Common Questions and Answers about Ropinirole get high

requip

Recent blood test shows that my actual thyroid is also starting to shut down and my risk of being hypothyroid is very high. I read that Hypothyroid disease can cause Restless Leg Syndrome. Since I already have RLS, will I have to look forward to an increase in the severity of my RLS??? I am very worried. I take Requip (ropinirole) for RLS but it is not a total relief of it.

Naturally, I have been told that it is probably all in my imagination (NOT!!). I am on low doese of ropinirole for restless leg syndrome and lorazepam at bedtime to help me cope with the claustrophobia of a CPAP mask, and no other regular medication. I am 64 and female and overweight.
At this time i also started to get pain in my legs (mostly at night when they were rested), which would feel like terrible growing pains, and made it very difficult to sleep. My legs were so uncomfortable and restless. this progressed to a fibromyaligia like state, where my whole body felt sore most of the time. both day and night, i felt like a truck had run over me, and i was exhausted. two years ago i was standing up working when i felt this pain settle in the soles of both feet.
A that dopamine is a hormone/neurotransmitter lacking in pakinson patients and that sometimes it has been founf to be lacking in fibroymyalgia patients too and i know there are some wise people on here so thought i would pay a visit and see if i can get some info from somebody that might of tried it or knows someone who has.
So anyway, I'm not sure what some of these test where for (sed rate is high, WBC is high, TSH is high, B12 a little low,Copper is high, SM-RNP is high, B1 is high, Vitamin E is high, but not by much at all, ceruloplasmin is high ) but this DR atlease is running test and not pushing this as a "unknown" problem. It doesn't help matters that earlier this month I fell and I've been on pain meds and now have to go see a Orthopaedic tomorrow to see how badly I messed up my back and hip.
I have severe RLS. The doctor has done everything. I am now on a very high dosage of Mirapex and also the Neupro Patch. This still does not work. Requip and all these other medications have not helped. The doctor now has me scheduled for physical therapy for my legs and also has scheduled for me to have a electromyogram and nerve conduction study. I don't know how this will help. But I kick all night, can't take naps, can't ride in a car, set at my desk or anything.
I get this energy from them and I am able to get things done- or so I think. I ruined my life taking them. I can't even look my family in the eyes or socialize. I feel like everyone hates me. I have made so many enemies and/or made an *** out of myself. I don't want to show my face ever again. I have lied and cheated. I can't believe that was me. I am walking around with the worst guilt- I am sure that you can imagine. I wanted to let you know that I can relate to your story.

I have had this problem for a little over a year, it used to come and go every few months or so, I recently passed out in the middle if the night on my way out of the restroom (and could never figure out why) , and ever since these involuntary gasps for air have been non-stop about every 7 -10 minutes, I do notice that when I am busy and active I get them less, but with out fail - when I sit and relax, I get them. Sometimes my neck wants to strech out (pointing my chin up) to get more air.
