ropinirole withdrawal symptoms

So they have in ropinirole (I forgot how to spell it) but 1mg doesn't seem to be working. :( what other meds can I request?

My pulmomologist gave me ropinirole (Requip) because i have so much movement in my limbs, especially my feet, when I am sleeping and when I am awake too. I was looking up the drug and i found this side effect........ 'Some people using ropinirole have developed a gambling habit. It is not known whether ropinirole actually causes this effect. Talk with your doctor if you believe you have an unusual urge to gamble while you are taking ropinirole.

Hi, Not sure about everyone else but I know that for me the restless legs is one of the worst symptoms. I told my doctor that I was struggling and he prescribed me Ropinirole tablets, one to take before bedtime. I took one last night and, fingers crossed, it seemed to work. Most of you are probably aware of this but for those who aren't, it might be worth a try.

My RLS started over 20 years ago and has been really bad for about 15 years. Ropinirole, once I was put on it in 2007, was a Godsend and just about covers it as long as I don't miss a dose (currently 4 x daily starting at 10am) My consultant has now suggested trying Slow Mag (Slow release magnesium) in hopes that I can reduce the number of Ropinirole I have to take to be able to function normally.

I've been dealing with a form of dysautonomia since 2006, with symptoms that are ringing in the ears, Raynaud's, insomnia, restless leg syndrome, sleep apnea, a sensation of choking at times,but most troubling a sensation of being drunk/ dizzy...I have had high blood pressure in the past which resolved on its own. Hi, I take Ropinirole (Requip), and this mefication over the years has worked really well. But as you know what might work great for one patient might not work great for another. But maybe worth a try.

I have been taking Ambien for 5 years now and take anywhere from 20-30mg, plus Lamotrigine for Depression, Ropinirole for RLS, and a few others. The Ambien does not work well for me anymore and this past month my insomnia has escalated. In addition to the RLS I have body jolts, hallucinations while I'm falling asleep, and these electrical zapping sensations throughout my body.

Dear Kat, I do know that taking Requip itself can cause hallucinations. But he's been taken off it. Now, stopping Requip can cause confusion. So, I don't know what to make of it. I do recall when I had pneumonia, I was out of my mind, and I have never taken Requip. I suppose it's possible he's having a combination of fever hallucinations, left-over Requip hallucinations, and withdrawal confusion. Any way you look at it, he's having a very hard time.

my life which was already fractured due to the other horrible symptoms has pretty much come to a stand still...I take Midodrine.and gabapentin for neuropathy, baclofen and ropinirole for restless leg syndrome.. Anyone else experiencing this form of sleepiness? It's like trying to come out from under anesthesia or something and my head feels strange...

I was dx with RLS after feeling like my legs had a mind of their own....ropinirole 2x a day.

My doctor prescribed me clonidine for withdrawal. ROPINIROLE for restless leg syndrome. Ambien Cr for sleep and valium for anxiety. It all helped but the first week is hell on earth.

I only recently learned that Ropinirole should be taken several hours before going to sleep. Made all the difference for me. I had been popping it 1/2 hr. before bedtime and wondering why it wasn't working. By taking it earlier, the sensations are gone before I get into bed. Idaho, Have you tried Ropinirole? Seems like your symptom is mainly pain, rather than restlessness, so I'm not sure if this will work. I have had pain, but not to the same degree. Worth a try, though.

My boyfriend is on day 6 of taking no pain killers. He has been on it for years after a shoulder surgery. He has all the symptoms of withdrawal that I have read about. He hasn't told the doctor that he is addicted. Out of all the withdrawal symptoms the sleepless nights is what he can't handle. So he asked for sleeping pills. I first thought it was good idea because all of this is foreign to me but now I think it's a bad idea.
