620048 tn?1358018235 My pulmomologist gave me ropinirole (Requip) because i have so much movement in my limbs, especially my feet, when I am sleeping and when I am awake too. I was looking up the drug and i found this side effect........ 'Some people using ropinirole have developed a gambling habit. It is not known whether ropinirole actually causes this effect. Talk with your doctor if you believe you have an unusual urge to gamble while you are taking ropinirole.
Avatar m tn I have been taken Ropinirole for sometime now and it helps a little. As for sleep,I get very little of.
7126533 tn?1388405470 My RLS started over 20 years ago and has been really bad for about 15 years. Ropinirole, once I was put on it in 2007, was a Godsend and just about covers it as long as I don't miss a dose (currently 4 x daily starting at 10am) My consultant has now suggested trying Slow Mag (Slow release magnesium) in hopes that I can reduce the number of Ropinirole I have to take to be able to function normally.
Avatar f tn I have heard gabapentin helps as well. I get it so bad now that even get restless arms O.o It blows hard core, but it will all be over before you know it, and you are handling it right by finding alternative means to sooth the RLS and not opiates. Great share ty.
Avatar f tn s, insomnia, restless leg syndrome, sleep apnea, a sensation of choking at times, but most troubling a sensation of being drunk/ dizzy...I have had high blood pressure in the past which resolved on its own. Over the past couple years I developed heart palpitations, fluttering, flip flopping etc...the past 8 months or so.. severe shortness of breath and near fainting, severe overwhelming sleepiness that is progressively getting worse, and extreme fatigue regardless of how much I sleep..
Dog Hi, I take Ropinirole (Requip), and this mefication over the years has worked really well. But as you know what might work great for one patient might not work great for another. But maybe worth a try.
Avatar f tn Recent blood test shows that my actual thyroid is also starting to shut down and my risk of being hypothyroid is very high. I read that Hypothyroid disease can cause Restless Leg Syndrome. Since I already have RLS, will I have to look forward to an increase in the severity of my RLS??? I am very worried. I take Requip (ropinirole) for RLS but it is not a total relief of it.

8882583 tn?1400413744 put me on high blood pressure med.s and Ropinirole, which is for restless leg syn. Which that is not the entire reason I am not sleeping. Truth is my mind is going a mile a second. Chol. is high to boot, and I've lost about 8 lbs in a week...not trying at all. That being said...Today I had an Nuclear uptake and Scan (radioactive Iodine) It showed the Hot nodule very clearly Uptake was 16% with the range of ( 10%-30%) so according to the tech. It was in range. lower end but in range.
Avatar f tn So they have in ropinirole (I forgot how to spell it) but 1mg doesn't seem to be working. :( what other meds can I request?
Avatar f tn So right now I am currently taking ziprasidone 80 mg, chantix 1mg, topamax 50mg 3x day, and ropinirole for side effects 1 mg once a day. I can't believe I actually made it through the night last night. I had some psychosis and was up all night long, but laying and I had the shakes at first but I'm actually proud I made it through the night without popping that pill. Took my medicine this morning and slept for about 5 hours and no psychosis, hallucinations or anything.
Avatar m tn Naturally, I have been told that it is probably all in my imagination (NOT!!). I am on low doese of ropinirole for restless leg syndrome and lorazepam at bedtime to help me cope with the claustrophobia of a CPAP mask, and no other regular medication. I am 64 and female and overweight.
Avatar n tn For some time now I've been feeling my bed shake. It feels like a little tremor, a kick to the bed or like some one moved in the bed. It is always during while I'm asleep or really relaxed close to falling asleep. I don't understand it. My mom says its the peacocks landing on the balconies or on the roof so one time when i felt it i went to check, and no peacocks. Besides they roost after 8pm, they're not roaming at night, geez.
Avatar f tn I have been taking Ambien for 5 years now and take anywhere from 20-30mg, plus Lamotrigine for Depression, Ropinirole for RLS, and a few others. The Ambien does not work well for me anymore and this past month my insomnia has escalated. In addition to the RLS I have body jolts, hallucinations while I'm falling asleep, and these electrical zapping sensations throughout my body.
Avatar m tn it is important to get ur sleep to make it thru the physical part of wd...good luck to u..there r also supps etc that can help..read thru the health pages..there is also an article in my journal about rls..
Avatar n tn Dopamine agonists such as ropinirole, pramipexole, carbidopa/levodopa or pergolide are used and you have to monitor these drugs. There are some issues with the use of dopamine agonists. There are conditions where the drug itself causes symptoms to increase in severity and/or occur earlier in the day. Monitoring the adverse effects of the drug and titrating a proper dosage is important for your daughter. Take care!
1838963 tn?1318496884 t seem to be triggered by anything in particular that I can find, I can wake up with a headache in the morning, I can get them while reading, while driving and sometimes they wake me up in the middle of the night. But I do get them every day. I went to an Optometrist and he said that my sight wasn't causing my headaches. On a pain scale of 1-10 headaches are usually a 7 and an 11 on bad days. Sometimes the pain is so bad that I throw up. My headaches aren't always localized to one area.
Avatar f tn I found this forum by mistake whilst having an annoying reaction to my pain medication for my lower back. I'm 26 and have had lower back issues since I was 7. It's only in the past 6-8 years that I've been properly medicated and only found out in the last two years that I have a protruding disc. I have had a lot of pain medication but tramadol works for me MOST of the time.
Avatar m tn I have had testing for restless leg syndrome, arthritis, had an mri, etc and am tired of not being able to get any relief from this because no one knows whats wrong. This has been ongoing for over 10 years and is progressively getting worse to the point I had to quit my job because I was not able to function normally. Any help would be appreciated.
