concussion

Avatar f tn We present this information to the person in the form of a video game. The person is effectively playing the video game with his or her brain. Eventually the brainwave activity is "shaped" toward more desirable, more regulated performance. The frequencies we target, and the specific locations on the scalp where we listen in on the brain, are specific to the conditions we are trying to address, and specific to the individual.
Avatar f tn Hello my 11 year old son suffered a gr.2 concussion during a hockey game. He had a MRI which showed the brain was fine but after 3 months he still hasn't gone one day without getting a headache. He is itching to run around and play. Can he run, jump, ride a bike even if he is still getting headaches or should he do no physical activity even after 3 months? We're trying physio. now to see of it helps.
Avatar f tn If I do another face-palm over something this man says, I’m going to end up with a concussion. In comparison to Mitt Romney, George W. Bush is looking like a very brilliant man indeed, and infinitely more caring. That’s right! Mitt Romney makes the man who tanked the US economy look smart, competent and benevolent. Here comes that concussion. http://veracitystew.
Avatar m tn I’m a 19 year old 5’11 140 pound Caucasian male with post concussion syndrome from a life of contact sports and also an anxiety disorder Well this is likely the end of my life, something truly tragic has happened. Was walking down the street, bent down to throw something in the trash, lifted my body back up and smashed my head under a street sign. It made a huge sound and a woman passing by even said a loud ‘oof’ Which basically confirms the severity of the impact.
524760 tn?1212548649 When I got home I did some research and read that the drowsiness might mean he got a concussion on the fall. I haven't been able to contact the breeder today, and I am really worried about how he is doing. Here is a video of him ten minutes after the jump, looking drowsy: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uUpBFANNFQ4 Here is a video of him 30 minutes after the jump, doing a little better: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mOgJIQvQMO8 I don't know what to do!
Avatar m tn My 10 week old kitten has suffered a concussion recently (ran into a door pretty hard). We took him to the vet and they gave him a steroid shot for possible brain swelling. The vet told us he needs a few days rest. But i'm concerned as he just lays in one spot all day, doesn't really respond to his usual toys. Pupils are even on both sides, he responds to movement, but no desire to act on it. He drinks water, but he wont eat unless we force him and is becoming noticeably skinnier.
Avatar f tn I had torn a ligament in my neck and received a concussion. At the hospital, my doctor had me do another long term video eeg. I had no seizures during this eeg. The doctor looked at the video of my seizure at the hospital where I had had a seizure on the eeg. He determined me to have non-epileptic seizures. Now I am seeing a counselor who is doing neuro therapy. She found I have depression and worry because of my seizures.
Avatar m tn I was involve in a very bad car accident 02/10 and have no memory of the actual wreck. the hospital deemed I have a severe concussion and then also diagnosed me with Post Concussion Syndrome. I am currently also experiencing back and neck problems as well as getting a collarbone checked out for a possible fracture. My question is does coffee effect concussion and PCS recovery. And how long does recovery generally take.
Avatar n tn I have a serious concussion and I have strained my trapiuses muscle... I also have osgood schlatters in one leg and I can't run with out getting dizzy due to the concussion... I really need to work out ... I have been out for a month ... Please and thank you !
Avatar f tn Loss of consciousness isn’t required for a diagnosis of concussion or post concussion syndrome. Post concussion syndrome occurs within first 7 to 10 days and until 3 months. Symptoms are variable including dizziness, fatigue, irritability, anxiety, insomnia, loss of concentration and memory, light and noise sensitivity, headache varying from a tension type to cluster headaches. You need to consult a neurologist immediately.
Avatar f tn I am a concussion survivor. Could you get a concussion if your head stops suddenly from a fast movement? Yesterday I was in a hurry and running and pushed the door in front of me. It stopped abruptly which caused my body to stop too. Could this cause a concussion? I'm scared because I am recovering from a concussion already. Does it make me more prone to brain injury? Please, help me!

Couple of my friends said that i might have had a concussion. Can anyone tell me what happened? I've never had this happen to me before. and if I did have a concussion, what should I do? :( This discussion is related to concussion.
Avatar f tn I got a concussion about 3 months ago at a cheer competition when a girl fell and elbowed me in the face. I didn’t get knocked unconscious but I blacked out for 3 or 4 seconds. Immediately after my performance I went to the athletic trainer who performed an assessment and asked what my symptoms were. Immediately I had a headache, I saw halos around lights, and I felt like I was in a dream state.
Avatar f tn Had a concussion several weeks ago with instant headache & nausea which have gotten worse. Already had 2 CT scans without contrast, showing they were normal. The headaches and nausea are pretty bad daily, have gotten worse since the concussion. I'm now scheduled for an MRI scan, should I do it with or without contrast. Have read so many negative things about getting it with the contrast.
Avatar f tn I had a metal iron shelf fall on my head at work 4 months ago, got a concussion and ended up with post traumatic concussion syndrome. He needs to go to the doctor!!!!! He needs to have a CT or MRI to check for headbleeding then he needs to see a neurologist and let them run test!!!!! It's so important. They told me if I hit my head again I'll have permanent damage.
Avatar f tn I have been having really bad anxiety for about 3 to 4 months now and I have felt dizzy and not myself every single day. It was after I got my concussion. I went to the ER and got MRI but it came back fine. about a week ago the dizziness was really bad I felt like I was going to pass out, and my vision was bad so I went to the ER. they did an EKG, blood work, and chest X-ray.
Avatar f tn Ok so about 7-8 months ago I suffered a concussion and was off work for quite a time I am getting back to it now. My question is can suffering a concussion cause depression and suicidal thoughts as well as self harm? Basically when I was a teenager I was suicidal and a cutter and haven't done anything like that since, until I got the concussion and a few months into the treatment etc I started cutting again and feeling suicidal.
Avatar f tn I have begged him to go back to a doctor to get his concussion checked out but he refuses. Does it sound like he needs to seek medical help for the concussion considering he never received any after-care and continued to drink on the concussion? Its been about 10 months since this happened so it is likely that he could still be suffering from the after affects of the concussion? Thank you for your time.
Avatar f tn It is abundantly clear that in some cases concussions may result in seizures. That is not a "theory". It is a medical fact. It doesn't require "discussion". But not all concussions result in a seizure. There can be varying degrees of damage depending on the severity off the blow, where the impact takes place, and from resultant swelling, and if there is a delay in seeking medical attention. A "concussion" is not a "concussion".
Avatar n tn http://www.emedicinehealth.com/concussion/page2_em.htm#Concussion%20Symptoms) The symptoms may resolve after some time or may persists. After initial treatment, it is important to go to your follow-up appointments for evaluation and monitoring. Take care and keep us posted.
