Risperidone normal dose

Common Questions and Answers about Risperidone normal dose

risperdal

indeed it can, so i would say it's completely normal to encounter insomnia by tapering off from risperidone and this should automatically applies to seroquel, and the rest of the antipsychotics.
1mg risperidone 25mg seroquel 2mg stellazin 0.375mg xanax (i take risperidone and seroquel at night) Yesterday (sunday) I did the same took 2mg in the morning and 2mg at night but i didn't sleep at all in the night. So do you think 1. increase seroquel to 50mg again 2. or take lamictal 2mg morning and 2mg noon 3. or take ONLY 2mg in the morning/daily Suppose i choose (3) will this be safe withdrawal? apparently it's axtivating.
I have been sent to see a psychiatrist for these symptoms and diagnosed bipolar. Was put on Risperidone, and seroquel xr(which i refuse to take because of side efftects, its like going for a headache and they give u a pill that says make cause death) and 20mg Celexa. After taking Celexa, Risperidone, and .05 lorazepam(3 times a day) Nothing is helping its actually making me worse. I went back to doctor last week after reading some things on Hashimotos. I demanded test that were listed online.
I have been feeling constant anxiety for the past two days (moving my leg and rubbing my teeth together) I started taking it Sunday night so tonight will be my 5th dose. I just would like to speak with someone who has experience with this med. I would like to know if I should stick it out or ask my doctor for something else. please help!
I changed to a top pshychiatrist she gave me anti psychotic zyprexa 5 mg +anti depressant + wham within 4 days I was completely normal! Now for maintenance (3years down the line) I just take 1.25 mg zyprexa with low dose antidepressant, it keeps me completely stable.
I really don't feel any emotions at all. Is this normal? Or could my meds be blocking my emotions?
the last conference was in sharm el-sheikh. so which dose for me you think is good for depression. also WHY a small dose 50 makes me sometimes lethargic and needs reduction while the pdoc gave me 200 during my mania and it worked OK . Of course that was diuring the mania but i am slipping down so i don't need that much but i fear if i go back to 50 say it won't be of any use but only a sedative. What is the starting dose foir helping in depression.
Hello. What was the dose of risperidone at the first testing, and since how long was she taking it ? There are studies, and also with clinical experience, risperidone is seen to improve cognition. But again, it is dose dependent. Some patients do not tolerate the drug, and in the elderly patients, there are chances of disorientation. I am not much aware of the system. But I have gone through the websites.
However - good news - it lifted yesterday and I feel normal!! I haven't felt this well in months. I'm scared about going to see the doctor because when I go over these things they just sound that they weren't real - how is she going to believe me? And do I still change my meds...knowing I could be destabilized for months again? I just don't feel safe on this dose knowing how the past few weeks were. Wow. Sorry for that. Think I just needed to let it out!
I would ask for a second opinion, but I'd call the one who prescribed the meds and ask if the side effects are normal to experience until I got the second opinion. Reading on Risperidone at drugs.com, the following is written about side-effects: Risperidone side effects Get emergency medical help if you have any of these signs of an allergic reaction: hives; difficulty breathing; swelling of your face, lips, tongue, or throat.
I am seeing my psychiatrist on tuesday 27th.Should I request him to start me on low dose Risperidone and start to taper it as I am having severe Insomnia dsince past 5 days.
(Side affects included Breathing shocks, body jerks, perfuse sweating, weight gain, developing paranoia and literally staying up all night and sleeping all day) I was at 200mg for about 3 years, the dose never increased and every month I lowered the dose by 25-50 mg and for 3 months I've been taking only 50mg... Its the middle of july and I took my last 50mg appx 5 days ago. I am now suffering from insomnia and severe itching of the skin..
I was at some point able to reduce the risperidone to 0.25mg bid and my prolactin went back to normal. That is when they determined it was the risp and not the adenoma. Back when they first thought it was a prolactinoma however, my endo put me on pergolide (dont know the dose unfortunatley). I was only on it for less than a month when I felt very short of breath upon standing. My mom is a nurse and has an oximeter so she took my pulse while standing still it was 170.
My question is...is this normal? I just upped my dose to 50mg last night. My doc. would like me to keep upping my dose in 25mg increments until I get to 100mg. Then we will re-evaluate when I go see him for my next visit in two weeks. When I take the Quetiapine at night, I get drowsy about an hour and a half later. I fall asleep more easily, and sleep through the night much better than before the started the drug.
I add 1 risperidone. Actually they are equivalent; for each 1mg of the latter is equivalent to 100mg of the former. My problem is that I wish to reduce my seroquel a bit but each time I do this I have mixed states. Now I diagnose myself according to the wave theory that my energy is high and my mood is low. Apart from the AC e.g. depakote, lamictal and all the sort of drugs which I hate to even hear their names, does it exist a way to overcome this situation.
I believe that I am under surveillance by micro robots in the form of seemingly normal bugs. The bugs appear to be watching me. I think it could be an advanced alien race or possibly the CIA. I just wish the medication would make this go away, but it does not. Any advice would be helpful.
If I miss my dose I cannot sleep and I sweat all night. Anyone experience the withdrawl or side effects like this from Seroquel.
what should i do and where should i go,desperatelly need help.i was taking clomipramine and risperidone now i have stop taking risperidone and minimum dose 50 mg of clomipramine.
So we reverted to our 2nd doctor and stayed with him ever since, who cancelled the Zoloft and changed to [Anafranil (clomipramine 25Mg), stellazin (trifluoperazine 1Mg), benzo (0.75 Mg) and risperidone (1MG)]. I became stable for 3 years and passed my exams and graduated. So it all looks OK now and I am an OCD man with mild depression (much less than the 1st onset) and started to look for a job.
It also depends somewhat on the current levels of your biologically active thyroid hormones, Free T3 and Free T4 (not the same as Total T3 and T4), and what amount of thyroid med will ultimately be required to increase your Free T3 level enough to relieve symptoms. And of course you cannot just start with a large dose of thyroid med. You have to start with a small dose and increase in small increments about every 6 weeks, until you achieve symptom relief.
) -------------------Start-------------------------- I am aware that those two drugs inhibit prolactin production, but at the time of my dx, I was on a hefty dose of risperidone (for tourette syndrome). I had experimental deep brain stimulation surgery in 2006 and was able to drasitcally reduce and eventually come off the risperdone entirley. If you google risperidone, you will find that a common side effect is milk excretion due to increased prolactin.
I've been diagnosed with panic anxiety disorder and my new pdoc prescribed me MIRTAZAPINE an antipsychotic called RISPERIDONE !!!! I rode about this second med and it says that it used to treat schizophrenia and symptoms of bipolar disorder.Today its my 6th day of taking it and I'm having so badly side effect expect fast heart beat, dizziness, unbalance, vision problems, extreme sleepness, and I feel so nervous all the time...
Hi adel did you get withdrawl symptoms while stopping risperidone?.Just wanted know as i am getting a bit edgy when I tapered the dose to 0.5mg a bit more than when I was 1.5mg.
I was presribed 50mg Zoloft for stress, anxiety and migraines last month but haven't taken it yet due to concerns and fears about all the negative side effects I've read about. Will I gain weight if my diet and exercise remain the same while on Zoloft? I'm slim and like to exercise and eat a healthy diet so even gaining 5 pounds would likely make me more depressed. Will Zoloft help my PMDD? I get so irritable and depressed a week or two before my cycle that life is totally unbearable.
I'm on Zeldox and lithium, since moving form risperidone to Zeldox I have trouble with my body clock, can't go to sleep before 5am most nights, 3am on a good night but I find iit is an ok drug except the clenched jaw and some shaking and yeah insomnia, loss of appetite, so I guess I will lose weight after Respiridon that elevated my prolactin and made me feel like a zombie, zero creativity for what I used to be very ceative, Zeldox gives me some of my natural tendency back including my spiritual
Quite honestly 5mg is the lowest dose you can go on, in fact not even an effective treatment dose at 20mg is maintance for Paxil. I know as I have been on this drug for about 10 yrs. I have also experience this syndrome when 1st starting paxil, My dr wanted me to switch from zoloft to zoloft but wanted me to wean off and had me start the paxil at 10mg. Needless to say it was too much.
She is an A student who works very hard. Anyway, now the Dr. has her on a low dose of Zyprexa along with the Seroquel and Risperidone. I suggested Lamictal, Dr. says it does not work well for acute mania. She suggests Lithium if she cannot be maintained on the meds now without an episode. I'm so broke down, anxious and worried about what's going to happen next.
Also other issues like height, weight and muscular frame play important role in the amount of medication she should have, as if she is of a small stature normally only a small dose of medication is needed. Risperidone is a very sedating drug so this is more than a possibilty to the reason why she is slow in her movements and uninterested in her surroundings, this drug numbs the mind.
[stelazin (typical AP), risperidone, anafranil (tricyclic AD), all in small doses]. After graduation I stopped the meds (not knowing the consequences then) yet I continued on the bloody AD (because depression was still persisting) until I had my 1st mania. Whose responsibility is that, I can't tell.
The main thing to observe is starting out at a low dose, 25 mg and slowly going up. I have been on it for a long time and it has made me very stable, more stable than and other medicine I have taken. As I said earlier anxiety is affected by bipolar. I suffer from it mostly when I am in a mixed state or rapid cycling.
