heart beating (palpitations) for about 10-15 minutes. You mentioned a machine. Are you using a nebulizer at home? Again, albuterol is usually used in the nebulizer and it takes about 15 minutes to finish the breathing treatment.
Avatar n tn I am taking 2 puffs of QVAR in the morning and night, half a tablet of reactine and singular at night, and Avamys in the morning. During bouts of coughing, I have tried taking my ratio-salbutamol puffer but it doesn't seem to help. Over the years I have tried a variety of puffers to no avail. Since we are now at the end of November it seems as if most of my allergic triggers are gone, so it seems to rule out an allergic cause.
Avatar m tn My husband who is 61 has AFIB. He takes albuterol and advair when needed. Are any of these drugs dangers with his AFIB?
Avatar n tn hi, my question is can we mix albuterol, ipratropium, pulmacort together and the order is give these medication together by nebulizer.
Avatar n tn I have moderate COPD and am doing well on Duoneb (an nebulizing combination that contains albuterol) and an antihistamine. As for anything else I depend on natural supplements - vitamin B5, mullein extract, and MSM. I breathe more easily now than I have in two years. (Also Advair resulted in adrenal fatigue which I am now recovering from.
Avatar m tn can i give salbutamol in 1st trimister thretened abortion?
Avatar f tn I would like to ask if the ipratropium inhaler is available with the combination of salbutamol and what brand?
Avatar f tn Trust me I stopped taking my steroid one and within a few months I would start to get out of breathe walking up hills and stuff, and thats me being totally fit and healthy. The fast acting one is great if you are doing exercise or something else that would get you out of breathe or weazy, and I carry it in my bag everywhere with me just incase...its also great if you get sick cos like myself and a lot of asthma sufferers, when you get a cold or flu etc...
Avatar f tn I purchased the Omron Portable Ultrasonic Nebulizer and am using the vials of Albuterol and Ipratropium. I can only use 1/2 vial because more than that speeds my heart up too much. Can I save the last 1/2 of the vial for later use? Does anybody know of a more affordable way to get the medicine I need? I am paying out of pocket and this economy gets harder every day it seems like.
Avatar n tn im 15 weeks and on albuterol inhaler and when my doctor brough up my asthma to me at my last appointment she told me not being able to breath is more of a risk to my baby than taking my albuterol. id assume the same is true for you. if they dont think that inhaler is safe for you or baby anymore, maybe they can switch you to something to use during the pregnancy that will help you breathe.
Avatar f tn I am 19 wks pregnant and suffer from terrible allergies this time of yr and have to use salbutamol 100micrograms inhaler. I use it up to 3 times a day. My midwife is uncertain if I can use this while pregnant and I have read up on possible effects to the baby and I am terrified. Has anyone used this while pregnant??
Avatar m tn bronchodilators and caffeine in tea are both stimulants and cause a rise in heart rate - when you combine them you may get even more of a response (called syngery) then you would see from either of them alone. You could try drinking herbal teas that are caffeine free and this help stop that affect.
959034 tn?1253671476 I use Symbicort as a preventer and rescue med to a certain degree. I use it when I feel chest tightness a lot, that doesn't go into real shortness of breath. When I'm having a sudden attack of breathing problems then I use Salbutamol (I guess it's like your Albuterol or ventollin). My doctor told me to use symbicort 6 x per day and any additional puffs when I'm having a lot of chest tightness.
