Well this can happen with ocd, but I think it happens with a few other disorders like anxiety too. It usually takes more than one symptom to diagnose ocd, so I'd get a second opinion. Also when you say "therapist" do you mean a psychologist, a behavioral therapist, or a psychiatrist.
